Forskolin+GDA Interaction

I run PerforMax's Labs' SlinMax pretty much year round and have recently introduced PES' Shift into my supplement stack to help lean up a little.
I came across some comments in a thread that mentioned that you shouldn't take Forskolin and certain GDA ingredients (i.e. Berberine) together or near each other, as they can cancel each other out and/or cause adverse effects.
I would just like to know if this is true or if anybody has any further insight/info on this?

How much do u think the stuff ur taking now are helping, caloriewise

SlinMax has been very helpful in reducing bloating after heavier carbohydrate meals, I definitely notice a difference when I take breaks from it. In regards to calories the SlinMax just makes better use of the carb calories you consume, i.e. helps to send it to leaner tissues and not so much to lipid tissues and helps reduce the Insulin influx after meals.
The Forskolin in Shift activates the cAMP pathway which, amongst many other things, increases fatty acid oxidization and BMR.
So in terms of fatloss we have
Lower Insulin Levels
Better Nutrient Uptake Into Lean Tissue
Fatty Acid Oxidization
Increased BMR

kbayne drops a lot of GDA knowledge. Here is his past thoughts.
Woo! I thought I had heard something like that before. Is muscle catabolism (reported from berberine), overly-exaggerated? I assumed that if it's even an issue, it would only be a minor issue on a cut but wanted to make sure. I'm not worried about catabolism per se, since I'm on a bulk, but could it inhibit growth to a degree?
posted by Kbayne. Its ability to increase AMPK can inhibit muscle hypertrophy to a certain degree, but with heavy resistance training, practically a non-issue. So to answer your question, yes, it is over exaggerated IMO.

Well I'm on a lean bulk/recomp, using the SlinMax to help with the nutrient partitioning and the Shift to help maintain a little leaness
I'm dosing 2 Shift on an empty stomach about 45 minutes before and then I take 2 SlinMax about 15 minutes later, around 30 minutes before my largest meal. Is this too close or is there a better way to dose these for a greater effect?
Hopefully kbayne can chimb in.

^^^ Like said above taken around your largest carb meal is the most common dose.

Take slinmax 10-20 mins before a big carb meal, works for me

That's what I do. I just want to know whether taking the Forskolin from the Shift 15 minutes before taking SlinMax would cancel out the effects of either compound...

If you can split the doses up a bit more I would, but you will still reap the benefits of both products. I use Slinmax almost year round, and I've run foskolin products along side with it and I've still felt the benefits of Slinmax. I wouldn't stress it too much

How far could I dose them apart before my biggest meal to reap the metabolism boosting benefits from Shift and the GDA benefits from SlinMax?

I typically take slinmax 20-30 minutes before a meal, and if I'm using a product that contains forskolin I will take it while I'm eating. It depends on how you tolerate forskolin. Some people can take it without food and feel fine, and others have GI distress when taking it without food. If you can stomach it without food then Shift can be taken at any time. There is not direct benefit to taking it at or around meals

Nice! But I just spend like $175 on supplements lol... and I need to get some PWO and BCAAs.....

$175 and no PWO or BCAA? Dang man, what the heck did you buy?!

I would say Slinmax > BCAA. Depending on your current goals, BCAA's aren't usually needed. Your money would be better spent elsewhere IMO, and Slinmax is a great product on a great sale

I bought 2 bottles of MassMax XT and 2 bottles of Somatozine! I'm going to run these two together, with my mesomorph... that I almost have no more left of, which is why I want to get a new PWO... and as for the BCAAs, I've got some glutamine lying around lol... but no normal BCAAs, I'll proably get some Radiate PWO and some cheap BCAAs from a regular sports store here...

This isn't with respect to berberine being combined with forskolin. Berberine + forskolin is not an optimal combination if you're using forskolin for a cut because forskolin works via cAMP and berberine has a negative effect on cAMP induced lipolysis.

True, it was more in reference to lean bulk. For the most part, 3 hours apart is general rule correct?

I take my SlinMax 20-30 minutes before my biggest meal too.
I'm pretty Forskolin tolerant, I've taken 100mg of 95% Forskolin on empty stomach in the past with no adverse effects.
I read that it's best to take Shift around 30-45 minutes before a meal as the Olive leaf extract and other ingredients can help stimulate and boost the metabolism and that the Forskolin has potential nutrient partitioning effects, which are both beneficial for negating lipogenesis.

Between forskolin and berbernine. It's a non confirmed time that a lot of people recommend.

Remember when your eating your turniin of fat burning briefly I wouldn't worry too much

If in a product together it's there for the partioning effect not for fat burning
