Well, MaineHealth is the blanket organization for my hospital, other major hospitals, and the majority of healthcare practices and labs in my state. When the mandate was announced, it was said that 85% of us were vaccinated regardless. I know at least some individuals that were not vaccinated have since received their first shot, while others are scrambling to find a medical exemption as religious exemptions are not an option. If they have not received their second shot by October 1st, their job will be terminated.

There is one girl in my RT department who says she has strongly been considering leaving but she can’t afford to lose her health insurance for her family amongst everything else. Fun fact, the CEO of MaineHealth was exempt from wearing a mask while at work because he claimed it gave him anxiety.

So anyway, we know the vaccine is not 100% and I’m willing to bet those people who tested positive thus far were asymptomatic and that’s why they continued to work. While we can say 85% were vaccinated throughout MaineHealth, I really don’t know how many employees in my hospital are vaccinated. We are also in very close contact with so many people, so I don’t think 7 people so far out of at least 200 employees that worked or even walked down the halls of that floor is too bad in either case 🤷‍♂️

Basically, they have to do this testing to cover their ass for patient safety mainly. It’s kind of foolish though because all of us work everywhere in the hospital due to rotating assignments. Not to mention exposures outside of work. They may as well just test us every week regardless! Not that I want that…haha

if the vaccines were as effective as they 1st promised you would think that between all the people who have already had the virus [which according to statistics is tens of millions] along with all the people who have been vaccinated [which again according to statistics is in the tens of millions] your chances of catching the virus would be very minimal?

so we are presented with 2 choices...1,they were lying about effectiveness of vaccines, 2.they didn't know?

if i were to give 'them' the benefit of doubt and go with number 2--if they didn't know that effectiveness would only last 6 months---then how the hell could 'they' be saying with certainty that there are no long term side effects from vaccines?

look at all the phamaceutical products that go thru the normal clinical trials of 5-7 years and then get recalled because of side effects...if i remember correctly i believe there are over 4,000 products recalled each and every year-and those products went thru the normal 5-7 years of clinical trials before going on the market!!!!

i'm just a hick from indiana but i have just a little commonsense....even my measly little high school education tells me that those vaccines seem very sketchy...

holiday weekend is coming up, how about some awareness against drinking/drugging and driving.....i've got 50 cents that says more people will die labor day weekend from impaired driving than from covid--even including the @Ricky10 hotbed of covid.

Over 1k died from covid two days ago. I think covid will beat the drunk drivers.

The FDA is the FDA, and has to be taken with more than a grain of salt regardless. I don’t know why a percentage of people are holding off until FDA approval of the vaccines. Many of us agree that it is just as corrupt as our government, and of course it is.

Nonetheless, they do mostly approve some medication/vaccines that are more beneficial than harmful, so we can’t fully discredit them. The vaccines will be approved very soon, but the legitimacy behind their stamp of approval shouldn’t mean anything more than where we are now in my head. Bottom line, the FDA is a non-factor in this for me and is irrelevant. Honestly, I don’t think any of us should believe they won’t be approved.

any death is bad..i have a personal experience with drunk driving-my daughters family were almost all killed by a drunk driver several years ago--

i looked it up-from 2014 to 2018, 945 people died from impaired driving labor day weekend--you are right looks like covid will win-send me your info and i will send you the 50 cents!!!

that doesn't answer the question of long term side effects--remember over 4,000 drugs yearly are recalled AFTER 5-7 years of clinical trial.

Well it’s not uncommon for drugs that they approve to get pulled...even at a much lower stringency than the vaccine injuries and deaths that have already occurred, and are sure to come.

on average around 4,500 drugs and devices are pulled from US shelves each year. the recalled products have US food and drug [FDA] approval and in many cases are widely ingested, injected or implanted before being recalled.

this is a article from-the international journal of health sciences------ 'unsafe drugs were prescribed more than 100 million times in the UNITED STATES before being recalled'......

these were drugs that had gone thru full clinical trials and were FDA approved.

here where i live in southern indiana i get AG REPORTS hourly on the radio...they are saying that due to crops being washed out by flooding this year that this years corn and soy bean crops are going to be horrible...farmers are predicting a huge spike in price of chicken and meat coming very soon---might be a good time to stock up.

you won't see this on mainstream media but the info is there if you look for it...just giving a headsup!!!

I spent over $400 on groceries a few weeks ago. $5 for the cheapest bacon! Wth?!


Also, gas prices are hovering around $4.85 to $5.05 in California. Lol, and here I am interviewing for jobs an hour/hour and a half away…

It’s not too long, so I just posted the entire thing…haha

Many people have been hesitant to get any of the currently available “vaccines” for COVID-19. Why? Because they are uncomfortable taking an injection of viral genetic material known as messenger RNA (mRNA) into the cells throughout their bodies. Messenger RNA is the genetic code that the body uses to produce a protein that the virus. The particular protein that is made allows the virus to attach itself to the cells of your body. The current COVID-19 products represent the first time this technology has been used in humans. Little is known about the long-term effects of this technology.

I will not cite any negative data about the currently available mRNA products. I do not want to be accused of spreading misinformation. Instead I want to encourage those who have concerns about the currently available vaccines that there is a vaccine that is in development and will hopefully be available later this year. It is called Novavax.

Novavax is made up of an antigen (the spike protein from COVID-19) combined with an adjuvant. An antigen is a protein that the immune system does not recognize as belonging to your body and so it raises antibodies against it. An adjuvant is a substance the boosts the body’s response to the antigen. A two-dose regimen administered 21 days apart is safe and associated with a robust immune response.

The protein is made in the laboratory using the genetic material from the virus. This process is similar to how insulin is made commercially. The spike protein cannot replicate itself in your body. Novavax cannot cause infection. The amount of protein introduced is consistent from person to person.

Novavax is much more similar to traditional vaccines even though it uses new technology. Therefore, I believe that many of the vaccine hesitant will be willing to take it. You should feel comfortable taking it. Again, the choice should always be yours to make in consultation with your medical provider.

On June 30, 2021 the New England Journal of Medicine reported on a study of over 15,000 persons in England. Novavax was 89.7% effective in preventing symptomatic COVID-19 infections. It was 86.3% effective against the alpha variant and 96.4% effective against other variants of the virus. The results are better than the currently available vaccines produce.

Reported side effects included injection-site tenderness, fatigue, headache, and muscle pain. Adverse events were similar in the vaccine and placebo groups (0.5% in each), and no deaths were attributed to the receipt of the vaccine. Novovax has an excellent safety profile.

It is likely that we are heading for a time when vaccination will be required to fully engage in social activities, e.g. air travel. I will avoid any discussion of medical privacy, personal autonomy, natural immunity or government intrusion. Instead I support using a safe, effective, more traditionally-made vaccine that can be taken with confidence. I hope that the FDA will approve the use of Novavax – it can prevent COVID and cure hesitancy.

There is also a new “vaccine“ likely coming out by Pfizer if I recall correctly, that works more so in the way of how the monoclonal antibodies enhance immunity. I came across it a few days ago and of course now I can’t find it anywhere :(

Oh, here is the other one. Apparently it is from AstraZeneca and is called Provent (AZD7442)

AZD7442 is a combination of two LAABs - tixagevimab (AZD8895) and cilgavimab (AZD1061) - derived from B-cells donated by convalescent patients after SARS-CoV-2 virus. Discovered by Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Invalid Link Removed, the human monoclonal antibodies bind to distinct sites on the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein7 and were optimised by AstraZeneca with half-life extension and reduced Fc receptor and complement C1q binding. The half-life extension more than triples the durability of its action compared to conventional antibodies and could afford up to 12 months of protection from COVID-19 following a single administration.

Most recalls are due to contamination or manufacturing issues. They're not normally due to the ingredient itself just turning dangerous.

is there a limit, or has anyone even asked?

hey, if i get this booster shot even after getting the 1st 2 shots can you guarantee me this will be the last one?

it aint even about covid.....why? cause i told you you had too, lol.

i wake up everyday so grateful to be retired!!!!!

Well best case scenario- which I REALLY hope happens, is that after this delta variant runs its course, and then whatever else we have circulating for a variant during the winter is that this will become a less virulent virus that is more like the common cold or flu. There are already vaccines in the works, actually by Noravax as well that will be “all in one“ influenza and China virus protection which I presume will just be annual.

If things get better as opposed to worse, I don’t think there will be any indication for the boosters we are hearing about today beyond this round. Also, we will hopefully have other alternative vaccines/therapeutics available like the ones I mentioned above if needed. Noravax and Provent.

i don't know if you read my AG REPORT posts from last night but if what i have been hearing comes true there will be a new problem confronting us....FOOD
