I recently learned about a type of tea, or tisane, whatever you wish to call it, called guayusa. It is like yerba mate, but not as bitter or grassy.

it has caffeine, theobromine and theanine. I do not think the theanine content is significant but it is there.
I purchased a lb of the bulk teas off Amazon from a company called Davidson's which is a quality company that specializes in teas and herbal drinks. I have been drinking this cup everyday for the last week and I love it.
The energizing effect I get from it is somewhere in the middle between tea and coffee. It's more stimulating than tea, more relaxing than coffee. No jitters or rapid heartrate that I sometimes get from coffee.
The taste is milder than yerba mate, similar to green tea but no astringent, tannic qualities. I love this stuff.
Just figured I would share with you folks since I know we are always on the hunt for a pick-me-up.
