Gaming

That is the first I've heard of the steam machines. I don't really see the point though.

I think the point is an easy-to-use PC that is meant to just play games.

It doesn't matter if they like pc gamers more. No matter what system you are on you still bought the game and deserve updates. They ignored consoles pretty much and was just milking us for cash. I mean I got the game free, but still I hear about the updates pc gets and the one update we get was broke

Honestly, and I ask this in all seriousness because I just don't know...do many people still play PC games these days? Maybe it's just because I grew up and started working (which meant the computer turned into something I use for work, not play). I just find that a console meant for games is far better suited for gaming than any PC I ever owned. Full disclosure though, I'm 100% Mac these days.

I prefer PC gaming. My pc steadily outperforms next gen consoles. And it costs less to upgrade my pc than to buy a console.

Of course.

Computers are better, more powerful and to make them jump to the "next gen" you can swap a couple parts and boom you're there.

Plus the games are unified, you don't have to buy a new disc simply because you upgraded. And the controls are completely up to your preference (both which keys do what and which equipment you use).

Honestly I find console gaming kinda stupid since you can't play across consoles ps4-xbox1 and its a waste of money to keep upgrading every 2 years.

There's also the advantage of being able to mod. Which allows certain games literally endless fan-made content.

Have you seen the mods on skyrim?

They're incredible.

Neverwinter Nights 2, has the best mods though. They actually included a DM Toolset for modders and made it really easy to make full campaigns.

The games 15 years old and still has new content weekly.

Dang! I haven't even thought of that game in years. I'll have to dust it off, load it up again, and see what I can find.

It's probably my favorite game. The witcher 2 is a close second though.

Pillars of eternity is on it's way, obsidian's new game that's supposed to be a great throwback to nwn2, baldurs gate, icewind dale, and planescape torment. Which is awesome they really don't make games like that anymore and it's a shame.

The eternity trailer.

I remember playing baldurs gate

I was more of a Quake & Half Life guy back when I played on PC. Shows my age I guess. Personal preference these days is, if I feel like gaming I just turn on the XBox on the big TV and go. Good to see that it's still strong though. I remember when (showing my age again) DSL first came out, we were one of the first people to get it in town and we hosted a Quake server..Lowest ping time = fragging the ever loving crap out of all the slower guys. Good times. LOL

Lol. I actually owned a local ISP an built a server just to host games. It was a lot of fun. Hosted everything from quake to heroes of might and magic. It was a blast.

I used to go down to the LAN cafe after school when I was a kid. Every Friday.

Used to love heroes of might and magic. We also did counter strike, quake, diablo, and Starcraft.

Good times! I miss those days. Maybe I'll have to,see if I can throw together a Lan party...

I just got the newer XCOM for xbox any thoughts?

Have any gamers here? I'm sure I'm not the only gym junkie who plays for a couple hours post workout while feasting away.

Computer Games: Diablo 3, Starcraft 1 & 2, LoL

Xbox: really any and all sports or shooting game

I am into online games. Try Game of Wars...Interactive and fun to play.

You guys were right XCOM Enemy Unknown is the shiz!

I highly recommend Tales From The Borderlands to everyone. They just released the first episode and I believe the new "Tales" game of thrones game is released next week. Definitely worth the 5$ price tag. Or the 20$ for all the future episodes.

Also I saw Madden 15 and Borderlands the pre sequel on amazon Black Friday priced at 25$ brand new.

So I've logged about ten hours into Dragon Age: Inquisition. It's an awesome game. Nice little mix between the witcher and elder scrolls. That said, it's a glitchy nightmare. They need some patches immediately.

Going to pick up the telltale Game of Thrones next.

My Xmas gift from my parents was spoiled, getting a Wii U

Always been an Xbox guy, unsure what titles to try out for this any suggestions?

Always loved Super Smash Bros so that one for sure

I see two Zelda titles out already, is Hyrule Warriors any good?

Just got a Wii ins few weeks ago, love it! Definitely get smash bros and Mario kart 8. I haven't had much time to play but both new super Mario bros and Mario 3d land are so far so good. There's a new Zelda coming out next year, liking to be awesome

I use second gen i7 laptop for gaming

As for graphics there's typically no room but the integrated graphics work fine you just gotta lower resolution and other settings.

Some come with a light graphics card with some dedicated memory which is pretty good really improves performance but I doubt you can swap out to something better.

I just ordered a gigabyte laptop with an 870 vid card with 6g gddr5, 16 g ram, and an i7 processor for about $1350. It should be a pretty good gamer. Oh, and I got it in 15" so I can use it on a plane a little easier.
