Elevated Hemocrit and Hemoglobin with low ferritin

Ive been on TRT for 12 years and have had high readings on H&H. 50 and 16.9... About 18 months ago I began donating blood every 8 weeks or so to keep both down in the more normal range with good success. I had a physical around 6 months ago and my CBC came back showing I was anemic with a Ferritin level of 10 and my H%H was 45 and 14. I stopped giving blood and was on Prescription iron pills for two months and I just had another physical and now my H&H levels are back up to previous levels, but my Ferritin is at 22. How do I bring up my Ferritin level and not keep raising the H&H ???

There are many possible pathologies to this response seen in the blood
1. you are drinking too much coffee.caffeine not enough water causing dehydration
2. You are not well hydrated before the blood draw - Did you have coffee before the blood drawn?
3. You could have an underlying infections along with increase of thickening of blood from TRT

When doctors start playing filling the gas tank with hormones vitamin D iron when levels are low draws up a bunch of red flag as they need to look at further underlying pathology of why this is occurring. When even I see a low ferrtin with normal iron hematology, I really want to question whether supplementation of iron is needed and even making matters worse. I had a similar response from a case to where I told them not to supplement iron based on probability of hidden infection specifically a lyme co-infections from the lab results.. They called me a quack said it was not possible, and prescribe the iron. 4 weeks later, the patient comes in complaining of severe fatigue, mental fog and increased neuropathy. Since they did not heed my suggestion they cause bartonella to express. This resulted in their patient having to drop out of medical school for 2 semester to get proper treatment from an LLMD. This eventually lead into a potential law suit which they did not pursue.
 
I have one maybe two glasses of tea a day with no other caffeine of any kind.I track my fluid intake by filtering my water into a pitcher each day to make sure I,m hydrated. I average between 3/4 to a gallon a day. I dont think dehydration is a issue...
 
You may want to think again what you understand and dehydration and what a biochemist looks at are two separate issues.
90% of Americans are cellularly dehydrated because of other factors impacting cellular electrolyte balance. Some of those factors are sodium/potassium pump, ADH, aldosterone/renin ETC crappy lifestyles and mind set no one is looking at. Just because you drink water does not mean its getting inside the cells even your emotional will alter cellular function..
 
Did the same thing when I started TRT. Getting ferritin back to normal is taking longer than a year and half. Make sure you are supplementing iron chelate.
 
I would suggest that you work on possible controlling your estrogen levels as this has a huge impact on iron metabolism more then we truly know
 
I may try the Iron chelate, and how did U get your H&H under control ??? I had a full physical two weeks ago and my E2 was 29. Thoughts on Crislers video ???

I actually never had an issue with H&H. I started giving blood as a means to avoid an issue I never developed. I was paranoid that I would develop high H&H.
