first bulking cycle: I want to keep my gains!

washingtonirvin said:
I am reluctant to do a Test Base TD cycle because I want to keep my gains. Are the gains any easier to keep with TD t base than they are with injectible suspension?

How would the gains on this differ in their retainability from that of a blend?
Retaining gains is more about your diet and routine s/p cycle. You can't possible expect to put on 10# of muscle in 6 weeks. On any steroid the true muscle gain is masked by expanded blood volume, water retention, and possibly increased glycogen storage(assumed not fact as far as I know).

If you follow your cycle with an adequate normalization period (PCT) you should have no problem maintaining 4-6# of your gains. That was my experience.

I don't know that I won't have an adverse reaction to a blend, Jared. But I do know that blends, and in particular Sustanon, are wildly popular, and propionate only cycles exist mostly in the minds of steroid literati.

If you do a google search for "propionate cycle", you may see the reason why. Propionate logs read like horror stories.

OK, it's not like Requiem for a Dream where the guy's arm has to be amputated, but I have yet to see a log written by a happy propionate-only cycler. And I want to be happy.

My desire for happiness inclines me toward option 2.

You didn't look very hard

If you are worried about prop pain cut it with a sterile oil ie grapeseed.

I also think transdermal cycle is a good option for you as well.

Keeping gains = solid PCT + solid diet

Thank you Popa Murph. That is an extremely helpful thread, and it leads me to believe that there are in fact ways to make prop bearable. You give me hope. I may just be able to do a cycle that helps me put on mass without alienating the entire AM community.

I hope I haven't done that already. I sincerely appreciate everyone's replies, and I appreciate your patience.

Look out for my prop log.

For my diet, check out my post from Yesterday, 06:19 PM.

Thanks again.

10lbs in 6 weeks is going to be mainly fat and water ... you cannot, no matter what, gain that much muscle mass in 6 weeks

A new short ester - Phenylpropionate - is supposedly pain free - I have not used it - I have heard this. You might want to see if your source has that too.

PhenylPropionate is neither new, nor pain free.

New to alot of sources is it not? It has not been widely used and it's more expensive than regular prop. I've never used it - have you? I'm curious why it's more expensive too.

It's the same price at my supermarket. :) I suppose it is "new" as a sole compound in the UG circles, but it's been available for a long time, as it is used in blends.

I've used Test PhenyProp in hopes it was less painful than Test Prop, but had the same level of pain.

Nandrolone PhenylProp is painless in my experience though.
