Can long term supp usage lead to enlarged prostate? I have a lapse in my health insurance and every symptom I have is pointing to enlarged prostate
( the main issue is a constant feeling like I have to urinate.. Then when I do, I instantly feel like i have to again/it feels like I'm ready to piss myself at times and it drips randomly for like an hour following urination).

I've never run gear only a tiny cycle about 7 years ago. But I'm on supps year round and just cycle through various ones (for about 9 years now) most natty anabolics and thermos, along with health staples.

I pee about 2-4 times per night and probably 5-7 times a day (I drink about a gallon of water a day sometimes more sometimes less). I don't have any pain in abdomen or groin or lower back. Just the issue with dripping after urination and feeling like I am about to piss myself at times. The latter has only recently started about a week ago... The dripping has been on and off for about 3 years.

This must be prostate related... And I cNt go to a doctor.. So any ideas would be great. Thanks.

Not sure about it messing with your brain, but maybe if untreated for a long long time. I read my wife this post (she's a nurse) and that was what she thought. Do you find it hard to get the flow going or urinate very little every time you pee? She said that's a good indication that it's either an STD or a UTI. Also if you find yourself having a fever often it would be a sign of either as well.

No fevers or issues starting flow. In fact everytime I go, it's like a full length trip. I seem to be voiding a lot of fluid each time. That's the odd part.. I actually am going a LOT lol not just feeling like I have to.

I would suggested getting checked for a UTI as well as a possible infection which may be causing what appears to be prostatitis. Not going to the Doctors in this situation is foolish as this could be a sign of something more involved. You can go on line and order a piss test for urine culture as well as an STD panel from privatemdlabs

Thanks matrix. I may have to order those test. Im gonna call my urologist Monday and see what the cost would be to see him out of pocket.. Insurance lapsed in July. I won't be getting coverage til August or sept 1st now. Prostatits is what I reckoned from my research. I picked up some NSAIDs to take and try relax any inflammation as well (I never use them so should be effective)

I also did a piss test strip made by azo .. The OTC ones at the pharmacy.. Was negative for uti

I think I figured it out! Putting ALL symptoms together and current supplementation.

Symptoms:
Dizziness upon standing (low BP)

Really bad cramping during last two leg days (I never cramp) even when I played college football

Transient Numbness in arms/ hands and feet

Confusion/ air headedness recently

Muscle twitching

All urinary issues listed above in OP

Causes:
High activity level and drinking lots of water

Sweating a ton during workouts

see below

Currently using full dose of Xtract diuretic by axis labs (for summer cutting) on day 13 of this

Using EC stack usually two doses a day, but this week I used 3 bc I had 16 hour work days

Low carb diet

Just moved to new state and haven't been eating as much variety of NUTRITION. Calories have been ok- but overall nutritional content has not been diverse (vitamins and minerals lacking)

Diagnoses:
Based on all factors and symptoms

*Potassium deficiency* caused by poor dietary content, exacerbated by diuretic and ephedrine use

Treatment:
Ceasing diuretic use and reducing to regular 2 dose of eph per day

Beginning a hyper potassium diet to recover levels
Bananas, potatoes, coconut water sugar free sports drinks. Never exceeding 5000mg potassium daily. Reassessing after 3-4 days of treatment.

It makes much better sense than a 25 year old with an enlarged prostate. I should have put everything together sooner. My dad mentioned potassium and it all clicked

Don't ever under estimate an enlarged prostate. I know of a kid who at 27 had advanced prostate cancer and had no symptoms. Found it when the doctor ordered a PSA blood test accidentally. My husband at 44 just had his prostate removed because of cancer and again, no symptoms. Just an FYI for when you get insurance. It's the number one cancer killer in men. 1 in 4 will get prostate cancer.....

Wow those are some frightening stats.. Maybe ill just go out of pocket for a psa test
I know elevated psa doesn't MEAN cancer automatically. But it's definitely important to diagnose and keep a watch on.

I do think with all the symptoms, this is just a bad case if potassium deficiency. Never the less, I am going to make sure everything is ok

Yeah in my husbands case it def meant it. It was only 2.1. It should be less than 0.1 for you guys. I think you are in the right direction with potassium and you are def young for that type of cancer, just wanted to let you know it wasn't impossible. We didn't know the stats until this year either

I have the exact same symptoms, I often take a 5 minute piss and by the time I'm done washing my hands I have to pee again. I do have a drink at ALL times, so have chalked it up to that.

I recently started taking 5mg if cialis twice as day and it's helped a ton. After you've verified it's nothing life threatening you should try this.

What does the cialis help with? Relaxing the soft tissues and blood vessels?

I'm chalking it up to being on a lot o caffeine, diuretic, and ephedrine. That alone would tighten up blood vessels and tissues very much.. Coupled with the lack of potassium in my diet recently.

I am also heavy on the caffein due to pre workout drinks and a daily green tea, I also have sciatica which keeps me pretty tensed up. For me cialis helps me hang better, which seems to help me with the constant feeling that I need to go.

It also helps with morning wood, which helps limit frequent night time trips to the bathroom.

I've also got 10 plus years in age on you lol. Just some thoughts you would never hear from a doctor : )..

Not related but noticed you said you have sciatica. One thing that helps with it is to move the wallet from the back pocket to the front pocket. The wallet in the back presses on the nerve when sitting.

I don't think it's related to any supplements.. Dull Pain now In testicles and lower right abdomen/ pelvis. Extreme tightness in the whole region as well... Perhaps pelvic floor dysfunction from a dead lift PR I hit last week.. Going on a little over a week with symptoms now getting slowly worse.

Thanks. Yea I actually have ankylosing spondylitis and was prescribed this medication two years ago... I never took it and have been able to eliminate my arthritis for the most part with just good diet and corrective exercise

Ill give it a go now tho and see how it helps out my symptoms - which today were literally very good.. I feel worlds better out of the blue.. Will still take treatment and make sure whatever it was doesnt come back

So long story short

I ended up in the ER the other night with excruciating pain in testes. Did every test under the sun- blood, urine, ct scan, ultrasound. All 100% normal, including size of prostate.

Went to a sport injury specialist whom many of our athletes use.... He pinpointed the problem within 5 minutes. I have scar tissue built up in my hip flexors and psoas and iliopsoas. It has made all the surrounding muscles BEYOND tight and limited blood flow. It has affected my digestion, adrenal glands, and hormones due to the location of oxygen deprivation to muscle and organ tissue over the last 3 years. The muscle were so tight that it ROTATED and tilted my pelvis. Causing my chronic pain also for te last 3 years.

In short- he is going to work the scar tissue out (did one treatment today and was able to level out my hips almost 100%) and I will be fine! Pretty scary how little injuries u ignore can build into such extreme trouble!

That's good this was finally caught and diagnosed for you, not knowing and having a persisting issue is hell.

Good luck with the recovery process brother,

Did they recommend any physical therapy exercises or techniques to use on your own to help?

Thanks driven. Yea, I need to get manual/active release therapy twice a week for 2-3 weeks to work out all the scar tissue... Then just continue to foam roll for the rest of my life and focus on mobility exercises and be smarter about my training. Years of young invincibility and football ego in the weightroom led to this... It's been 4 years since the first symptoms popped up (2010 was last year i played in college)

I have bruises all up and down my hips from the release therapy yesterday.

Unfortunately it looks like I won't be breaking my 305 x 2 dead lift any time soon or at all. I cut down to 165 and this dr told me he wouldn't suggest going much over 225lbs for a dead lift at my weight. He said if I wanna pull more i should be 185+ lol. Deads are the only lift I really like to program and challenge myself at so I am sad for sure. I keep my squats and bench and a light average weight for maintenance.

Great you were able to the issue pinpointed and addressed. Hope a full recovery is in sight also. you mentioned a "Sports Injury Specialist" that treated athletes like yourself and others. Is he an MD ie Ortho as well? I think I may have some of this same issue.

I understand pelvic tilt is caused by tight glutes and weak stomach, and a tight psoas muscle, I may have got them muddled up. Should I buy a foam roller for it? any excercises help?

If your pelvis is tilted you will need release therapy. The psoas is too deep to be hit by YOU. Someone who knows how to do it and find it will have to do it. For glutes and quads foam rolling is vital... Often 2-3 times a day. Shift to more hamstring dominate exercises I find that helped me

Dr pinpointed that the psoas is the cause of my issues and we are going to focus solely on that for treatment. There is entrapment of the genitofemoral nerve on both sides as well as excessive scar tissue running from my quads to my upper abdomen (mostly in obliques)

"I can't remember the last time I was 3 knuckles deep in a patients abdomen" is what he said today.. Rarely sees a case as bad as mine and he's worked with pro sports teams :/

Hey Chedapalooze.. I know you said this DR is a Chiro and sorta world class, in essence. Do you know if a standard, average quality could perform this type maneuver/adjustment? I have numbness and tingling all thru these areas, including genitals, but no pain.
Glad you are making progress though and getting results. Thanks !

Honestly, no. It has nothing to do with adjustments. I am not getting any chiropractic treatment. He specializes in sports injuries, in addition to general chiropractic care. Everything he is doing is manual and active release therapy. I have gone to 5 different ppl since 2010- all of them said I had NO issue.... He is the only one who was able to recognize what I am dealing with. I suggest doing a google search of active release therapists (a good massage therapist will know ART)

But the City I live in has a vast array of practitioners/therapists that specialize in many modalities. I will search using the ART moniker.. Thank you so much once again..!
