Enclomiphene vs. HCG

I recently traveled abroad and I didn't want to try to manage keeping HCG refrigerated, so I substituted enclomiphene to maintain testicular function.

Unexpectedly, I felt really great on enclomiphene; my nutbag stayed nice and full and I greatly appreciated the convenience factor. From my reading, it seems enclomiphene mitigates basically all of the negative side effects of clomid.

Is there a reason why HCG is used over enclomiphene long term?

Asked differently, is there any reason I shouldn't run enclomiphene all the time in lieu of HCG? I'm not sure if my doctor would even provide an indefinite prescription, but I want to educate myself before talking to him about it.

I can’t tell you much, I’m not real familiar with HCG. Personally, I’d prefer a SERM because they’ll increase LH output. Keep the pituitary rocking. HCG skips a step and replaces the LH. Not sure that’s a big difference, but it’s there.

I’ve heard hCG can be estrogenic too. You shouldn’t get that from a SERM, and it wouldn’t surprise me if that is the reason you’re feeling better.

I assume you're injecting testosterone? I think Enclo works for some people on low to moderate those trt but not as effectively as HCG. Also both have their own side effects and I wouldn't want to be on a SERM long term.

Hcg and enclomid or serms in general are 2 different categories of drugs thst are used for different purposes. They are not interchangeable but they do have things in common

@Smont Are you able to elaborate on HOW they are different? Is one better/worse than the other for preserving testicular function?

My goals in this regard are two-fold: I want to maintain fertility; I'm on TRT, but I blast and cruise. From an aesthetic perspective, I also like slangin' a big nutbag; I don't want shriveled raisins.

Previously, I only ever had HCG or (worse) gonadorelin as options.

Hcg is way, way, way better at keeping the testicles function.

I honestly wouldn't know where to begin with how there different. It would take paragraphs to explain it properly It's like comparing a apple to a steak. Yes there both foods, yes they both have calories but they don't really have anything in common.

Sorry for the terrible comparison but there just different. Different drugs, different categories of drugs and used for different reasons.

Enclomiphene or any serm for that mater is NOT going to maintain testicular function for any extended period of time if your taking exogenous hormones like testosterone or othere steroids and sarms and prohormones.

Hcg on the other hand will keep them functioning

Mostly because I don't like the way I feel when taking a SERM. It is unpleasant for me although tolerable for a PCT. I would worry about side effects and health concerns of taking it long term as well. They serve a purpose and are great short-term for PCT though.

Honestly, the best way to know the differences in these different types of compounds, is to research each, and compare.

It is pretty common (but not a good thing) for guys to see (or think they see) a similarity in two entirely different types of compounds, and then want to treat them like they are interchangeable.

When we understand what the compounds are, and how they work, we see that they aren't very similar at all.

Shortly, a SERM will bind to estrogen receptors on different ares in the body and while occupying these receptors, estrogen can't bind to those receptors. Enclomiphene has a high bindind affinity to the ER's on the brain. By occupying ER's on the brain, a SERM like Enclo disrupts the body's feedback loop and creates a higher output of LH and FSH, which in turn signals the testes to produce more test and sperm. This increase in LH and FSH won't typically occur, when there's also exogenous androgens circulating around, like TRT, which also disrupts the feedback loop (with negative affect).

HCG mimics LH in the body and directly signals testes to produce test and sperm, even with exogenous androgens in the picture.

I agree and am merely trying to give a little helping nudge on the direction of doing (own) research and also wrote only from the perspective of HCG vs Enclo for testicular function, while on TRT.
