Game of the Week: Philly at Atlanta

Not to turn this into a Niners thread, but I think the Philly offense is much worse than the Rams. Pressuring McNabb is the answer... when he gets pressure he looks like a 5 year old who's lost his doll.
Agreed, besides, I started this thread.

I didn't see allot of the game but McNabb looked horrible. Every time I turned it on his passes were hitting everyone in the foot and no running game. They definitely didn't look like the eagles of last year. Maybe all the crap with TO messed them up or they have the super bowl curse.

I dont wanna be the guy to say I told you so but..... haha. Now I await all the excuses for the loss....i did nothing of the sort, whenever i go on a board or to my friends about how whatever team is going to win they never do. when i sit back and think it to myself usually good things happen. i never once thought philly would win going into tonight's game, trotter or no trotter. like i said, supersticious, not pessimistic.

You have to admit the team that played last night was not the eagles of last years form.

You mean Vick/McNabb looked horrible... neither had a clue.

Vick always plays like that. He is usually 10-12 compl. out of 20-24 attempts for 150 yards or so with 60-100 yards rushing. Which is why I said he is the most over rated QB in the game.

Yep, and it disgusts me. He can't complete a pass to save his life... but I guess if you can run for your life it's just as good. Still.... I can't yet adjust to the fact that a guy who flat out can't pass, period, can be a successful QB in the NFL...

well in retrospect, who is to say that the eagles are going to match the team they were last year? mcnabb got popped pretty good early in the game and he wasnt the same after so maybe there is a way to make the eagles ordinary just like there are ways to contain vick. deangelo hall shut down TO pretty damn well, yeah he got his catches but none in the endzone. and westbrook wasnt much of a factor in the run game. atl's defense is good contrary to popular belief. i see atl is still not getting much respect but that's fine. theyve always done better in the underdog role.

doubtful. if there's one thing about TO is that he doesnt really take plays off. i didnt see him alligator arm any passes and he went over the middle a few times. hall did a great job against him in most cases and mcnabb's injury probably had an effect on the way he threw the ball the other times. i never understood why someone would try to avoid injury/slack off when theyre trying to get a raise, ya know? especially in his case, the last thing he needs is more bad press around the league.

McNabb had a piss poor game for sure... Had he played to his potential a blowout would have happened...

Yes Atl. D is good at home... but when they hit the road they forget to pack it... Week 7 Eagles will be the #1 seed and never look back so pack your thermals...

For those that doubt the influnce of JTrott look at the numbers from the NFC Champ and last night... And then think where every Falcon run went

It`s funny my life is much more interesting when the Birds lose... all the Eagles haters tend to try and find me... we win no one wants to talk:aargh:

Some wisdom from today:

McNabb isn`t even one of the top 10 QB`s-Cowboys fan
There done thats it... it`s over-Giants fan
You will be lucky to go 7-9-Redskin fan
Vick tore the Eagles a new asshole-Falcon fan... I particularly enjoy this one... wonder if we watched the same game?
You should have kept A.J. Feely-Dolphin fan

Anyway a heavy weight fight isn`t 1 round... and seeing that Atl. won the Super Bowl last night we should just cancel the season:drunk:

We gave you A.J. for Reggie Brown(2nd round pick) and I am glad Fiedler didn`t stay here either...

Is Mcnabb injured? I wasn't aware of that.......

Yeah he pretty much took the cake with bad press in preseason. He's one of the best in the NFL, it's too bad he's such an a hole.

No... x-rays and MRI are in... verdict: Bruised chest

Atlanta roasted those dudes. Very good game but I wish that Vick would play a lot better though. Three fumbles isn't how a quaterback is suppose to play is there.

DeAngelo Hall Kept T.O outta the endzone..that was tight,,,once Vick gets used to the West Coast Offense he will be killing teams.

he was in the west coast offense all of last year... so... yeah... that might be never

I agree with that, a lot of teams just have slow starts and take up to 4 games to get rolling. I would be heavily concerned if I was an Eagles and they choke to the greatest franchise of all time this week though :D

On another board I said my Niners were going to come back strong and win the NFC this year (ok, ok, settle down). If they beat the Eagles then I can continue my boasting! Of course, I don't truly believe they can do.... yet, but you know, SF fans haven't had a reason to smile in quite some time.
If they stay healthy than they just might because the division is so weak. I just really hope Barlow can turn things around. He will be the X-factor IMO. If he can't get the job done by week 4 then give the job to Frank Gore. They'll also get Eric Johnson back this week and he will be huge plus. The defense just amazed me. If they rush the passer like they did last week then they have a shot of being competitive every week. I liked how they had diverse coverages and blitz packages. Bulger didn't know where they were coming from. Another concern was how the 49ers almost let a 28-9 lead nearly slip away. I blame this on their inability to run the ball and take time off the clock.
