First cycle

I havent read through the whole thread but i just want to say i dont get why people are always saying you need to get lean before running gear. Ive ran gear higher in bf with no sides to speak of. And guess what? I wasnt higher in bf after the cycle. Getting lean is sooooo much easier on gear. That being said i DO believe that you need to have a strong base of lifting and nutrition knowledge before running a cycle or gear wont do you any good. Knowledge and lifting experience= a must. Needing to be at the golden, ever sought after 15% before touching gear? Complete BS

Well, not complete “bs” to be at a lower bf. now, should the standard be 15%? No. But, there is a correlation between higher BF and lower insulin sensitivity, that’s why you store fat easier at a higher bf. While AAS cause a cascade of hormone fluctuations it would be wiser to get lean(ish) before cycling.

Many AAS increase insulin sensitivity though. Testosterone is great for that actually.

I would simply suggest that one familiarize themselves thoroughly with training, and figure out a nutrition plan that works, make a strong habit of it, figure out their body, and THEN use AAS or other PEDs to lean out fully while gaining a bit of muscle mass and strength (the perfect cycle) and that should be the aim of their first time out. Maintenance calories, high protein.

That’s why I said “AAS cause a cascade of hormone fluctuations” ~ insulin being a hormone.

Lower body fat = better insulin response. Starting a cycle with better insulin response would be ideal, IMO.
