well... I like video games. never got into roll playing games. I'm old enough to have sat in on many 80's D&D sessions, just never really enjoyed it as much as video gaming. I did like Battletech though.

I did some RPGs in my younger days (Dark Sun, Forgotten Realms, Vampire the last masquerade). I even participated in some Live RPGs. But we are talking 20 years ago haha. Still love video games but have no time for them. Waiting for Diablo Immortal to drop 2.june. Super hyped for that as its a phone game so i might maybe even be able to play it now and then.

There’s a lot of crossover between video games and pen and paper, that’s for sure. I just think it’s a funny stereotype of gamers being weakling nerds. That same obsessing over small details and rules is found in lots of lifters.

Never got into those types of games, was big on video games untill a few years ago and now I just play a few phone games and hit the casino to play poker lol

I do have a buddy that still does D&D every Thursday with his friends, he's like 30 so I always find that a little bit weird lol. But I'm sure lots of ppl find my hobbies weird so 🤷

I feel like I've been pre-registered for it for 10years now (longer than a 1on1 fight on Dragonball Z)... Taking forever. Apex Legends finally dropped, so I've been on that.

I can't stop fukin laughing, I'm picturing a big jacked dude dressed up like a wizard casting spells at a bunch of kids in a basement.

Screenshot_20220521-141251~2.png I honestly don't understand the game even tho my son plays it, his characters are a paladin and a sorcerer and he's got a pet hippo and a pet Crow or something like that 😂😂😂

Been the DM many campaigns, been a barbarian, paladin, monk, druid, but mainly if I’m not DM’ing I always end up having to be the f*cking Cleric!!!

It’s been a couple years since my friends who played with me here lost their minds with COVID paranoia, but their now 5-year-old finally just completed her vaccine “break-in”period or whatever so hopefully they’ll be rejoining society.

I think what I always enjoyed about the game, besides the social & fantasy aspects, was just trying to continually improve for the sake of it. I’m pretty sure that’s why I fell in love with lifting. But I don’t have time for video games and I really don’t have interest in online play - it’s getting together with friends to laugh & share 2-3x a month that made it fulfilling.

Used to play some Magic as well, but always kept it casual. More of a draft guy than constructed; I like having to build on my toes and beating people with otherwise trash cards because I’m a better player than them

Dude, the fukin covid crybabies kill me. I know a few ppl who are basically spending there lives in fear now. To the point that I stopped being friends with some of them. A x buddy of mine started talking about covid for like 20 or 30 times in a row every time we saw each other. Every time he saw me like clockwork it was

Did you get your vaccine yet

You should really start wearing a mask and carrying hand sanitizer
We're waiting to get our booster shots

Finally after like the 20th time he said the exact same thing to me I lost it in public at a restaurant lol.

Dude shut the **** up, I'm sick and tired of you crying about covid and if I hear it again I'm gonna punch you in the fukin throat.

We haven't spoken since.... 😂

Yeah I don’t want to derail this thread. It’s just the sad truth it killed our group. I have always enjoyed gaming and it was a great social hobby.

There’s a lot of value in eating pizza with friends

I played Magic during revised and the 4 years or so following it. I still have my collection. Last time I chdcked my power cards (moxes, ancestral recall, dual lands, etc) put my collection at over $10,000 in value (most of that in just one box that lives in our safe).

I still play D&D with 3 friends, plus my wife and brother. Been playing since I was 14 and I'm 41 now. Not just D&D but lots of world of darkness stuff, and some of the hero system (best system of all).

We found an awesome resource, a website called roll20.net, coupled with discord to talk, so we could keep the game going through covid, and now it just makes things more convenient to play remotely; no drive time makes for longer sessions and makes it much easier since we have 3 kids that we don't have to pack up and keep entertained at someone else's house.

You can get a pretty penny for moxes!

I think we played my first game when I was 12. Hooked me the very first night we tried a starter kit. My buddy played the wizard & died in his second fight ever. He had run out of spells, so he charged in with a staff and immediately took an axe to the dome - only had 4 hit points to begin with. As the DM, it was beautiful to witness

One of my best memories as a DM was of a friend who was a water-halfling wizard, who tried to roll himself off a dock to survive, but he got knocked unconscious because he provoked an attack of opportunity.

No one could get to him so he sank to the bottom of the river and drowned. :ROFLMAO:

Played today at the table. I tried the discord thing-it’s really tedious for a dm, especially when the wizard is breaking out animate objects and trying to resolve that much **** online just sucks. No minis kinda blows too, some of the guys I play with are really talented painters. You can’t really laugh about the dumb **** that goes down, and *NO MATH ROCKS* is a fuckin dealbreaker for me

Roll20 lets you simulate the board and minis, and you can make macros for rolls that you do frequently to speed things up.

20 something years ago I played ultima online then shadowbane. After that I did world of War craft beta and learned it was a carebear item grinding game and stopped.

Best game imo is ww2online. I believe now it is called battlefield Europe. It is a open world pvp game. I beta tested that game also 20 years ago.
You can play as a grunt, tanker or even be a fighter pilot if you have a computer with the horses to get you the frames. They are currently working on a new version of the game that I may build a new computer for and get back into it.

I like open world ffa pvp with full open loot.
Been many years since I played. Darkfall online was my last game. Growing up sux.
Having a business, dealing with seo google my business, customers then my son that plays ball...no time to waste.
Cod can hold me for a few weeks meh..

I decided to try to play online casino, too. To find a variant to my liking, I played in demo mode, as it is in almost every online casino. More remained to my liking https://spielautomaten-kostenlos-spielen.com/20-freispiele-ohne-einzahlung/ . After registration a welcome bonus was waiting for me. And plus what else I liked is that they operate not only as a gambling establishment, but you can also bet on sports.
online casinos reduce testosterone levels by 90%

I did D&D over several nights a few decades ago. The Game Master makes the difference between a good game and a boring game. It was interesting. Not really much of a computer game person. Not my thing. GF recently purchased a 1000pc jigsaw puzzle to get me away from my books and it has been an interesting three days assembling it. Still not finished.

I recall reading how MRI scans of taxi cab drivers in old cities had differently functioning brains compared to normal folk as they had to memorize all of the intersecting streets in non-grid layout metro areas. I imagine a hardcore jigsaw puzzle assembler is probably the same in training their brain in what to look for for in terms of matching colors and intersecting shapes.
