Glen's training log (better than beelze's)

What the fook, I don't know how I didn't see this before...Anyway, good to see you are keeping a log, but I think Beezle has you beat until you start putting perty smilies in here...:)

Same, I feel my elbows pop and crackle when I use 125's on skulls. I haven't tried Beez's tate presses because they look so damn gay... :D

I may rethink my tentativeness about trying hybrid DC after PCT.. I'm not keeping a log though, 'cause I'll be doing it natty. summab1tch!

Have you ever tried them on an incline bench?

yeah, still hurt and on decline. not concerned about it, i don't think they're that great of an exercise. but if i could do it without pain, i would. arm development isn't exactly my weak point at the moment anyway.

everyone i know that does or had done skull crushers say they hurt the elbows bad, and there is so many other excersizes out there.

plus how many big time benchers do you see skull crushers in their routines? :D

Try it lying down on flat with one arm and DB's, held with hammer grip bring it right down next to your ear. You hold your elbow slightly back with opposite arm and extend.

yeah, the neutral grip is easier on the elbows, agreed.

Gleprechaunihan, I agree closer grip pulldowns,(or chins) focused and strict, to the chin level are latsearers.. Charles Glass showed how much a little variance in form, even hip placement, can change the effectiveness of a simple back movement.. I was sold.

Then again, Beez's referral to Rack Chins had me blown away. There are so many good ways to train the back.. and in my case I need them all.. it's my lagging part as of now.

Just started your routine glen, I really like it so far. I really feel like i can recover quite well between workouts training this way. I got a quick question for all you experienced lifters on this thread (because i noticed there are so many!) but I am still pretty much natural, the only thing I have used b4 that is hormonal is prostan, and god knows that is a very weak chemical but I still got some good results with it. My question to you guys is are people almost in a sense "capped" with how far their muscle growth can grow simply because there hormones simply dont let them get too big? My diets in order and when my training is going well, I feel like I get results (ever so slowly) and sometimes I feel like I take a step back every once in a while, then forward, and back, but then get myself back to about where I was hovering around 190-200 depending on whether or not i am looking to be defined or bulking. I hope this question makes sense. Like is the only way to truly put on size is with AAS? Or have i just not found my nitch yet for what works for me?

I use that hammer grip curl bar (whateverchamacallit) for my skulls and it alleviates the elbow pain for me.

diet in order??? post it. 11 times out of 10, that's where the problem lies.

What worked well for me (natural ecto) was eating a ****load of food, lifting on a decent program and resting a lot. Since September I have gained nearly 50 lbs naturally. I drop and gain weight super fast, but even just eating maintanance on off weeks, I keep everything fairly well. If you can't accomplish some sort of homeostasis like this, I'm guessing your diet is not in order somewhere. Sometimes I notice people try to be too picky and try to worry about little things rather than just getting a ****load of food at the right macro ratio into their body.

(This is for you Beelz...)

Hi Glen,
:nutkick:

I wish I was little bit taller,
I wish I was a baller,
I wish I had a girl who looked good
I would call her
I wish I had a rabbit in a hat with a bat
and a six four Impala

I wish I was like six-foot-nine
So I can get with Leoshi
Cause she don't know me but yo she's really fine
You know I see her all the time
Everywhere I go, and even in my dreams
I can scheme a way to make her mine
Cause I know she's livin phat
Her boyfriend's tall and he plays ball
So how am I gonna compete with that
'Cause when it comes to playing basketball
I'm always last to be picked
And in some cases never picked at all
So I just lean up on the wall
Or sit up in the bleachers with the rest of the girls
Who came to watch their men ball
Dag y'all! I never understood, black
Why the jocks get the fly girls
And me I get the hood rats
I tell 'em scat, skittle, scabobble
Got hit with a bottle
And I been in the hospital
For talkin' that mess
I confess it's a shame when you livin' in a city
That's the size of a box and nobody knows yo' name
Glad I came to my senses
Like quick-quick got sick-sick to my stomach
Overcommeth by the thoughts of me and her together
Right?
So when I asked her out she said I wasn't her type
(Chorus)

I wish I had a brand-new car
So far, I got this hatchback
And everywhere I go, yo I gets laughed at
And when I'm in my car I'm laid back
I got an 8-track and a spare tire in the backseat
But that's flat
And do you really wanna know what's really whack
See I can't even get a date
So, what do you think of that?
I heard that prom night is a bomb night
With the hood rats you can hold tight
But really tho' I 'm a figaro
When I'm in my car I can't even get a hello
Well so many people wanna cruise Crenshaw on Sunday
Well then I'ma have to get in my car and go
You know I take the 110 until the 105
Get off at Crenshaw tell my homies look alive
Cause it's hard to survive when your livin'
In a concrete jungle and
These girls just keep passin' me by
She looks fly, she looks fly
Makes me say my, my, my
(Chorus)

I wish I was a little bit taller...
I wish I was a baller...
I wish I was a little bit taller y'all
I wish I was a baller

Hey, I wish I had my way
'Cause everyday would be a Friday
You could even speed on the highway
I would play ghetto games
Name my kids ghetto names
Little Mookie, big Al, Lorraine
Yo you know that's on the real
So if you're down on your luck
Then you should notice how I feel
Cause if you don't want me around
See I go simple, I go easy, I go greyhound
Hey, you , what's that sound?
Everybody look what's going down
Ahhhh, yes, ain't that fresh?
Everybody wants to get down like dat
(Chorus)

I wish, I wish, I wish...

how old are you and how many years have you been training .. what's your bf % around

my bf right now is about 17-18% while bulking for a sport i play i simply just ate too much, right now i am trying to slim down to like 10-12 for the summer, keeping my weight between like 190-195, thats the best I have ever got to, like 190-195 and 11% bf.

i'm gonna ask HBS6 that you post your diet, your age, and how long you've been training for in a different thread .. we'd all love to help out i'd just rather not have this thread all cluttered up .. no offense at all seriously

i had to lift ass early this morning as i'm going out of town in a few hours .. i had one meal in me and was tired as balls as i'm not used to lifting this early

quads - i go to two different gyms and the one i went to today is much closer but aside from a power cage and leg ext doesn't offer much for quads, but they have this quasi-hack squat machine that i used

8 plates per side - 25
9 plates per side (max it can hold) - 17

hams - couldn't do GHR at this gym
lying leg curls (weight is the number that is listed on the plate no idea what i translates to)
14 - 10
15 - 8
16 - 4

calves - seated raises
3 plates - 15, 12, 12

bis - db preachers
50's - 10 (per arm)
55's - 7 (per arm)
60's - 2 (per arm) (the wheels kinda feel off there lol)

Do you realize how much work it was to dig up the lyrics to that song?!?!?!

Come on bruh!

That was a seriously good post. I don't think you realize how hard is to find that song.
I haven't heard it in like 12 years or something.

BTW - you got PM about training...

took me 3 seconds to find the lyrics .. just went to yahoo and typed in skee lo lyrics

i can say for certain that the machine makes it much easier than it otherwise would be .. i wish i knew of a better way to describe it

take a picture of it bro.. 8-9 plates a side on any Hack-squat movement is pretty crazy. You are BAD!

Did you ever think about pyramiding up instead of down, like doing high weight/low reps for your first set and ending with light weight/high reps?

4/17

incline hammer strength press
2 plates - 10
2 plates + 25 - 8
2 plates + 35 - 4

rack deads (3-4 inches below knees .. and no beelze and ubiq that is NOT a floor dead for me...)
405 - 10
455 - 8 (PR)

reverse grip pull downs
210 - 10
220 - 8
230 - 6 (PR)

overhead tri ext
90 - 10
95 - 10
105 - 14 (PR)

hammer strength shoulders
2 plates - 10
2 plates + 20 - 7
2 plates + 30 - 4

i would have liked to do DB military press and CG bench but i lifted alone and don't trust many people in my gym to spot me

nice prediction, i would've been all over that.

strong work.

thanks guys .. this was my first day doing an incline movement in months so i'm not as disappointed with that as i otherwise would be

i can definitely say WSB really increased my tri strength .. my previous best had been 95 for 8 on overhead tri ext .. as you can see i clearly shattered that today ... wasn't too bad on the elbows either which was really nice

next time i do rack deads i'll move up a good amount as i probably could have gotten 10 on 455 but felt a slight twinge in the right side of my lower back and didn't want to risk throwing anything out of alignment

btw on a separate note stayed tuned for video of ivydude deadlifting on wed .. should be good

4/19

bis
alternating incline DB curls
50 - 10
60 - 8
65 - 5

quads
hack squats (this hack squat was at like a 35-40 degree angle .. i felt horizontal)
3 plates - 10
4 plates - 10
5 plates - 12

hams
glute/ham raises
BW - 8, 7, 4

calves
seated raises
3 plates - 12, 12, 12

pretty good workout today .. my back is sunburned from the weekend and that KILLED me on hack squats .. but otherwise felt good today

Hey glen did you ever get a chance to look at my diet, I was just curious if you had an opinion about it...thx. By the way, i love this TUT workout, its amazing.

took some new measurements this morning before i go to the gym .. one meal in me about 30 minutes ago

arms went up 1/4 of an inch .. waist down 3/4 of an inch .. everything else remained the same .. will weigh in at the gym

pretty happy about the decrease in waist and increase in arms .. measurements were last taken 3/31 .. so changes were over the course of 3 weeks

4/21

chest
DB press
110 - 10
115 - 8
120 - 7

back thickness
BB rows
235 - 10
245 - 8
265 - 7

back width
wide grip pull ups
BW - 10
BW + 25 - 6
BW + 25 - 6

tris
close grip bench press
225 - 10
245 - 7
255 - 5

shoulders
smith military press
205 - 8
205 - 5

i was totally spent by the time shoulders came about, plus i'm sure the DB press and CGBP took their toll .. i'm not too concerned as shoulders get plenty of work anyway

Last edited:
the entire time i trained WSB (3.5 months) i did shoulders maybe 3 times .. guess what? my shoulders grew and got stronger

I rarely ever train shoulders, and mine have gotten bigger and stronger by doing nothing. Well I do face pulls but I never do presses or anything like that.

you guys feel the rear delts get hit enough, I always hear that they dont without hitting them directly? Oh and Glen, I noticed you dont do any trap work, im sorry if this is a dumb question but why is that?

I don't want to answer for Glen here but for a lot of people they get work their traps and rhomboids through doing their other back work. I know people who have never once trained their traps and they have pretty large traps. I'm the opposite, I train them a lot or else they just won't grow

ktw nailed it .. i feel my traps get plenty of work from deads and rack deads as well as bb rows .. as for rear delts they manage to get hit as well .. compound movements hit a LOT of muscles and i do lots of them :)

awesome, I actually have decent traps, maybe not hitting them directly will help them grow better...

Oh my god GHR's are killer. I thought my hammies were going to snap. They are crazy hard to do bro. No doubt they will improve my other compound moves... thanks for the heads up ;)
