Donald Trump running for president

Anything by Michael Crichton is perfection. I absolutely recommend "Sphere" on audio, after you read the book. It's a phenomenal performance. Another great surprise was "Swarm".

Walt Becker's "Link" was a surprise for me. I just grabbed it, as well Tess Gerritsen's "Gravity" not to be mistaken by the movie of the same name that stole hers and made it into the movie which was great on it's own footing but the similarity was a bit much. I made mention of it on a blog, and soon after heard she is suing over it. Apparently there is something to that.

A friend who's had an interesting background gave me: Blind Man's Bluff: The Untold Story Of American Submarine Espionage. He gave it to me when I told him how I used to read "The Proceedings" as a young man. A Navy Officer in my parent's building had a subscription. Long story short, I used to take them now and then, he found out, and I had to apologize. Apparently he was an Astronaut. Ha. I did. He was cool, and told me I could keep them.

Has anyone read anything by Nietzsche? I starting watching some videos on YouTube about his perspective on life(and other philosophers)and I am liking it.

Haha so true. But that brings up an interesting thought. Do you think Bernie would have won over Trump? And do you see that as better or worse then are current situation, with Trump?

I do believe that if Bernie wasn't snubbed out by Hillary and dnc, that he would have won the Democratic nomination. Also I do think that he would have won over trump. I think he would actually be worse then Trump; though his ideas sound great on paper, hell I like them on paper, but would suck in the real world. Putting are economy in a world of hurt again.

Its really hard to say but it certainly be possible that Bernie had enough inspired people that he could have swung around a few key states and taken it over Dump. I can see how some Bernie people may have even voted for Dump rather than Hitlery effecting the outcome and also not voting at all after the DNC robbery.

I thought last year that Dump should have left the Rebublicrap Party and chose Bernie as his VP to balance him out on a independent ticket. For certain I thought that was a guaranteed seal the deal for Dump to be president, but he won anyways so thats the way it went.

And do you see that as better or worse then are current situation, with Trump?
Wow...this is a head scratcher, I think alot of it will all depend on how he is willing to continue to bend over for the establishment and also the way the media (backed by special interests) decide portray his presidency. I dont think domestically its as bad as the media makes Dump out to be, but with foreign policy (in regards to wars) its a complete disaster and I would hope that Bernie would have been a more genuine anti-war guy.

I might come up with something totally different if you asked me tomorrow, I can see it in so many different ways and write out a whole book on a single post buy you guys got better things to do lol

I wouldn't rely too much on youtube videos. Your best bet is to get a cheap collection of his work and read it yourself and form your own opinions about it. If you rely too much on what you find online, you're going to mostly get the author's bias.

I won't, I'm going to check out some of his books to get. I am hoarding books till I have enough time to read them all lol.

I'd recommend a book that collects parts of all his writings. That way you can get a better idea if you really like him and can always go back and read his complete works if he clicks with you. Otherwise, there are many other philosophers.

I like stoicism. Seneca, Marcus Aurelius, Epictetus.

You kind of just have to read a lot and see which resonate with you. You can get like a general philosophy or a general western philosophy if you want to narrow it down a bit further, although that can still be overwhelming. Youtube and discovery/history channel type programs aren't horrible to at least get an idea of what is out there. You just don't want to rely on them heavily. Once you find one or a few that you like, you can dive deeper into their original works.

Stoicism is a great philosophy, I try to live by it as much as I can. I should look into it more. Yea I'll look around to see what philosophers appeal to me or ones that go against my reality.

That damn hurricane is going to be close around the time of my flight in NYC...Im going to get molested by Wallmart agents while watching overhead for falling debris while hearing the announcement of my flight delay all at the same time, this is going to be a nightmare!!!

I think this was a great write up, I know it's not political but even philosophical ideas influences the political realm.

I don't know. You could be right, but I would want to see the ratings from this past year. I feel like even with bad press, people tune in to see what is going to happen.

If your into reading unclassified CIA documents at all (I read some, not a whole lot, lol) you will see how Hollywood is infiltrated and loaded with propaganda.

Hollywood is primarily run, regulated and/or pressure/influenced by the Chinese now (which they dont get much in the way of what the CIA wants to do) its a whole different world from Reagon although I 100% agree with you. At least that time it was just the USA running the show, we had more control for real change if people really wanted it. Now its gotten so bad people like Richard Gere cant even find a job anymore.
