It looks like the Republican consensus is that what Trump did was wrong and BS, and lead his supporters to think they were carrying out his wishes, but that ultimately it was not grounds for removals from office?

From Mitch himself, who voted to acquit Trump:

There's no question — none — that President Trump is practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of the day. No question about it. The people who stormed this building believed they were acting on the wishes and instructions of their President...

As I stood up and said clearly at that time, the election was settled. It was over. But that just really opened a new chapter of even wilder, wilder and more unfounded claims...

The leader of the free world cannot spend weeks thundering that shadowy forces are stealing our country and then feign surprise when people believe him and do reckless things.

I mean, literally no politician in office today is fiscally responsible. How much did they spend on the Benghazi investigation? Didn’t nothing come from that for Hillary? In a Republican controlled house.

True. I just heard a politician argue against $600-2000 stimulus checks saying “if that amount of money will help you, you’re screwed anyway” or something to that effect. He was not arguing for larger or more frequent stimulus checks, but for NO stimulus checks. If the government is keeping places limited and shutdown, it’s pretty much their responsibility to help the people get through it, not just leave them to fend for themselves while still collecting taxes from them.

The assaulted a news cameraman because they thought he was a cop! Two NYPD officers were injured. One of them was bitten. I’m glad this is a peaceful demonstration.

i remember very vividly how democrats and the media were always DEMANDING that trump condemn violent behavior from right wing groups...waiting for biden to condemn BLM and this violence!!!!

anyone think the media will DEMAND that biden condemn BLM for this violence?
 
What was their goal even? This was well before Trump was even acquitted, not that is acquittal is justification for violence of course. I just don't understand what they were trying to do, or why. Biden is President now, and he's just started his term. You'd think he'd be given some time to try to make some changes and implement some actual policies and reforms before people become violent about... something?

I mean, he kind of was viewed as the one calling for it, so a lot of people thought it was his responsibility to help quell it. As far as I know, Biden himself hasn't worked anyone up into a violent frenzy. He has seemingly said nothing to condemn this, which is not cool by any means, but there is a slight difference. Not that either one is good, there can just be different levels of bad. Doesn't mean they're not both bad and unacceptable. Which they are.
 
I don’t even have anything to gain from the impeachment, but watching the democrats with **** in their face, again, makes me happy. Stupid democrats.

house majority is required, so it aint gonna happen. but 24 democrat house seats are up for re-election in 2022 with democrats only holding a 9 seat advantage.

yes, i think it's BS biden isn't condemning the violence since he endorsed the very group causing the violence...

trump has been aquitted, so you cannot say he is guilty of inciting violence since that is what he was charged with.

I can say whatever I want lol. In this thread, we have people saying that 9/11 was an inside job despite the official response being that it wasn’t. We have people saying we never went to the moon despite every country in the world acknowledging it. Those are reasonable yet what I’m saying is what crossed the line of being at odds with the truth?

I mean, all I’m hearing in this thread is how garbage politicians are. But now what they rule is Gospel and infallible? You’re better than that man. McConnel even said Trump was responsible for it but voted to acquit him. The whole thing was farcical.

But YES, we are in agreement that Biden should condemn these idiots, and these idiots should be charged.

big difference between innocent and not guilty---i still remember oj simpson and those 2 people he was found not guilty of killing--i bet not even one person on that jury that found oj not guilty thought he was innocent!!!!

biden will condemn violence in general but never blm in particular and the media will let him off the hook...

Your mistake here is thinking there's an external reason, valid or otherwise, for their rioting. The issues are more internal: i cant be bothered to get a job, people won't give me money, I'm being held responsible for my own actions etc
