Driven2Lift Battles Gravity, One Plate at a Time

I feel guilty every time I go over 3 open flavors lol

Currently have chocolate, pumpkin pie and salted caramel open. Also, don't see what's so weird about that supp stash...who doesn't love bright colors and shiny labels??

I can name what I have

(3) OL triump - diff flavors
(1) vanilla whey
(2) pre workouts
(1) xtend preform

Weekend was over the top. Diet is off track too much for my liking. Buffet, Birthday party, pizza with GNO and KlutzyLifter and he brought along ice cream which I've already dug into...

Going low GI bro foods for a while. Need back in the rhythm here

Know what you mean... I spent the weekend in Nashville with my gf and sister and just drank most of my cals in whiskey (when in Rome I guess ha). Chicken and broccoli week for me too!

Great lift today, squatted 285 for 10 easy, belt-less. I think my newly added extra core work is what is helping my back out, so I'm keeping it up.

Not even taking workout time, I just have a doorway pull-up bar always accessible to me as I always walk under it to head to my back room, and back yard.
So each time I pass it I'm adding leg raises until failure. I've done this with chin-ups in the past when I was more bicep obsessed lol. But hey it works/worked, adds volume

Came home to some pretty rad bacon cabbage rolls

And Sunday is winding down with a joint purchase with the girl

Take it easy and enjoy your Sunday, AM!

Unless you haven't lifted yet... Then get to it

Hmmmm.

This is now 2 back days in a row I injured my biceps.

First time ever last back day I got a huge black and purple bruise on my right bicep (maybe all the rows)

Thought it'd be a one time thing but now here I am the day after my next session, this time my left bicep

Invalid Link Removed

Might be skipping movements with heavy bicep involvement for a week or so...
Or is this nothing? Twice in one week doesn't seem good. Got to about a 3-4 inch diameter and totally blackened last time, this one is just purplish still

Thoughts?

I'd say that might be a wise choice on avoiding further injury. Maybe take a month or whatever you feel is neccessary to recover and concertrate on volume sets and stretching out during reps. I had lil bruises like that last year and found out it was just hand and elbow position when rowing. Hopefully you get it figured out but id take it easy for a bit.

If it's positioning I can hopefully just switch to bent over rows on my Smith and see if that helps,

I get no other bicep action, I'd go a little crazy neglecting them entirely but it may be best...

Thanks for your input sir

My pleasure, it might sound weird but i found if i just concentrate on pulling with my elbow it helps isolate from using too much biceps. Kinda like thinking your wrists are your elbows not sure if that makes sense. One other thing i did do was increase my water intake, not sure if that might be an issue or not for you just brainstorming for my experiences and recovery my bruises were in the exact same spot and i got them doing heavy bent over rows overhand grip.

That's really odd... no pain there? Usually a bruise like that only shows up from a decent tear and you sure as hell know when that happens

It's as sore as any bruise that size would be, really it's only sore to touch

Didn't feel a tear, just noticed it hours after. No pain moving it or flexing either, really odd

Yeah that's very different. When I tore my hamstring it bruised up like crazy but it hurt all the time. Any movement was excruciating. I literally just hopped on one leg for about two weeks and limped for over a month. Even sleeping was miserable as I'd move in my sleep and it'd wake me up yelling.

I almost wonder if it's not like a shirt sleeve or something? Anything that would've hit or caught either place?

Edit: I'm gonna assume you lift without sleeves tho cuz if you're like most of us, me included, you check yourself out a lot ha.

Lol yeah none of my gym wear has sleeves, bro to the max

That doesn't sound fun at all. I had a hydro earlier while I was helping my aunt move, but it's out of my system and still no pain.
And my other arm was worse, no meds past few days and it never bothered me

Oh well, I heal quick.
Rest of my weekend is with family, my birthday is Monday so celebrating tomorrow.

Always an excuse for more food...

No pain, no problem ;)

Enjoy the eats man and happy early birthday!

I can't speak from direct experience with this, but if you're bruising something isn't kosher. I don't have answers, but there's blood under your skin for SOME reason. Are you on something that thins your blood like a full aspirin daily or something?

No meds taken daily other than my thyroid, TRT gels, and Ciprolex (escitalopram)

So not from my meds, and outside of that I don't take anything unnecessarily, not even aspirin/tylenol or cough/cold meds

Always preferred letting my body hold its own.

I'm going to take it easy a while here and see how I feel maybe next week for putting a lot of weight/tension on them

I'm in with my physiotherapist tomorrow and plan to pick her brain on it to see if she has any idea too

Thanks guys

Happy birthday big guy! Wishing you all the happiness and gains!

Thanks again all, birthday was a great one

And look... A late present from GNO and team OL

I'll be sharing my thoughts on this baby here as well, starting tomorrow (maybe a taste test later tonight)

And Im good with this, I'm about 8 lbs heavier than my initial hope for this time.

Going to be a good and cut back to a 300-500 cal deficit for the duration of this tub, I'll wrap up in time to gain it back over Xmas holidays

I was at 189.5 this morning!

Hit 193 after my birthday eats

So about this Grape Bubblegum:
Grape is well done, the first taste you notice with each sip.
Bubblegum is more in the aftertaste IMO, and overall this is about a 7.5/10 for sweetness

I'm going to give Klutzy a full serving here as well, she's a far bigger Bubblegum fan than myself and I want to hear her thoughts on this too

Mixability: honestly I got a small clump that I swallowed on my first use, but I used nothing but a shaker and a few second shake.
No blender ball etc. I gave it another good 5 second shake and all was good. Likely a one-time thing now that I know. It's less micronized than some others I'be used, (and who cares) probably all it is.

Effectiveness: time will tell

Acute notes:
-mood lift was definite. Haven't used any ingredient in this profile (other than caffeine) in a long while . Hoping it keeps up with each use

-I got a pretty good sweat going, HR was standard for me but I definitely felt the warmth throughout my lift, overall it feels like it will turn out to be a good run for me here.

Tomorrow = grape bubblegum stacked with cotton candy HV... Sounds too good not to try

Thanks again all, birthday was a great one

Can't wait to hear thoughts on bloodshred. I have some on the way to me too

Canada is in full Winter mode here, snow squalls today.

Just back from a hell of a fun morning with my dad and uncle. You haven't been ATV-ing until you've done it on ice and snow.

Some back roads, forest trails, across a few streams, all looked beautiful today. Wind was blowing snow sideways so every tree was entirely white already.

Wish I could have got photos but my cell stayed behind for it's safety

I had my first full serving (2 scoops) of Bloodshr3d today, and put it through a quick test I use for focus/noot/mood effects.

I'm a big reader, when I have time to be. My test is easy, full serving down, wait 15-20, read a chapter.
You'd be amazed how much acute difference you can notice from certain ingredients this way, particularly with any kind of focus blend. I factor time as well but it's more controllable for me (speed reader, 750-820 WPM generally)

Anyways guys not much to note on that front, and I wouldn't expect it from this but always worth a shot.

The mood lift though, definite.
The warmth and energy, solid.
I mean hell soon after that dose I was getting whipped by snow, soaked through my coveralls and pants, and I don't remember complaining about being cold

Hitting Chest/accessory in a bit,
Will add 1 scoop to my High Volume today

I'm up in pitt for thanksgiving and it's snow and ice here too. Not thrilled I left warm sunny Atlanta for this ha

Still dry in central IL thankfully, but I know up state got some white stuff.

Not looking forward to scraping frost off my car tomorrow morning but tis the season I suppose.

Huh, Jana wasn't a fan of the taste. I think it's just that she's not used to supplements and has never used a powder outside of Alphamine and Ergonine, which both have no actives with a real taste.

As someone who is used to supplementing I find it enjoyable to drink

Today was no exception, can confirm that GB + CC was stellar. It was a hell of an overall cottony aftertaste lol but not in a bad way

In Florida here. Yet to see snow, but its barely livable. Has to be in the low 60's or high 50's tonight.

Weight has leveled off around 189, looks like where I am at right now with the excess fluid now off. Time to whittle it away!
Daily cals at 2050 right now.

Meal preppin' every other day lol.

Need a bigger crockpot/slow-cooker...

Invalid Link Removed

Broccoli, light Chedder, jalepeno & chicken
With extra veggies and rice.

One can of Portobello mushroom tomato sauce, Onion salt, crushed garlic, spice mixes added.

I like a lot of flavour lol.
If you're eating chicken & rice plain we pretty much can't be friends

I put hot or wing sauce on it and add some black beans to it, and occasionally a little spinach or banana peppers...are we cool??

Andddd now I'm opening my wallet

Thanks PEScience...

Weekend was busy, Klutzy's birthday and an early family Xmas event, plenty of glycogen stored

Chest/accessory again today, 250x10 flat bench went up well, I need new Dumbells here soon, have a Weider machine with chest press and fly but it maxes as 200...
Great for my girl but I'd love to ditch it soon for the space, get a new toy for the gym

Oven and backyard looking dope!

Add bands to your pressing/flyes - they're a must for home gyms. Cheap, weigh nothing, hang em anywhere and you can use them to drastically increase the difficulty of moving free weights or on machines. Loop em behind your upper back and over your palms and go to work!

At my old gym where the only machine was a plate-loaded lat pulldown, I would add bands when doing tricep pushdowns to smooth out the weight curve so it wasn't so jerky.

Totally agree! a cheap set of bands can do wonders for a home gym.

Not to mention if you ever need to travel and want to get some solid work in still, theyre small, relatively light, and easy to pack.

Lol our dog wipes out enough back there as it is an ice rink would be endlessly entertaining

Too long missing from here, sorry guys I was mostly absent from social media as well.

Had a lot of holiday events to get to and a lot of work to do, would have been prime time for media posts but sometimes I need to allocate more of my free time to family and friends. With everyone off work it was perfect

Great holidays both at home and with family, last one was today out of town.

Klutzy got me a new drum kit (my previous one I sold a good while back in tighter times) so that will win some spare time as well

Also got some new games here, lots of nerdy gifting here at home. Been doing puzzles

Going to frame them and get something up on the walls in the home theatre

Love puzzles! I always have one in progress that I build bits of when I'm home Invalid Link Removed
Invalid Link Removed Dinos are the in progress one and cereals are next

We built that dinosaur one at my previous employer and hung it in our warehouse lol

Cereal one is very cool, fitting for most AM guys too lol

Chest on deck today, still holding firm with my lifts and down to 184 now even after Xmas eats

Losing 1/week is a definite win through this season for me

I will have to put up a new thread for nerdy lifters it seems

I got DBZ socks haha

Klutzy got Sailor Moon and Pokemon, plus some Fallout clothing

Bro lifts went great today, not pushing above my 10 rep while cutting but I got up 245x 10 I had scheduled in today, easy following 2 warmup sets, then bumped down to 210 and got in 10 sets of 10 while supersetting rear/front/side raises and some military presses

Shoulders are feeling that after benching too but they need some more stimulus IMO right now. Would love to round them out/build them up nicer this year

In for the needy lifter thread ha. I got a squirtle water bottle from my sisters bf ha
