Hello, I am what you call skinny fat Naturally thin guy I work out squats bench pullups etc.. but I just want my abs in I have been doing fasting 16 hours plus for a while but seeing less results I guess my body has acclimated I do not like to eat during the day I was thinking of doing a morning protein shake 3 hours later another Then a high protein fat no carb dinner at night Im 57 so there is that but can anyone suggest a diet that is close to that or something better with supplements to fat burn I have been doin Alpha lean 7 which is like rocket fuel and am open to all suggestions I just want to get ripped I appreciate you guys Thanks!

Diet=caloric deficit. All styles of diets work as long as your eating the appropriate amount of calories. So you can keep your diet just as is. Figure out how many calories per day you have been eating and subtract 200 calories or so. When progress stalls, subtract another 200 calories or so. The alternative to dropping calories is doing more cardio or steps or X amount of some activity over your current baseline. In its simplest form, you have to either move more, or eat less.

I don't mean this negatively at all - it's a site glitch, but some people aren't nice when pointing it out, so I try to post when I see it and help teach people about it. When you posted this, it actually posted the thread a bunch of times.

When you'll type a post, the screen won't refresh, so you'll think it doesn't post but it does. Go to the forum you meant to post in and refresh and your thread will appear.

If this does accidentally happen, you can click the report button on your thread and in the reason, put 'accidental duplicate' and the admin will delete them.

Smont gave a good reply above about the basics of calories in, calories out.

There is no one best diet because different diets work differently for different people.

Like for me, what works best is 4 to 6 small meals a day with a serving of protein at each meal and then I adjust carbs based on my particular goal at the time. But that may not work best for you - you may respond best to fasting or eating within a certain time frame. I know I don't just from experience trying it.

For supplements, there are a lot of great options. Normally I go into a lot of great detail on this, but sometimes I think my posts go into more detail than people want sometimes.

Here's a list of what I would do, and how I choose fat burners:
For people that consider themselves skinny fat, the term skinny fat often refers to people that have a lot of visceral fat.

Ab-Solved is perfect for people that have a lot of visceral fat, as it is a localized formula that is designed to help target visceral fat. Keep in mind, this isn't some infomercial type topical fat burner that promises results but is really just pulling water out. It's a scientifically designed formula that delivers the active ingredients directly to the target areas, which gives you the chance to target burning them.

No worries. I did it for you this time - I clicked on report on the other ones besides this one and put that it was an accidental duplicate. The Admin will delete them when he sees them.

Thanks bro really love this site and sorry for that

It's no problem at all. The only reason I mentioned it is that I've seen times where some people weren't very nice about it when it happens, and its just a site glitch that people don't know about until they read about. So I try to explain it nicely when I see it happen - that way it helps the person that did it and also maybe helps someone that reads and hasn't posted yet know about it.

It's just bothered me in the past when I've seen cases of people being really not so nice about it, because I know that that can sometimes cause people to not post anymore or leave AM with a negative impression.

Awesome stuff brother Definitely buying Lean Edge Could I take it along with Thermagize XT?

building off what the guys have already said, why not fire up a training log here on the forum and post it in this thread? You have a mixture of competitive powerlifters and bodybuilders in this group who could give you some pointers on your daily training in addition to the nutrition/supps/cardio already suggested...

Yep, CICO, man. It's amazing how many of us go to great lengths to find other reasons for why we can't lose body fat when it all comes down to this simple equation. Increasing energy output takes a backseat to eating at a caloric deficit hands down.

we humans have so much information coming at us now days that we often miss the simple stuff and have to take a step back to understand it.

I’ve been there, too! I used to do a lot of fasting and still wasn’t seeing the results I wanted. What really helped me was adjusting my approach to meals.

The protein shake in the morning sounds solid, and I found that adding a healthy snack a few hours later can keep your metabolism going without feeling too full. I switched to more whole foods, focusing on lean proteins and healthy fats, and it made a difference.

I also started using exercise.com to track my meals and workouts, which helped me stay accountable. Supplementing with things like green tea extract or L-carnitine can also aid fat burning, but make sure to check with a doc first.

FWIW increasing meal frequency or eating every “x” hours doesn’t increase metabolism.

Just find the eating frequency and duration that best allows you to stick to the intake you need to continue to lose.

In my experience, there are no "supplements that burn fat (directly, other than DNP)" - within this context, you only have several options.

1. Stimulants - lower hunger, increase heart rate. Not a good choice beyond coffee IMO
2. GLP1s - I have had amazing success with Retatrutide. Semaglutide sucked. Nothing else seems to put my crazy appetite under control like Reta.
3. DNP - Ran this several times. Solid no-go for me. Stay away.

That being said, I do not think it is wise to lean into any sort of a supplement to manifest the difference. Supplements are there to supplement a program/regimen that is already producing the desired effect. If your weight loss has seemingly stopped, supplements should not be your go to. Personally, I would stay precisely where you are at (if it works for you) + toss in 20-30 min of daily cardio.

What did it for me:

I struggled with skinny fat/fat loss for decades. It wasn't until I got an updated DEXA scan this last August that I told myself, "f-this, I cannot live with this any longer". That can gave me the roadmap to implement aggressive change. The results on my followup DEXA 4 mos. later: dropped 30lbs, went from a 36" to 30" waist, bodyfat from 26% to 9%, while muscle mass increased. How did I do that? I went on a PSMF (protein sparing modified fast) for the first few weeks, LEAN protein with very little carbs and fat. I saw results within the first week. I also went full blast on several peptides & other compunds to enhance fat loss and lean mass gains (i.e. tesamorelin, cjc, ipamorelin, AOD-9604, PEG-MGF, IGF1-LR3 and DES, BPC-157, TB500, KS-10, testagen, injectable carnitine, etc.). I was also taking enclomiphene 25mg/day to keep my T levels optimized. I would say the diet was responsible for 75-80% of my recomp, the compounds and supps did the rest. I kept my training up @ 5-6 days/week, coupled with fasted cardio. I am 65 and now in the best shape of my life. If I can do it, SO CAN YOU. It's a mindset. I just finally programmed myself to do it.
