GAG REFLEX PLEASE HELP

This past week and a half ive had a very sensitive gag reflex, I cant eat anything. My dad says this is the result of me eating 20tbsp of peanut butter everyday. He believes i have "messed up my stomach" Ive also read online that too much fat can cause nausea. However i dont know how else to meet my caloric needs without eating high fat. If i were to follow a normal macro split of low fat and high carbs it would be way too hard to meet my caloric needs. My strength has gone down due to the decrease in calories. At this point im considering making an appointment with a nutritionist. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

Not to be offensive but that seems something that parents say to make you listen to them. Like watching TV to close makes you blind.
But on the other hand. That might be the cause. What kind of peanut butter is it? Nearly natural or with alot of add-ons?
I know I've had times when I ate a lot of nuts and didn't have any such problems. But might be sth about peanut butter or ersonal to you.

Sorry but I don't have solutions for the gag reflex. But what to eat for macros? How about just nuts? Macadamia are best, no downsides to eating a large handful or 2 every day. Brazil nuts and almonds are good too but perhaps not best to eat every day. Nuts (peanuts) are best if soaked and roasted.

Lol no offense taken, whenever something bad happens to me my dad will say "see i told you".
And yes I eat organic peanut butter, all it has is salt and peanuts. But im gagging even when i dont eat fat. So Im not entirely sure if this is related to my fat intake. I really hope someone else can chime in on this.

I've been on a low carb high fat diet for months and never had an issue! I doubt it's the peanut butter what a feat though 20tbsp a day! Your jaw must be strong!
What supps are you taking? Anything new? How much water to you drink? Do you have many rest periods, it could just be your body's way of saying slow down, especially the decrease in strength! Even just considered you might have a virus or bug? Could even be anxiety! If it persists and you think it's a real issue go to your doctor, diet should not effect the gag reflex unless you are eating sh1T

I honestly have no idea, all im taking for supps is b complex and tudca, im not eating any junkfood whatsoever. I doubt its a virus because i dont have any stomach pain or anything like that, i just start gagging whenever i eat a lot of food. i train four days a week so i know im not overtraining.

That is weird! Just because you don't feel ill doesn't mean you don't have something haha Zika virus for instance! If it's just when you eat LOTS of food you may have answered your own question, try spacing your meals out more? What's you typical eating like?

I eat about 6 meals a day, i dont eat these in any specific order but i eat tuna sandwiches, 2 peanut butter shakes with 10tbsp in each, eggs with sausage, granola bars, banana, and a bag of nuts unsalted

That doesn't seem like so many cals you couldn't eat much less pb and more Whole Foods...

If you're not over like 5000 cals then you're def not eating what I would call "a ton"

Maybe ur oesophagus is fatigued from gulping down all that pb. In this case, it may spasm everytime u try and swallow. Try blending all ur food with heaps of water for a couple days.

I used to be able to eat 4000 EASY, now i have to force feed myself and gag to reach 3000

Ok I was thinking it could have been nerves from anxiety, that can happen I've seen it before, I could also be too much salt leading to dehydration from the pnb, also your throat muscles are fatigued due to trying to neck all that pnb, I'd mix it
In your shakes, or anything to basically get rid of the consistency of the pnb, try that for a week and see what happens

Its weird because i do blend my peanut butter into shakes and i still gag, my guess is that drinking 1000 calories will digest all at once and then make me feel sick. If i were to EAT 1000 cals worth of peanut butter i would start to get full at around 500. Its like smoking weed vs wax. If you were to try to smoke 10 grams of nugs you would be struggling after 3. But if you smoke the equivalent in wax, you can smoke it all at once but it will hit you like a train later on, i hope that made sense lol

Ok seems like wee all saying the same things, why
Not change out the peanut butter to something else buddy?!

Lol yeah first time i tried that with oil i greened on a tuesday and woke up on a thursday.

Thanks bro but i already do that, i blend it and it basically turns into chocolate milk, it is not thick at all, im not sure if i have "anxiety" i feel like everyone diagnoses themselves with that these days lol but i do get very nervous whenever i walk into school, some days worse than others, some days in class my heart will pound incredibly fast because of the thought of me raising my hand and asking a question

Love the smoke reference but you've probably hit the nail on the head, a whole tub at a time is insane! I think anyone would gag haha why not just add a few table spoons of extra virgin olive oil or coconut oil into a shake? 1tbsp of olive oil or coconut oil is like 145kcal, coconut has added benefits of MCTs also

I swear I knew/ know it's nerves bro, nothing to do with supplements or anything your eating, it's all in the head, it's a difficult situation but you are the only one that can overcome this, it's not easy, sit yourself Down and ask yourself why am I nervous/ anxious? Then once you have targeted the main reason you then need to take on that reason and solve the issues you have with it, you can't live like that, anything can be solved. Speak to your best friend and your dad if you feel you can talk to him, if it's to do with college then speak to a teacher you trust.. but all this has to come from you, you are the only one that can help yourself! Now go out there with your head held up high and be proud of yourself and what you have achieved. Nobody can put you down!

Haha thanks bro, even though i am anxious a lot of the time i never let it get in the way of meeting new people or asking questions in class. Im just wondering if it is the nerves, why now? Ive never had a problem with appetite

Update: so my gag reflex went away guys. The only change i made was to stop eating so much peanut butter in one sitting lol. Or just high fat just in general, ive switched to a low fat high carb and moderate protein macro split and i feel fine now

Haha thought as much, that was too much at one time! Still remember fats are important! Try keep your fats atleast 50g a day! And the high carb diet you will pack on a hell of a lot more fat than a high fat, high protein, low carb

Of course still eating enough fats, but not as much as before and carbs will be much higher
