EliteXC and WEC Contest

I think Rodja's right, Saku is going to get destroyed. I wonder if they'll match up Melvin and Jacare if they both win.
 
x3. That's funny though about the WWE, I thought the same thing when the pyrotechnics went off & the music started. I thought Cena was gonna come runnin out and tackle Slice.
 
I missed the fight, but I read some pretty horrid reviews about it. It sounded like a pretty lame event. EliteXC's shameless "set up" hype surrounding Kimbo is a damn shame.

I agree Kimbo should not be the face of MMA being introduced to the broader, more public viewer base, and even more so, EliteXC shouldn't be the organization behind this presentation of the sport to a fresh viewer base.

All I can do is shake my head. This does make me respect the UFC a lot more.

Saku still has a few tricks up his sleave. I'm picking him to beat Melvin. I've been doing this for awhile without much success.

I inadvertently promised the girl a date night at the beginning of the week (I thought the fight was in June for some reason).

Plus, after watching the last "kick@$$" UFC so recently, where multi-dimensional talent was displayed, this Kimbo fight just didn't arouse too much interest.

I dont really watch anything MMA at all but I have watched one UFC event and the eliteXC stuff last night. Other than that hot chick fighting and winning the stuff last night was weak.

Kimbo Slice is a joke. I know very very little about anything MMA but I know enough to know he'd get slaughterd (and did last night) by a legit MMA guy. Infact I found myself getting real pissed when the fight was called and also pissed when the ref broke them up when thompson was beating the ish outta slice on the ground.

I fought & sparred guys that were 170 lbs & 270lbs. Obviously there is a difference between the speed, finess and endurance of both. Just like like your dog. I"ve grappled & had guys 270 lbs on me & it was like moving a make truck where I could hardly breath. I would rather have 170lber with the same skills on me any day.

Elite is banking, favoring & protecting their key fighters to maintain viewership & put asses in the seats...that goes without saying. It's a business afterall.a

Kimbo has alot to learn..he has said it himself on several occasions...but he is also powerfull punching heavyweight that can also take puches. Check out his bare knuckled you tube fights. He's no pussy. Easy to shoot your smart ass mouth off about what an expert you are in front of the safety of a keyboard.

Luciano already had a stellar performance in the Fedor GOAT thread. Stupid people are cool, as long as they realize they're stupid. Yeah, he is really terrible. He's decent if it's a UFC event, but any other org and he's screwed. He really bombed on the Pride contests, back in the good ol days. He would PM me asking me about the fighters, and I basically told him to fvck off.

I figured since you had all the action figures in your MMA themed 40-year-old virgin style house that you'd know your sh1t, but if you look back at the contest results, I was clearly wrong. Luckily, Hard Knox is now around to correct me when I refer to JT in a way he deems inappropriate after finding out who he is just the day before.
