Exemestane (Aromasin)

My TRT doc has put me on Exemestane and I would just like to ask for experiences from people who have used it to find out what I can expect to feel, both positives and negatives.
Quarter tablet every three days.

Am I right in thinking that Exemestane is a suicidal AI, preventing any rebound possibilities?

I've never felt or notice anything from the exemestane. If I'm having high estrogen side effects (in your case from clomid) it should stop those once estrogen is in whatever range your body likes and it should also raise your testosterone a little more. But I wouldn't expect to feel anything. Exemestane is pretty forgiving on the dosing but you should still start low.

So shouldn't be expecting the
-Joint Problems
-Mood Swings
-Headaches
-Insulin Resistance
-Lethargy
Etc
That my doc warned me could happen. On one quarter tablet E3D

These are just low E symptoms. If it doesn’t crash your e then you should probably feel fine. It has metabolites that are weak androgens (unlike the other AIs) . Theoretically should lower SHBG more than the other AIs and raise free T more at an equivalent dose

One of the side effects of vitamin c is anal leakage.......

Everything has potential side effects, you shouldn't see any of those things unless you do something like crash your estrogen or happen to be one of those people that just gets the extreme rare side effects.

I'm interested how it could cause insulin resistance. I can't quite wrap my head around that one so I'm going to have to do some research but I've never ever heard of that happening to anyone

Estrogen protects against insulin resistance by stimulating the transport of insulin into muscle cells, improving insulin's effectiveness on the liver and adipose tissue.

Explained it well better than the doc did.

That's not hard to do now a days. Especially with chatgpt and all the other ai resources 😅

Someone recently told me that at there last visit the DR. Was looking up symptoms in the computer. Oh boy 😂
They've been doing that here in the UK for as long as I can remember. Doctors don't go to medical school anymore, just do an online courses and get qualifications in ChatGTP

In five years will we even have human doctors. I think it's just going to be a doctor version of chatgpt. Cut out the middle man.

How are things going since adding Exemestane?
Can't say I've noticed much difference tbh. I've got another two weeks before my next blood test.

I don't know if it's related to the exemestane or if situations have just gotten worse, but I've started to get anxiety symptoms...Something I've never had before

It could be your estrogen getting too low. I always found exemestane a sledge hammer for me.

Also one dose can lower estrogen for multiple days. If your body hasn't made enough of the aromatase enzyme and your throwing another dose of exemestane in then each dose will lower estrogen more and more.

I've read hundreds of people crashing estrogen on these 'qualified' doctors protocols. Crashed estrogen sucks and sometimes takes weeks to fix itself. It can leave a person miserable for over a month.

Are you doing regular bloodwork?

Is anxiety a low estrogen side effect?
I go for bloods every twelve weeks

The clomid is my TRT

Are you suffering with low testosterone?

I think HCG might be a better option or even just testosterone?. Clomid works but it's riddled with side effects.

What's the reason for using clomid over TRT? Fertility?

Here in the UK that's all they'll give you, unless you can afford to go private.

I'm also in the UK.

That's a trash protocol bud. Classic NHS. Cheapest option first. The doctors here want you out the door ASAP.

Their is always self prescribed.......

That's what I do.

That sucks, It's bullshit!!!

Our health service has went severely down hill. It's all about a quick fix. Though that's all alot of people want... A quick fix. Very little amounts of people want to eat good food and exercise anymore.

I wouldn't call clomid a quick fix, it's more like long term punishment lol.

I love how the governments tell us what is healthy and unhealthy and what we should or should not put in our bodies, testosterone is bad even though we already have it in our body, but hey, we will prescribe you a SERM that acts like estrogen and has potential risks for blood clots, mood disorder, osteoporosis and erectile dysfunction.

That's right, long term term use in men has more negative risks then TRT, by a long shot

Fukin government knows best tho

@Slims idk how you feel about it, but I would (I do) self prescribe testosterone. Id imagine even 50-70mg twice a week week would be a significant improvement.

I would, but I can't trust any of the "doctors" at my gym and I can't really buy it online

12.5mg twice per day, twelve hours apart.

I know clomid is usually a once per day thing dose wise, but splitting it into two smaller doses reduced my SHBG by over 90nmol
25mg of Clomid a day shouldn’t require you to use a AI. I would only use when needed if I were you instead of all the time, it’s a chance your E is getting too low on the protocol you’re running now.

25mg of Clomid ed put my Test levels in 900’s and E was 50-60, no sides so I never used a AI. Clomid gets a bad rep but it’s been great to me. If you’re not seeking world dominance and want to keep fertility I think it’s a great.

Testosterone is 44.000nmol/L
(Normal range=12nmol/L-30nmol/L)
Estrogen is 203.000pmol/L
(Normal range=41pmol/L-159pmol/L)

Daily tadalafil or similar during this time?

Do you have any sides? Your E seems to be a little high, is that on the AI dosage you’re doing now?

The only side effect I really noticed was bloating, which I didn't even know was a side effect until I made this thread.
This was before I started the exemestane. My next blood test is tomorrow to see if it's making any real difference.

Good to see your estrogen came down within range. Odd how testosterone went down. Same time of day and conditions for the blood test?

Absolutely every controlable variable was exactly the same. The only change during the entire 8 weeks was the exemestane

Not much difference tbf. Luckily I never had any real bad estrogenic side effects, mainly just bloating, so I never expected a massive difference
So bloating is down I assume. Any plans to tweek your protocol?

It's nowhere near as bad or as often as it was.
My doctor wants to lower my clomid to bring my testosterone down to within normal range, but I'd like to keep it as it is.

If fluid mention went down, libido, sleep, mood, and did you get any follow-up blood work?
Bloating reduced significantly, got better over time.
Not much change in libido.
Not much change in sleep.
Mood is odd to guage because it's so all over the place, but my life is hectic, so I'm not a great candidate for basing that.
I dp have follow up bloods, from last week.
