Good Morning Shake

I was bored so I decided to work out exactly what is in my morning shake. These are the basics, seems like a pretty good shake to me.

Protein: 50 grams (23 from whey powder, 5 from oatmeal, 14 from cottage cheese, 8 from milk)
Carbs: 65 grams (35 from sugar, 30 complex)
Fat: 20 grams (4 saturated, 15.5 unsaturated, and I'm guessing 0.5 from transfat)
Calories: 614

Ingredients-
1 scoop Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey, Chocolate.
1 Half Cup Oat Meal.
1 Half Cup Cottage Cheese.
1 Tablespoon Honey.
1 Cup Milk.
1 Tablespoon Olive Oil.
Cinnamon to taste.

Works good for me, tastes half decent. One thing though. If you haven't gone to the can before you drink this, you sure as hell will afterwards. Gets you moving in the morning like nothing else I've tried. Some stuff keeps you regular, this make you unstoppable. Just a word of warning to anyone who tries it.

Looks OK, but you have too many calories from fat, IMO. I like to save the fats for the latter half of the day, therefore my morning meals consist of carbs and protein only. I like to do this because I like to seperate insulin and fats as much as possible.

But if it works good for you, keep doing it!

If you're bulking getting some fats in the AM can be a good thing. It will slow down digestion and keep you feeling fuller longer.

I eat 5-6 whole eggs every morning and have no problems gaining while maintaining a single digit bodyfat.

I did notice that, but I don't have much of a chance to get good fat like that during the day, so I take it in the morning. Most of it is from the olive oil, so it's easy to modify if I want. I usually take my multivitamin then too, so I want some fat to help metaboliza some of the vitamins.

it will help absorb vitamins A,D,E,K more because they are fat soluble. Without fats the majority of them will be excreted. The B complex vitamins and Vitamin C are water soluble, so they should absorb fine as long as you are hydrated.
