If someone is raped you can also say they had the responsibility to take a pregnancy test way before the 20 week mark. It only makes sense to want to know as horrible as the situation already is.
If NONE of you have ever been raped- you are in no position to tell someone how they should behave after they have been raped.
What you guys are doing is classic victim blaming.
Do you know what rape does to people? Do you think they just say, "ah well, ive just been raped, time to get a pregnancy test".
No. And if you think that's what it's like, you have your mind seriously shrouded in privilege. You do NOT know what it's like for a rape victim, so do not even PRETEND to understand. You don't understand.
Some people refuse to accept that they have been raped. I had a friend who could not leave her home after she was raped. She would get anxious to the point of vomitting. She couldnt eat, sleep or work. Some guy took away her right to be safe and feel safe and now you're trying to say, "well just get it tested".
Do you know what revictimisation is?
Do you know how hard it would be for someone like her to go in to a doctor's or supermarket, picking up a pregnancy test for that time she got raped? That makes her relive that entire experience.
You are in no position to tell someone what they should do after they have been raped, period.
I work in a place where we deal with victims of a lot of crimes, and the effect it has on their lives is staggering. Is incomprehensible to someone who hasn't gone through it. Rape destroys lives. It destroys relationships.
Ask any girl old enough to get into bars if they have been sexually assaulted by a male while there and i guarantee you most will say they have been.
As a male, like all of you, you don't understand what that is like.
