Ephedrine & Caffeine at maintenance

Will EC selectively burn fat even at maintenance calories? Say for example we factor in the increased TDEE from the EC and it puts us at maintenance calories, will the beta adrenergic activity promote lipolysis and create fat loss even at that maintenance calorie level?

Its possible that taking EC while eating at maintenance will increase your resting metabolism a bit, but the increase won't be significant enough to lose weight/body fat. If your goal is to eat more calories and burn fat, just add in more cardio.

Your body will adjust to EC over a period of time and it will become less effective with prolonged use. I would save EC for when you're trying to cut, preferably toward the end of a cut when fat loss stalls. You can't create a calorie deficit with supplementation alone, it must be done by eating less calories or expending more calories (cardio)

In addition to the increase in Metabolic Rate, E has been shown to directly liberate fatty acids itself - so I'd say that even if at TDEE (for E use ie. you increased calories to cancel out the metabolic rate increase from it) - it's possible more of the daily calories burned may come from fat stores than they otherwise would. But you'd have to dig into the research for a better answer.

I was reading on bodyrecomposition that e is actually more effective over time but the moa is still unknown

Yea I've been sifting through some research but given the fact that EC is almost strictly used as a dieting aid, most of the studies are with subjects in some degree of a caloric deficit.

It would be very very minor.

So majority of the benefit of an EC stack is the increase in the ratio of fat mass lost to LBM compared to a standard diet with no EC where it likely would be more LBM? And also its fantastic ability to curb appetite.

I would say the major benefit of the EC stack is that it's super cheap and suppresses appetite well.

Yeah (it's moreso retention of lean mass than how you worded exactly, but same outcome really). It *does* affect thermogenesis, but that's likely to be less than 200 calories (better than nothing, but nothing crazy in the grand scheme of things for most people).
