Elevated bilirubin?

So got blood work done and everything's been same and nor Mal except my bilirubin. Was .9 in 2018 1.3 in 2020 and now recent 1.7?

My hemocratic also dropped was at 55 and now down to 51.

Had an ultra sound done and waiting for results but how worried about this should I be. I have also had this slight burning back right flank pain when I eat the past month?

How long before your bloodwork was your last workout, if it was within 24-48hrs that could be the problem, otherwise I'd say you have some kind of liver issues. 1.7 if fairly high but not crazy, you definitely don't want it to stay elevated that high. I think when you get into the mid to high 2's is where it's really dangerous, jaundice and whatnot

Did a light workout the night before fasted and got the test around noon the next day. Worked out night before last blood test and it wasn't only 1.3 though.

Anything above 1.2 I believe is technically out of range but it's irrelevant, you worked out both times before bloodwork, the numbers are skewed in both test and not reflective of what your numbers really are. Every time you workout the numbers temporarily go up.

If you want to know what your real numbers are, take the test more then 48 hours after your last workout, you should be well hydrated, but in a fasted state, roughly 8-12 hours without food.

Thanks I'll mention it to my doc. I'm just concerned with that right back weird feeling and my stool hasn't been as thick as it normally is. So instantly Google and convince myself it's cancer.

Some Dr. Know that exercise skews the numbers and some have no clue, from experience, don't try to convince the Dr. If he's not up to date on stuff like that, dr.s don't take kindly to there's patients knowing something they don't.

He's most likely going to tell you to make some lifestyle And diet adjustments and have you do more bloodwork. Just make sure next time to not workout for a few days leading up. No weightlifting, no running or playing any sports.

I can't comment on the others issues, I'm certainly not a medical professional. I just know that certain things will skew your bloodwork

I've worked out before bloodwork as well and my liver enzymes are always elevated if I workout anywhere close to bloodwork :(

I recently dropped my cruise dose to try to lower my redblood cells because they were high. The red blood cells dropped and the bilirubin raised. I know they are related. Could there be a correlation between the two in a result of dropping my test dose?

Yes it could be a slight possibility, but you don't even know if there really elevated or if there elevated because of working out. You need accurate bloodwork first to know if you even have a problem.

In the past my rbc would get fairly high on cycles and come back down post cycle, and it's never caused that problem for me.

We can all speculate 59 million things but it's not going to mean anything till you get a accurate reading.

Now if next bloodwork you do everything right and it's still elevated you have more to worry about.

In the meantime you can follow whatever measures your Dr recommended and as a precaution you could always start supplementing with nac and tudca, increase your water consumption and eat clean.

Don't overthink it, the liver is the most resilient organ in the human body, it can take a absolutely Mike Tyson style beating and rejuvenate itself back to normal.

There's middle age and older people who drank and abused drugs there entire lives and didn't get liver failure.

Give it some time, follow the docs advice, and next time you get bloods don't work out beforehand

Yea my doc did an ultra sound yesterday so should hear back today. That should give some good insight right?

Also kind of want to use ulta labs and get tested myself tmro to see.
