Girlfriends thyroid

So my girlfriend has been experiencing a lot of hypothyroid symptoms over the past year or so, but she just had it tested yesterday and her TSH was 2.8 uIU/mL...should she also ask to have her T3 tested as well? She literally can sleep for over 12 hours straight and the doctor at her work who examined her a month ago said that her thyroid gland was actually visible, which is apparently rare and a sign of deficiency. If her thyroid is sub optimal, is it even possible to fix with supplements or is T3 necessary? Any help would be much appreciated

Does she see an endocrinologist? My girlfriend had blood work done with her physician and they said her levels were normal. She went to a specialist and they said her levels were extremely low and she needed to change the dosage. She’s on. Script for thyroxine (t4)

Thanks for all the responses guys. She just got her T3 and T4 tested and T3 is at 106 ng/dL T4 is 1.2 ng/dL. Should she be concerned? Seems like its in the low range
