Having expertise on a certain field/subject kinda *does* give someone a trump card over the opinions of others who lack said expertise on the subject. That’s how expertise works.
Ive noticed the people with the strongest opinions about something are often also the people who know the least aout it.
The people on the Left with the most rabid opinions about gun control are almost always people who know nothing about firearms or gun ownership, for example.

There is definitely media-manipulation with a political agenda. Both sides do it. And the dopey Qanon guys flail around on the perimeter. But when the stories are utterly ridiculous and people STILL believe them, believe ANYTHING just because their distrust for the government runs sooooo deep, then we have some serious problems.
There was no storm that came, there was no plan to trust. There was no special forces raid on Dominion servers in Germany, there was no Vatican spy satellite, the pope was not a CGI hologram. There were no troops waiting in the tunnels under congress to take them to Gitmo, and the national guard didn't fence and surround the capitol as deputized marshal's to arrest congress either. Not a god damned thing happened on March 4th and Trump isn't secretly still the President. And JFK Jr didn't come back to the place of his father's death in Dallas to set things straight. I could go on and on. But after this many utterly embarrassing stories fell flat, I can't see how anyone still follows qanon enough to keep posting it here!
I happen to believe in the deep state to the extent of intelligence apparatus influencing the election with deliberate leaks. The text messages from Strzok and Paige, the leaks from Comey, McCabe.... most likely with Brennan at the top pulling strings, who was caught wiretapping Angela Merkel and members of congress and the media. WHAT was done can be proven, the why is always subject to question.
I also happen to believe the covid pandemic was used to help steal the election. Dirty tricks go back to long before Nixon. And big tech's control of the global information flow makes it hard to decipher and counter. BUT that is even more of a reason to challenge obvious stupidity at the extremes and focus on bringing intelligent light to the vast grey information battleground in the middle.

My guess is that Covid was an accident that leaked out of the lab. And like the dems have said many times - never let a crisis go to waste!
The dems have been pushing for vote by mail for years. Obviously because it has less safeguards to prevent cheating. And covid delivered it to them on a silver platter.... along with the 2020 election! The entire premise is built on a lie! If covid is so contagious and dangerous that we can't vote in person on election day, then how come we can go to Walmart every week?!?!?
THAT combined with big tech working to stop the Trump movement and swing the election. Zuckerberg and his faux-fact checkers suppressed any negative press about Hunter/Biden and amplified any bad press about Trump. And then paid to have hundreds of ballot collection boxes spread all over the country to aid/accelerate ballot harvesting, and a deliberate effort to push registration and vote-corrections for only one party.
And Trump didn't help himself with poorly timed and worded lawsuits. Guiliani sweating black hair dye under the hot lights. Sidney Powell and gang now facing a billion dollar defamation suit from Dominion. While we all wasted precious time counting and recounting the same ballots.

I do think the PLA in China research bioweapons, but I dont think this was used to stop the Dump movement at all. If anything, China leaked it out to stop the Hong Kong protests, but Im not even so sure about that. I think more than likely it accidentally leaked out of the lab, thats probably most likely.

I understand what you’re saying, but we must be careful to think in absolutes here. Expertise is great. To automatically assume that a person with expertise is right can lead to group think and consequences.
An example would be when a group of doctors(high level of expertise) prescribe a drug that ends up being harmful and killing a lot of people. Surely you can agree with this example?

Thinking more about this Ukraine invasion and what could or should be done about it...
If it was ever 'really' about preventing Ukraine from joining NATO, that would be easy enough to fix. And its a reasonable demand since we would never allow Russia or China to set up military bases in Canada either! The solution would be to give Putin that commitment in writing, Ukraine will not join NATO or stage western offensive weapons on their territory (a WIN for Putin) and we would demand the war immediately ends and all Russian troops leave Ukraine including Donbass and Crimea (fixing the Obama/Biden mistake and a WIN for us). But it now seems like this goes much deeper than just Ukraine.
Russia has Belarus in its pocket, peacekeeping troops in Kazakhstan, a full invasion of Ukraine, and may be targeting Moldova next. Is Putin intent on restoring the old Soviet Union by force? And if he really has that goal (based on his prior statements, writings, and actions) then what does this mean for the Baltics (NATO member states Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania)??

I think Putin might be satisfied with rebuilding the old Soviet Union including all states OTHER than the Baltics? Its been stated pretty clearly that we would go to any length defending NATO states including the Baltics. So presume for a moment those are off the table.
The big question becomes.... is that something we are obligated (morally or otherwise) to stop? How many millions need to die before the free world steps in to stop a Putin, or a Hilter??
What does this mean for China and Taiwan?
And if Russia and China unite against the west... where will Turkey and India land?

Biden is looking pretty weak, begging our enemies like Iran and Venezuela for help.

Unless NATO and US intervene first I dont think Putin is even considering those baltic countries as that would lead to Article 5 and potentially mass destruction of Russia, which you gotta admit that dude loves Russia.
Id consider potentially another invasion of Georgia since they officially applied for the EU and they have their own desires for NATO but we will see how that pans out and how that even gets pushed after this Ukraine/NATO push debacle.
I consider the "Free world" as responsible as Putin for this war, Ive seen multiple analysists (not on TV) war for many years the potential of full scale invasion of Ukraine if they pushed for NATO, plus you throw in that 2014 incident, they are all to blame....although deep in my heart Im rooting for Ukrainian independence. I think India is trying to remain neutral but in last case scenario they would side with the West and NATO since they have had beef and border issues/battles with China for years. Dunno about Turkey havent followed that.
China invading Taiwan is something to watch for, but China does now there are significant consequences in doing so but the problem here is we are way overly dependent on them including pharmaceuticals so they can play games too where Russia cant.

It's a bit of a quandry. How many people do we let Putin kill to achieve his goal? Because not intervening is in fact letting it happen. At what point is it the same as letting Hitler run wild?
Afghanistan was such a total disaster... did we learn anything from that? But Ukraine actually seems like a noble cause, I am inspired by their courage and will to fight.
When is it the right time to risk everything to support other freedom loving people?

Im going to sound like a broken record here, but here it goes. NATO was established in 1949 to counter Soviet Union agression. The Soviet Union collapsed. The the 90s NATO and Clinton made deals and promises not to expand east. Since then they expanded east. Putin stood by and one country after another on his borders became NATO countries. Weaponry inched closer to Russia. Politicians from the west and the US want Russia to fail as a country.
I really wouldnt compare this to Hitler, its a totally different situation here.
And on Putin's side, since he took office he saw the US and NATO destroy many sovereign nations, all of them illegal, they destroyed Iraq killing a million people who had nothing to do with 9/11, Lybia was destroyed, Syria was destroyed, etc....... Before that you have Western leaders such as Madeline Albright told that the US sanctions on Iraq has caused the death 500,000 children, and she says it was all worth it. She comes out and says Putin is making a historic mistake....who the fuq is she????
There is no ethical integrity in the west, although I still consider them the lesser of evils, Putin is laughing his ass off when they try to demonize him.
What about Yemen? We finance and helped the complete catastrophe of Yemen, currently the worst humanitarian crisis on the planet, but they want us to give money to Ukrainians?
