Because I'm new to gear, I've just been reading up about how to actually inject from an ampoule which obviously involves snapping the top off. Apparently there's a risk that glass shards could fall into the ampoule after you've snapped it and that you should use a filter needle to get some of the shards out. I was just wondering what filter needles are; if filter needles are necessary; and, if so, where I might be able to get any?
For my cycle I have two hypodermic needles for every syringe – 20GX1½. Are hypodermic needles the same as filter needles? Or can the ones I have be used as a replacement? I’m totally new to needles and the stuff I can find on here when I search for needles is either a) from a vial which I don’t need because I’m drawing from an ampoule with glass shards apparently, and b) from people making home-made gear which I’m not doing!!
