The gamma variant? No, I haven’t really heard or read much about that. Just of course the current delta variant and the next one they are watching out for being the lambda variant.

I was skeptic about the delta variant when it was first mentioned months ago. I thought it was just going to be like all the other variants we heard about prior, that real didn’t seem to change anything. This delta variant has certainly been living up to the hype!

very happy my wife and i were able to retire when we did...we are fully stockpiled and ready for the diben days of doom and gloom that are coming---and they are coming!!!

The deal Trump made with the Taliban was to pull US forces out of Afghanistan by May 1, 2021 in an orderly negotiated departure. Biden changed that date to withdraw by Sept 11th which did two things:

1) moronically ties the date of our defeat in Afghanistan to the date of the 9/11 NY attack, and the 9/11 Benghazi embassy attack.

2) changing the agreed upon May 1st date broke the deal with the Taliban, which gave them free reign to go on this military offensive and steamroll the entire cluntry

Now Biden is hiding from the news cameras at Camp David, and Jen Psaki took a weeks vacation. LOL

They were going to steamroll through the country no matter when the withdrawal took place. It was going to be that easy no matter what.

Other than that, this 9/11 date was a bit distasteful.

I was curious as to why so many people have no guns in Afghanistan and my speculation was right.

The overwhelming majority of modern small arms outside of Afghan government control are technically illegal without a special permit issued by the Ministry of the Interior.

Another case for the 2A....the crooks still get their guns........unfortunately Anti-2A Republicrats and Demicans that propped up this war ended up "somehow" giving most of their arms to the Taliban over the past 20 years leaving civilians helpless to defend themselves when we leave.

If we left in May as promised, we could have had an orderly departure, and the Taliban would have then taken control. Pretty much no avoiding that.

The difference is that Biden broke that deal, the Taliban rolled ahead collapsing our Afghan partners far ahead of the Biden time-line, and we are now running away in panic as the Taliban surges through the gates and desperate afghans pack the evacuation routes. Likely some Americans still isolated and trapped in random cities outside of Kabul, and I hope they don't face Televised executions later....

Did you see photos of Afghans falling off planes... clinging to them during takeoff like a zombie movie?!??

I guess lesson here is you cant base decisions on a timeline that you may not be in office....and this is yet another lesson for the world on making deals with the USA, there is no trust with the USA (specifically the US Government) and rightfully so especially with short term leadership changes....and even 8 years isnt much....but making deals outside of a political term is a red alarm.

What made Groper Joe the biggest azzwipe on the planet right now were his claims in July.

The approach that should have been taken was when talking to the public, "the USA is in danger of an economic collapse and the biggest national security threat to our nation is spending another penny on all these wars so we must leave today to save the Republic, we are broke we need to cut spending, its an emergency and it is what it is, we cant help it"....but of course thats not the case. Will you vote for me in 2024? LOL

I think the decision to leave wasn't a bad idea. At some point it needed to happen to let the country run itself. But it was executed poorly.

Yup, I guessed it right, Groper Joe started in speech today about expanding the wars in other areas of course including a focus on Somalia.

Other than that, he actually made alot of good points I strongly agree with such as not being in a country where we spent 1 trillion dollars, built a army of 300k and they are not willing to fight....plus the fact that there is never a "good" time to exit.

Other than that he is still a low life piece of crap.

These are world issues and there are bigger humanitarian crisis's in places such as Eastern Turkestan (aka Xinxiang Province China,) Yemen which has the worst atrocities in the globe and backed by US policy, the fact that almost 6 million children are on the brink of starvation globally today and I can go on you get the point.

No matter what your feelings are on Afghanistan, the fact is our wonderful America is dead broke and cannot afford it, cannot afford to even take care of their own. We don’t want to end like the USSR did. Unfortunately that is not the reason we are for the most part (we aint really fully leaving trust me, we never will, we were there for decades before creating the Taliban too) leaving.

I worry that this fell apart in the end much faster than expected, and there are probably Americans trapped behind the lines who didn't even make it to Kabul. Hopefully the Taliban just wants them out of the country, more than a public execution on TV....

At least the Taliban got CNN in line quickly! LOL.

It's like another Vietnam.

Even a slow pull out would not have prevented the Taliban taking over control again. It is far more complex than that.

You can't just walk in, occupy then hope a place takes up western Democracy, especially in a place that is used to theocracy. You need to stay, rebuild, and ingrain new ideologies over decades. It was doomed to fail because a lot of civilians still support the Taliban regime.

But at least the Taliban banned vaccines and stormed the Presidential palace. Remind you of anyone in the US?

Not necessarily so, and that would be a strategic mistake and you really dont know how many were really truly Taliban loyalists who infiltrated the system, as after all they didnt even put up a fight when it all came to end it.

Even so, this war caused the deaths of 69k Afghan forces, and additional 51k of "militants, another additional 51k of innocent civilians....so thats 171,000 Afghan deaths because the USA and NATO invaded and also started a civil war....between a group of people financed and trained by the USA vs a group of people that used to be financed and trained by the USA.

Consider the effects as well, the current crop of Taliban many of them were children when they have had family members killed, fathers killed, mothers killed, relatives killed, homes destroyed all on the hands of US intervention.....I mean who's side are these children going to most likely join when they are old enough? Repeat cycle.

This isnt just a theocratic war, this was a war to rid of an imperial power that caused mass destruction on their nation and propped up a corrupt slimy regime that had little to nothing to offer to the Afghan people.

This isnt a defense on my part of the Taliban, I cant stand them but Im calling it as honestly as I see it.
