BigT - have you been following the SpaceX progress? The new dragon crew module is bringing Americans to the space station again, on American made rockets launched from American soil. No more hitching rides from the Russians!
At the same time Elon is developing his giant new Starship. Once completed... the starship is going to be used to colonize Mars and a modified version is in the running to become the new moon lander.
Meanwhile the NASA Artemis program is planning our return to the moon for an extended stay.

Geez, well that’s good! I have actually had a pretty dark week, as I was informed nearly a week ago that my best friend (understatement) was found dead in his apartment. He was actually recently China virus positive and symptomatic, so I thought he may have been hospitalized and that was why I had trouble reaching him. Turns out, he died from unrelated and undisclosed causes.

What I said wasn’t complex so I don’t know why you asked that initial question. I’ll elaborate: I think we have been sold a fear based lie that using an insane amount of tax dollars in space is critical to your protection/defense/advancement of society. When in fact, we are paying to build our own cage and control mechanisms.
Oddly similar to covid-19 of you think about it. “Stay in your home there is an invisible enemy everywhere. Don’t worry, we will print trillions to help the business’s we shut down through regulation, but 99% of it will trickle up to the billionaires” They constantly use fear to control us and we pay for it.

i did not know that we are taking our people to iss again, thank you for telling me this. it was truly confusing why obama crushed the nasa budget and we had to hitch-hike with russians to get to the iss. i am aware of what musk is planning for mars and applaud him, truly a man of genius.
i question after we spent so much money and resources back in 60's and early 70's on our space program to land men on the moon we abandoned it.
the research i did tells me that the chinese for sure and most likely the russians have plans to militarize space, from what i read it would be easy for either to disable satelites. i think trump formed space force to defend our interests in space-the final frontier.

as of 2016 nasa has published over 2,000 spinoffs in the world of computer technology, environment and agriculture, health and medicine, public saffety, transportation, recreation and industrial productivity. i think of those 2,000 at least 2 have improved my life???

Thank you! He was one of a kind. The only person I will ever know that could make people fall in love with him after meeting him for a few hours on one occasion. It’s always the special ones that leave our lives early.
Yes, today is the first day I didn’t cry. Childhood life friends can’t be replaced, and he was one of those people that almost seemed immortal, as he always beat the odds. I’m starting to be able to use his memory and spirit as a source of strength moving forward.

Russians were recently seen with a satellite that launched a projectile outward. It appeared to be a weapon designed to take out other satellites. They claimed is was a drone for maintenance purposes.
So yeah, the space wars have already begun and we better have a plan to win.

-Advancements in technology from a “space agency” aren’t necessarily due to space exploration nor do they justify the dollar spend.
-The gov has a monopoly on information
-I think many would agree they have technology that isn’t released to the public
-convenience I would say would be the second most prevalent way people give up freedoms (think Alexa)
-please watch this video and try not to laugh at what billions upon billions of tax dollars have gotten us....some piss poor entertainment I guess?

I’ve realized whenever your reality is challenged you deflect with humor instead of offering anything of value. Maybe you yourself are 15 and that would make more sense. I would say the inability to communicate or truly see other perspectives was more likely to be a major factor of the fall of rome.

That video doesn't show anything. Literally. There are NO wires seen. You can't just claim there are wires based on a random hand movement or shirt pucker. You can't hand select 3 minutes of video clips from a YouTube kook to DENY thousands of hours of video from space station missions verified by hundreds of experts. That kind of selective self-deception is not healthy.

What it very clearly shows is mistakes by the actors and that cgi visual tech is used. Can’t your eyes see the physics clearly change and fail? Or are you too starry eyed to see? Of course if this happened 100% of the time then the lie would be easy for even the most hopeful trekkies to realize its all just a show, so yes these clips are outliers. Maybe they go to space and fake it too? Idk, but if you can see through your indoctrination it’s clearly fishy.
Trust me, I don’t fault anyone that puts their hope in space...we have all been programmed for thousands of hours at this point that it is real.

i was 11 years old when armstrong and aldrin walked on the moon...i can still remember everyone being so excited we beat the russians...the russians were way ahead of us in space exploration in the early 60's and the race to be 1st on the moon was very heated----there is no way in hell that the russians would have let us get away with a hoax---literally, figuratively and abdolutely no way in hell the russians would not have busted out a hoax.The conspiracy of not going into space has been proven wrong countless times. There is literally evidence left on the moon that any amateur sky gazer can see with their own eyes.

I don't get why you think man hasn't been to space, people watched Felix and Alan freefall from the outer layers of the atmosphere, and you can quite literally reflect a laser off the moon if you position one in the correct place that the beam hits the mirrors placed on the moons surface.
I mean sure, you can pretend that space flight isn't real as much as you like, but the reality is its been done. You being ignorant of that fact does not change it.

Because the hyperinflation that is coming from this modern monetary policy would have ended the US 40+ years ago had they done it then. Buckle for for the great reset.
UN estimates world hunger could be solved with $30billion annually. Nasa will receive close to $20billion this year if I’m remembering right. So feed 2/3 of the starving people, which a ton of are children, or keep playing Star Trek and hoping the universe holds the answers to our problems. So ironic and gross how we are as humans.

They dont have that much cash floating around today, they dont have anything at all actually. The US government have bankrupted us 27+ trillion dollars broke.
The problems of today has really started with quantitative easing thanks to GOP Bushy Coke Jr. and of course, the rest of the government, from Obobo to Dump to now Biden are addicted to the monetary methadone and found a way to tax the shyt out of everybody without calling it a tax and making their puppet masters richer by the minute.
To be honest, we dont know how much we are spending on our space program because nobody knows the size of the black budgets and how they are also financed, that includes printing money without telling us.
I have different feelings about the Moon landing...for one thing its a remarkable achievement, but then I think of all the people suffering in the country and the world and I would have prefered using money to directly help millions of people or put the money into cancer/medical research rather than giving them a false sense of patriotism and walk away with no benefit.
I actually like the direction of Private companies tackling the Space program but they need to get my tax dollars out of it and let me decide how to spend my cash.

Ricky, I am sorry to hear this. I lost a best friend about 7 years ago, tragically he took his own life. Not a day goes by that I don't think of him and while I can say it has gotten easier, the pain is still there and I often still have times I will cry about it a little to be honest.
And you are right, the special ones go too soon.
Yes. I was asking because I think that it is easy to underestimate the benefit of what we receive, when we have no actual knowledge of the benefit.
For instance, if I were to tell you that we are going to spend $400B to go to the moon, I can see that being a little uncalled for. That much money for a vacation for a couple guys is insane. But if I add up all that we learn from it, the tech that is developed, the understanding of the universe that helps us develop better tech, the resources we gain, the potential we build for the future, the competition we can avoid...then maybe I would be willing to spend even more than $400B. Most people saying it costs too much or whatever have no direct knowledge that their lives would be crazy different without NASA. We want to believe little green men came and gave us the tech that created all the progress over the last 70 years, but in reality it was humans trying to leave earth that did it.
We probably wouldn't even be talking on this forum without it.

I don't necessarily disagree with a lot of your points TBH. I think you are only focused on one side of the equation thought - the cost. You haven't adequately determine the return on that cost because you don't know the specifics. That's my sole critique I think.

In a roundabout way, in other words, your critique shows the very ingenuity that your critique claims is lacking.
Haven't watched the videos yet to see what you are referencing, so I clearly lack education specific to this...but historically the claims I have seen of videos being faked due to movements and such are easily examined by the physics of low gravity (which are often misunderstood by the people making claims of fakery) and poor video quality, etc.
I have seen kits of videos, even with modern tech, that appear to show something that is inaccurate.
I think you are holding onto the idea of a hoax that ignores all plausible evidence and tries to cherry pick evidence to fit your narrative. It is unusually liberal of you TBH.

I missed your post, I had similar thoughts. 18,000 children die every day of starvation and malnutrition and people only want money printed when it buys them a new 4k TV or watch them colonize Mars so they can move there but keep us here to die.
In addition, 69 and 72 the US dollar was backed by gold, now its not thanks to Dick Nixon. Now they print the crap out of thin air digitally and dont even waste expenses on paper. Its ridiculous.
