Turned 35 about a month ago.. damn I wish time would slow down!!!!!!!!

i feel the same.. well much better than i did at 20. actually i feel the best i have ever felt as i have been training daily for a long time and still notice results without any sort of slow-down due to aging.

I know, 35 isn't that old. I thought it was once, and now im actually feeling sh***y about future birthdays for the first time lol like damn now im getting to 40 already!?

I don't mean any disrespect to older guys.. I'm just saying it's weird because I feel young still. Hopefully this continues, as I see some guys here and really all over these days are freaking jacked in their older years, it's insane! I know trt is some of it but still, it's cool to age if I get to keep making progress in the gym and in life.

I noticed the site is kind of dead and wanted to post as I love it here, lots of good advice and experienced people. I never have to post because when i search the forums i find my answers.

Here's to progress, year by year no matter how old we get or if its mental or physical or financial!!!!! 🍷🍺🍻

Turned 54 a little over a month ago and i have to say it feels weird being the same age as old people. :) Seriously though great outlook on life you posted and here's to many more years of anabolic minds

44 here. I lift with the same intensity as in my 30s. My volume has just decreased a little. The aches and pains come on easier. I really have to listen to my body which I don't do a good job of :) I used to do 4 working sets of every exercise. Now it's just 3 with 1 high rep set at 60% getting a good pump in the muscle. I also used to lift 5-6 days a week. Now it's just 3-4 with cardio having a bigger emphasis. I've started to play the longevity game the past couple years.

I’m 42 now…I remember the exact day I turned 35 and started perusing this forum also lol. I really hate how that feels like a year ago, as opposed to 7. Time flies the older I get…😭

57.

Hell 30's is still a kid! Late 40's early 50's I started to feel it. You just have to change and adapt. VOLUME will no longer be your friend. My joints and connective tissue feel much better with lower weight and higher intensity, but i don't see me stopping any time soon.

I'm in this age bracket as well. To be honest, the majority of my workouts at the gym are now with cables. Say what you want about cables, but I don't get injured using them and get a great pump.

I hear you on the lower weight. I watched a podcast where Andrew Huberman recommended working out for a period each year where you go heavy 3-5 rep range. I really wish I could still workout like this. Moving heavy weight feels good mentally. But it just doesn't feel safe anymore for me on my joints.

I'm turning 41, I'm bigger, stronger, leaner and in better cardio shape then I was in my 20's. But everything definitely hurts a lot more 😂

Welcome to the club. Your complimentary heating pad, hearing aid and bottle of Bengay are on their way.

Your a young man! 58 here and still going heavy. In my mind and when I am really warmed up, I feel like I am 17. I don’t think this ever changes. Well I hope not!

Cables are awesome! I got a delt routine solely on cables and it burns so good. I think one of the goals in the older age ranges is to be able to workout the next day... injuries take much longer to heal.

i also find that the older i get i have to adapt during my workouts and cant go in with a set plan of sets and reps because of joint pain and i dont feel i am 100% every day in strength compared to my 20's and 30's

wait till you turn 40. just gets better.
a lifetime of lifting isn't that different than a lifetime of maxing out your IRA or something. Being the only fit dude in a group of age-peers is a flex.

LOL I think the only birthday I remember was a surprise bday when I turned 6 haha. I never really took them serious

Same…I just remember his same thought pattern…”I’m allowed to be here now”

41 this year, my brain still exists in the realm of a 20 something yr old and I’m stronger than I’ve ever been. Mind>matter, if you don’t mind it don’t matter.

Old man heading to the gym for a full body workout today!!! But first I gotta put some bengay on my knees, put on my knee sleeves, grab my belt and my wrist wraps. I gotta time my coffee so I don't poop myself squatting or picking up something heavy. On that note, I need a solid 20min warm up too, maybe my cheater glasses so I can plug the numbers in between my 4-12 warm ups lol

10 years ago I could wake up in my sweatshirt, mix up a shake and walk out the door, stretch for 5 min if even at all, do a warm up set of 10 with 135 and go straight to 245 for sets of 3 loll

Lol so much truth here.

you guys need more of the 'tism. there is a process that must be completed daily. first cup of coffee starts around 4:30-5am, and shitoclock is promptly at 6:30am. e'rday.

Lord have mercy on the soul get comes between me and this ritual.

Turning 43 on thursday. Last couple years have been very rough. For the first time ever cold causes immense pain, especially my hands. My hands swell and get red between the MCP and PIP knuckles every night. My pointers and especially middle fingers are no longer straight, pretty sure I have RA as nothing fits more precisely symptom wise. Forget why I walk in rooms frequently and by the time a new tab opens I often forget what I wanted to look up. The decline the last few years is awful and I pray it slows down.

As far as lifting I do a very basic 531, anything higher rep fries me for days. Once a week training is standard and twice a week is a huge victory. Using weights that are less than my old first set warmups. That being said somehow I still look better than 98% percent of others my age, thank God for leftover muscle and supplements that work @sns8778 @nostrum420 @brundel @delsolrob

@cronikgains I agree this place is great, I will be here as long as it is and Im glad you started this thread! Maybe I should do the same....

Thanks for listening to me whine guys.
