Fighting off the Dad Bod (B.A.S.I.S.+Formeron)

Are you located in the US? That's a short trip if Wed and Saturday are travel days. But I did just see that Paris opened up the Seine to public swimming at certain spots, wo you could try to get that in!
I'm from an Island off the UK called Guernsey, in the British Channel, so conveniently its right next to France, about 2 hours by boat!

Zero sleep last night so happy I went at all. Skipped Pullups/EZ bar curl. Didn't realise there was the additional 2 x 2.3kg weights on the preacher curls so did some lifetime PR's today accidently which was quite nice. No cardio & only 1 dog walk today. A bit of a disaster.
 
One of my kids is really sick still, going to have to take today as a forced rest day to look after her as my partner has to take my other daughter to kiddy classes. Will take her out in the pram so I can get some steps in at least. Will hit chest & shoulders tomorrow, then France; then legs on Saturday.

So, we are all sick. Not ideal. Tried to go to the gym at 8am this morning, Face pulls went okay, then moved to incline bench. First rep boom, instant migraine and black spots on my eyes. Had to leave the gym instantly then spend the next hour trying not to throw up. Just shook the headache now, 6 hours later.

Not thrilled with missing 4 days in a row because of this + France but can't do much about it. Will just keep calories high and not worry about it
 
Jesus, the amount of food I’ve eaten the last 2 days. Do not want to step on a scale when I get home tomorrow.
At least we’re walking 15k-20k steps a day

Added in some new stuff as gym got new equipment. As France cost me so much time off the gym, going to stick to 3 days on 1 day off to catch up.

Feel fat as F**k from France, so will be upping cardio aswell.

Unfortunately going heavy with high reps on the cable pullovers has given me some painful elbow tendinitis, which subsequently messed up the rest of the workout. Spoke to the gym owner today who said the Nautilus pullover machine should be here in the next week or so, so will sideline pullovers until then.

Did some heavy incline walking for cardio today which felt great & was sweating buckets.

Looking extremely full at the moment which feels fantastic, even with 5 days off.

Weight & photo taken first thing fasted so I can compare to original. Its in a different room and lighting is a bit different but I would say I've put on some noticeable size, especially on the shoulders.

So far +5kg (11lbs). Feel I’ve managed to not put on too much fat, just need to keep the cardio up. Did a leg day yesterday, will post later when Ive typed it up on my PC.

Overall very happy with progress. +11lbs in a month is solid. Everything has been great so far, libido, recovery & general mood.

Only negative is I’ve had quite a few headaches recently, but that might be because I’m applying formeron to my neck and traps. Apparently applying androgens to these areas can cause cluster headaches, so will avoid.

I got some AndroLo Pro in the mail this morning (topical 3AD), so will be adding this in for the last 6-8 weeks.

Was in a massive rush for this session as we took the girls to the beach, so minimal volume. I know its not good to have only a 40min session on leg day but couldn't do much about it. Will be doing legs again on Monday to play catch up.

I jumped quite a lot on incline bench today and reps were low. Going to stick on this weight until I can get 12 accross the board. By the time I got to close grip I was absolutely fried. I need to change up my order somehow. I enjoy prioritising the side delts early but it makes the rest of my session near impossible to finish with good mind muscle connection as my delts are on fire.

Used it this morning for chest and I really really enjoyed it. I didn't take my PWO and it still felt like I was massively in the zone, more so than when I take my PWO. After cardio my body was very very warm. 10/10 so far, just a bit sad how expensive it is in the UK.

Thanks man, I'm surprised with the recomp considering I spent 6 days in total not training when I was in France and eating like a fatty. Its keeping me motivated for sure
 
Just realised, doing side laateral raises every day, this is what is causing me headaches. Is there anything I can do to prevent these headaches? I imagine its lots of tension stored in the neck/traps.

It would be ideal to be able to keep training my traps and side delts as I've gotten really good results, but I cant deal with these constant headaches every day

(today is a rest day and no headache at all)

2 days in 1 here as I forgot to post an update yesterday. Been dealing with a very sore lower back recently which is why most of the lifts have stayed the same as last time on these 2 days. Not sure whats caused it, but I'm not going to be an idiot and push for PRs with a sore back and potentially injure myself.

Have been doing the treadmill at 4mph with level 18 gradient (max level) recently and holy crap what a workout it is. My calves are on fire and I'm sweating buckets by the end of the 20 mins.

The pump from Androlo Pro is incredible. My delts/biceps today on back day were massive and veins were poking out of everywhere, definitely gives you an "ON" look. For dosing I'm just doing 2 pumps PWO (workout days only) spread accross my chest/delts/arms. Today I put a little extra on my rear delts and it gave them a monster look after doing single arm sideways reverse flies. Worth noting my sleep quality has improved on the days I use this.

Sorry to hear about the low back issues though. I also have issues ongoing that I am using CurcuPrime XPG for and PEA relief (that one more for my shoulder issue, more acute). Might be worth giving it a shot if you need something to counteract and have some extra funds.

We've had the night from hell the last few nights. One of our daughters keeps waking up at 00.30 and wont go back down until 03.30....then the second daughter wakes up at 05.30, so running on about 3 hours sleep a day.

My pressing was really awful today. I dont know whether its because I maxxed out on rear delts first, or because I'm massively sleep deprived. Will try hitting incline bench first next session. Spent a bit too long in the gym lifting (1 hour 30) but wanted to make up for such a shitty bench today.

Sadly again I'm sitting here with a headache after doing shrugs today....I've been researching what to do & its either quit shrugs completely or try Kelso shrugs, so will give them a go next session.

I'm going to try bump formeron to 10 pumps a day and see what happens. I wouldn't mind some additional anabolism and that way I can stick my heels in the mud and continue this bulk. Right now I'm feeling very fat but I feel if I can go for another 7-8 weeks I'll give my body the chance to actually build some retainable muscle and then most likely cut down and try to get some abs.

Delts were looking juicy today so snagged a little pic to remind myself I am making gains, it’s not all fat 😂

Lower back feeling better today and it showed in my lifts. Everything has gone up since last session which is great, lots of PB's today

Sorry to hear the sleep troubles! I forget if you mentioned how old your kids are right now, but I think pretty young if I remember. So, just saying that this is a phase - and it will pass!

My kids are in the middle of some bad sleep habits too, not like yours, but still enough to make me grumpy/sleepy at times. But again, I know I'll come out the other side soon enough.

Also, looking juicy bro the Formeron is working!

Theyre 10 months old. It seems every few weeks its a new sleep regression! I normally soldier on if its 4-5 hours sleep but 2 hours sleep was just too little, I'll end up injuring myself.

Formeron definitely doing its thing. Embracing that sweet sweet e2 haha.

It's not bad at all though as formeron almost instantly dries, within 15 seconds. Androlo stays on top of the skin more but I shower it off 2-3hours later after the gym, as my partner isn't a fan of how it smells.

Dang brother, thats a lot of TD lotion! I actually only used 4 pumps / day when I ran Formeron and still had good results. I can't imagine 10 though. I just run out of real estate!

1 on each delt + traps, 1 on each chest + bicep & 1 on stomach. Seems to fit nicely & I'm much smaller than you!
 
Still operating on 2 hours of sleep, but went to the gym yesterday just to get the blood flowing as mentally I'm struggling with not being able to workout.

Just chucked some things together and tried to hit the body as a whole. I have a busy morning with work today but if I can get away I'll train chest+shoulders as the girls let me have 5 hours of sleep last night.

This whole sleep deprivation thing is so brutal. I've probably missed 15 training days total so far due to not having sleep, can't begin to imagine the results I'd have got if my sleep was dialled in!
 
Ok little update as I haven’t been posting.

Both my daughters have Hand, Foot & Mouth, hence the sleepless nights. It’s been horrendous. Spots all over their body, inside their mouth etc. it’s been impossible to even work let alone get to the gym. Diet has suffered also. I don’t even want to weigh myself but I’ve definitely lost some weight.

The girls seem to be getting better finally so should be normal from tomorrow. I’ve decided to sideline the Androlo Pro for another run. It’s expensive stuff and with it being an uncertainty whether I can train consistently I want to save it for a time I’ll get some value from it.

I did get to the gym 3 times this week, although only for 30 min sessions but feel as if this week overall has been incredibly unproductive.

Oh well let’s keep pushing forward and get after it. I imagine this is going to be a consistent trend with my kids as they grow up, especially when they start Nursery. And because it’s twins, if 1 gets it, the other one will!

Thanks brother, it's all angles and lighting. I'm only a few lbs heavier than you, but that's also a pretty old picture. If I had to place a guess, I was probably about 165 lbs there. But since I'm quite a bit shorter than you, I do hold my mass differently.

Hope the family recovers soon!

Sorry for not posting guys, lifes been very busy. I'm still gyming albeit not with the same intensity I was before. Lifts are still progressing, although I've dropped the weight on some exercises as I felt my form was suffering.

Weighed myself this morning at 82.2kg. I'm not sure I'll make the full 12 weeks on the bulk, might stop at week 10 as I'm feeling very fluffy. However my mood is fantastic daily, libido is off the charts (sometimes its actually a bit distracting). Coming from someone who hasn't had much of a sex drive the last 10 years or so due to mini/fini this alone has been an extreme quality of life upgrade.

I'm not exactly sure if its the formeron or the BASIS causing the extreme libido, but as long as they are both in stock I think I will continue to run them during maintenance/cutting. Formeron I will drop back to 6 pumps. Lets hope BASIS becomes available again shortly. I think I still have 5 weeks or so left of it so I should be fine
 
Well, the libido effects could be coming from both. BASIS has horny goat weed so that will definitely increase libido, and Formeron has DHEA plus the atriplex as an anti-e compound.
 
Well….the bulk is almost over I guess! We are in week 8 and very close to my goal of +22lbs.

I’m not sure how to proceed once I hit 85kg. Is there a certain length of time you guys like to stay at your bulk weight before starting a cut? I would kind of like my body to recognise 85kg as my new base weight, but wondering how long it takes for that to become the new norm of maintenance.

Typically I tell ppl to go into maintenance for a while and try to maintain those new strength gains. I hate saying it like this because it's one of those things I've heard on the internet a million times but, "solidify the gains you've made in size and strength."

Don't cut during PCT ever. That's the worst anyone can do and I used to see people say it all the time I'm just going to cut a little bit of this extra fat off during post-cycle therapy. And what really happens is your hormones are crashed and you're not going to cut any fat, your body is going to hold on to fat and get rid of any newly acquired muscle. Simply for the fact that you're hormones are in a crappy place for supporting muscle.

Also when your calories are low your ability to make hormones is lower so eating in a defect while you're trying to get your testosterone levels back up is also counterproductive for hormonal recovery.

My best guess is to make it through PCT, then spend another month maintaining and then start making assessments
 
Just tested my flat bench today and managed 110kg x 6. At the start of this log I did 90 x 5 so chest strength has been insane, absolutely buzzing, lifetime PB by a long way
