Donald Trump running for president

Don’t go get a Subway sandwich at 2 in the morning during the winter. Those MAGA people will throw bleach on you and put a noose around your neck. Stay safe, my friend.
This guys is wearing a shirt which stands for "6 million wasnt enough", referring to the Jews that died during ww2 in concentration camps.

Fox managed to convince half your nation that the election was stolen.

The same half who say "we're not sheep". Despite, well, no evidence at all.

25 deaths out of 25 million and your country sets up mandatory 'quarantine camps'...sounds like something they would do in china. i doubt we would let the government pull a gestapo stunt like that here, maybe you should start a movement to grow some balls in NZ and stop being sheep.

They have just about half the population of NYC. Put in the NYC gangs in NZ and the would outnumber their military!

You guys fight against everything your privileged as*ses take for granted.

We just wanna make sure we dont end up like weakling tulips who have been stripped down to fighting with pillows and drunks.

People aren't put in camps, you know that right?

I guess you dont have an empathy, understanding and compassion for the Maori people of NZ who if arent thrown in a prison cell are living in a camp from coast to coast in their own country.

Yeah those are their only 2 options. Much like American Indians, we just herd them into pockets and take their lands and claim it our country.

Jiigzz,

I do respect your point of view but you really come off here as someone who is literally reading propaganda. Fox News is 1 of 3 cable news networks....which pales in comparison to major news network numbers. Its 1 out of 6 tv news outlets in which the other 5 lean left and nobody really disputes that. Its top show gets 4 million viewers out of population of 330 million. It doesn't beat any of the major network news outlets in numbers...ever. I understand its the left's boogeyman but really, you are way base here.

To be fair, I do. It's hard not to, which i don't think anyone is immune to on either side.

But I respect you calling me out on it. I went way to far.

Get a bit passionate, and sometimes forget to show respect

Fair enough. We all do it. I wasn't trying to call you out....It resembles the comment I made months ago about someone not living here. Its not that your point isn't valid, but it seems its being shaped from the outside in...

Its the same on the right blaming CNN...more people voted for Trump this time than 2016....so if CNN was trying to hurt his chances, they did a piss poor job.

The same applies everywhere, if you draw battle lines, people will choose sides.

I tend to think that the majority of every day people want roughly the same stuff, but the way it is presented to us is that both sides want to destroy the country. We have it here (albeit not this election), and I see it happening in places like the UK and France.

I'm way more centre-left than I present and am right leaning on a few core principles.

I made this mistake of going on Laura Ingrahams Twitter and i can definitely see why battle lines get drawn on both sides. Every one literally calls each other the enemy.

Everyone in that media/political bubble does..not everyone in everyday life. In fact, 99% of people don't watch anything related to news/politics in their daily lives here. 99% of the people here couldn't find New Zealand on a map and if they did its because they are Lord of the Rings fans. Thats not an insult to you or New Zealand, but a reflection of how ethnocentric this population is. People care 10x more about what they are having for breakfast tomorrow than who is winning the Georgia runoffs....because the fate of the nation is at hand...if you listen to the media.

Every single media outlet is nothing but hyperbole these days and everyone knows it...is there some truth in it? Sure..but its amplified 100x to get an emotional reaction.

I know you're way more center left because of what you type. You don't sound like an American Liberal at all...you sound like you're from the EU which is why I harp on the fact that your viewpoints sound like someone from the outside in even though they are on the left side of the spectrum. I can tell...which for you, is good...

You drew a conclusion from that that I didn't make lol. You created a weird argument and then defended that argument.

Like actual whut.

I seriously thought you were better than that.

Eh, here is all I am saying. You posted a meme trying to explain concepts. It was inaccurate propaganda. You then call out that a white man got 3 months for rape and specifically said this was a privilege. You also specifically called for equal opportunity. I applied what you said to the meme, which you rightfully point out is a ridiculous argument....because the meme is ridiculous. It is just propaganda.

lol...i read it on the internet so it must be true---just like all the crap you post about the US-eh?

Just because you read something on the internet doesn't make it true. What Twitter or Facebook decides not to block is true. Everyone knows that.

Well, I don't side with the proud boys just because they have SOME views they probably share in common with me. I probably share some views in common with some liberals too, yet I don't side with them either. I don't condone pointless violence and unfounded intolerance.

Having said that, 2 out of 3 are wearing masks, so they aren't all bad??? Thats all I got.

Fox managed to convince half your nation that the election was stolen.

The same half who say "we're not sheep". Despite, well, no evidence at all.

CNN managed convince half a nation there was NO fraud in the election - despite a huge statistical improbability that ANY president would have won in way Biden won. I have about the same chance of hitting the lottery today. Is it possible, sure. Is it worth investigating? Absolutely.

Plus you quickly forget that Hillary and the democrats started complaining about fraud 4 years ago and just spent 4 years going after election fraud/interference. But now they win and "Hey, it is all cleaned up now."

CNN also convinced everyone that the Biden laptop was not his, etc. No story there.

I fully admit Fox has a party line they push and propaganda, but they are sometimes actually right too,, just like CNN is sometimes actually right despite their own agendas..

That is why critical thinking is more necessary than ever...there is no one source of honest info. You can get lies from the same place you get truth in every case and trying to use a heuristic that "Fox is fake and CNN is truth" is a disaster.

The Soviet Republic of New York strikes again! I feel much safer now that when I go to the fair people arent throwing Nazi stars at me!
---------------------------------------------------------
A new law signed by His Majesty King Cumho now bans the sale or display of Confederate flags, swastikas, and other “symbols of hate” on state property.

“This country faces a pervasive, growing attitude of intolerance and hate—what I have referred to in the body politic as an American cancer,” the King Cumho said.

“By limiting the display and sale of the Confederate flag, Nazi swastika and other symbols of hatred from being displayed or sold on state property, including the state fairgrounds, this bill will help safeguard New Yorkers from the fear-instilling effects of these abhorrent symbols,” King Cumho continued.

Nice job government! And dont blame the Covid-1984 virus, this is government and its minion supporters telling people their work isnt essential and that they must obey or go to jail! Unless your protesting the treatment of meth-heads and celebrating Groper Joe winning the dictatorship, you all obey!

Below a few snippets from the article with link to full article at end.

More people in poverty

Nearly 8 million more Americans have joined the ranks of the poor since June, according to researchers from the University of Chicago and University of Notre Dame.

The poverty rate jumped to 11.7% in November, up from 9.3% in June. That's nearly double the largest annual increase in poverty since the 1960s.

The rise is most noticeable among Black Americans, whose poverty rate went up by 3.1 percentage points, and among those with a high school education or less, who saw a 5.1 percentage point spike.

The poverty rate is increasing even though the unemployment rate fell by 40% over the same period. This disconnect between the two is not surprising since some government benefits have expired, including a $600 federal boost in jobless payments, the researchers said.

Going hungry

Just under 27.4 million adults, or 12.7%, were in households where there was sometimes or often not enough to eat in the last seven days, the Census survey found.

About a month earlier, the number was 25.8 million, or 12%.

Some 19.4% of Arkansas residents suffered from food scarcity, but only 6.4% of Maine residents did. The unemployment rates in those states are 6.2% and 5.4%, respectively.

Among households with children, 17.5% sometimes or often did not have enough to eat in the past weeks, according to the most recent Census data. That compares with 16.1% two weeks prior.

Trouble paying the bills

More than 85.4 million adults, or 35.6%, live in a household where it's been somewhat or very difficult to pay for usual household expenses during the pandemic, according to the most recent Census Household Pulse Survey, which covers November 25 to December 7.

That's up from 80.9 million, or 33.7%, roughly a month earlier.

So I guess I spoke too soon. I woke up this morning and felt there was something different, yet not in a bad way..

I went to the bathroom and couldn’t believe what I saw in the mirror! I discovered that I had grown all of my hair back and looked 20 years younger. Thank you Pfizer!

Haha...yeah!

Seriously though, I feel zero sides from my first inoculation and I have definitely felt worse after prior years of receiving the flu vaccine. I know many people are concerned about the long term unknowns- but everything is unknown in our future...China virus or not..

Personally, I would rather gain immunity on my own terms rather than wondering how/when I may contract the China plague and the short term as well as long term consequences that may accompany that risk. I appreciate people’s apprehensions, but we are in the midst of striving to get the country and the world back to some degree of normalcy. We all want that..

I do believe in the safety of this vaccine, and I hope that people will at least consider it more with my positive experience thus far. It’s one of those instances where you have to think beyond the impact the virus or vaccine may have on yourself, in favor of the greater good of everyone (including yourself) in hopes of all of us returning back to a more functional, enjoyable, and normal lifestyle.

Thats good to hear. I know with a matter of time Ill need to take it, still no need to be first in line especially since my exposure risk is very low.

This is the first year in over a decade I didnt fly to China. It sucked, although I traveled all over NY which is something that never would have happened if it wasnt for the Covid-1984 virus.

I certainly will need a shot to fly there I think.

Can I ask... are the Chinese people nice? Like that’s a serious question. When I went to Hawaii, the Asian tourists there had no damn sense of personal space so even before Covid I was hesitant about visiting Asia.

Thats not really something possible to answer, as in any country its going to depend on who you meet.

Ive met alot of terrific mainland Chinese people, most good and some bad. Ive spent most of my time in Beijing but have traveled to more than a handful of places across the country.

The issue your talking about is more culturally. If you go to Beijing or Shanghai, these cities have over 20 million people each and its very crowded elsewhere too. Its just the way of life to barge in and fight for your spot on line, the bus, subway, etc....also the concept of personal space, privacy and individuality just arent strong like they are here. So you can say its more of a culture clash, but its not just a Chinese thing, its a high pressure big city thing too of trying to get places and swarming though alot of people.

Its really normal in the city to to have a mother lift her 2 year old kid up over a trash can to take a shyt in it right out in the open too. Things are just different, lol.

I understand and it’s blah of me to generalize. Kinda reminds me of New York, or just the east coast. I thought New Yorkers and people from Jersey were the rudest fuckers I have ever met!

I feel far, far more safer in the middle of the night on the streets of Beijing or Shanghai than I do in NYC, including handful of places in NYC I avoid even during the daytime.

Not being naive here, they are alot of hustles, scams, theft and pocket picking all over the place in China, but generally if you keep your guard up and stay street smart by researching the local hustles, your g2g.

I deal with people at the grocery store who are black, white and sometimes Asian and presumably all American- and they all have big issues with manners, personal space, social distancing, not hitting you with their cart, etc. I don't think it would be any worse anywhere else. :sneaky:

My ex worked in India and said they were the nicest people. In the 5 star hotel that is. I said of course, it’s all about customer service. But out in the street was a completely different story.

Lol, Asians can tell other Asians apart, so I’m sure when I go to South Korea I’ll definitely be treated differently. But honestly, it’s like here. When I try out a new nail shop, because I’m Asian they don’t think I’ll tip well, so they are not as nice until I start talking and afterward leave a nice tip.

Also, I have this weird thing I do, and I don’t know how to stop. When I meet someone who speaks broken English, I start breaking English as well. I use to think it was an insult but I dunnoooo....

Yes, I can’t deny that I am probably more gung-ho than someone who is not involved in healthcare. However, this tool isn’t going to gain us much headway if people don’t take it, so we can’t have massive amounts of people waiting years for more safety data to emerge. I’m mainly just trying to share my experience and I would be kidding myself if I thought I had the power to influence anyone’s choice. I will try not to come off as though that is my objective...

I may be singing a different tune after my second inoculation. Sounds as though I will likely be in for a rough ride for ~12 hrs. Oh well...

OMG that is so true! Also when I first visited the Pearl Harbor memorial, they ask for everyone to be silent out of respect. Well, all of the Asians in my group were rattling off loudly in their home language. It’s posted in various languages to be silent.

In mainland China you just dont tip, all your services are right at the up front cost, including taxi's, restaurants, etc....It was certainly awkward at first for me, but thats just the way they operate as a Country.

Overall, when it comes to customer service situations, my experience in China is far better than here in the USA.

And if people want to talk white privilege, I have experienced that in China as well with line cutting, letting me pass quicker through security, and overall the people I encounter want to portray the image their country is wonderful in front of the "foreigner" which is something I freaking hate being called, "wai guo ren" which means foreigner, or outsider. Doesnt matter if you learn fluent Chinese either and live there for 50 years (I dont speak fluent, I just know a little) you will be always just known as the foreigner who happens to speak good Chinese.

Well, as far as your personal racist experiences goes, Im sure BLM will stand up for you, LOL

What language do you speak?

Culturally especially the older generation just speak louder, and my father in law on the phone, my god on a quiet bus forgedaboudit! Its like they think its a hollow tube and they have to reach out to people across the sea manually.

There are people of Asian decent (not sure from where) that predominantly work in housekeeping at my hospital. Very nice people with thick accents, but for some odd reason they seem to have no awareness or they just don’t care about there surroundings. They will just pop up out nowhere directly in your path when you walk down the halls. Or roll equipment out of a room without even looking to see if anyone is coming.

It’s kind of like Somalians trying to drive in the United States. Not pretty...

I believe those may be Filipinos..... I work with three and fml..... although, two of my best friends are Filipinos and they hate them as well because the way they speak is so condescending. When I get emails from them, I just fucking lose it and have to calm down before I respond.
