I am and I understand what you're saying about having gone through this before. My parents told me about the days in Chicago where Nike missile sites were scattered all over the area to prevent a soviet attack. I worry though that the leaders we are provoking now are not the same as the ones back then. It's not a good idea to play chicken with somebody who doesn't fear death.

Even if he could, why on earth would he lunch his 1-3 nukes, then what? Keep in mind they don't have enough ships for an assault/invasion.

I say small chance anything will happen imo, and I hope not. If North Korea "launches first" Id be the first to call it a false flag attack based on US wartime history which will also work to prevent China's intervention against the US to allow the attack on DPRK. China may even play along with it so they "keep face (important in chinese society)" with the false flag attack, but again I think any war is more unlikely than likely.

China does not in any way way trillions of dollars in rare earth minerals going in control of South Korea and the west (which they all really really want.) It would be a major setback to where China wants to go. I believe that one of the driving factors of war are the earth minerals, not democracy, human rights (ROFL the US government doesnt give a damn about that) and nukes that the Clinton gave them. There are complex issues they dont bring to the public in the news when it comes to money and power.
I hung out in a North Korean resturaunt in China by the way, owned by Kim Jong-un and the State....it was one of the craziest moments I have ever experienced, I mean wow....very pretty girls too, hand selected of course. No I don't mean that, lol they performed in all girls rock group and sang and danced to songs about their great dear leader. It was awesome! Can't tell you much more other than very nice people even to me a American.

I work with my own internet sales business for a decade now, unrelated to China.
I met my wife in 2000 she was a student here from Beijing and I ended up dating her in 2003 and marrying here in 2005. Half my family is Chinese now.
I go there about once a year since '05 and have spent almost a total of an entire year there.
The North Korean restaurant was in Shanghai around Koreatown, Shanghai if I remember correctly, but I heard it shut down now. There is one in Beijing I heard of that has been open for a while but I havent had a chance to check out. I REALLY want too. Performances for their "Dear Leader" are daily at 7pm.
Interesting the ladies in Shanghai have no idea of the Beijing DPRK restaurant being in existence, they only think they are the only one open in China but I didnt give them a hard time with this stuff.
We asked one of them if they like China, the best response I got was "I love my country." We didnt ask any of them that again.They barely seen anything in Shanghai, she said the only thing she has visited was the Shanghai Pearl tower...this older lady takes her time not far away cleaning up another table and she was obviously spying on them watching everything she was telling us.
They all work on some special program there and stay for 3 years before going back to Korea. We asked one of them what their parents do, and she told us their mother worked in a hospital but she also had to add that she couldnt tell us what her father does. I think they are all special picked from privileged families, meaning government insiders or military, etc.....and well educated.
If there is anything significant Ill add here publicly is that one of them told me quietly on our way out in the hallway that North Koreans actually like Americans, but they are not allowed too do so. There are some other things to tell but Ill keep it at that, it was a mind blowing experience Ill never forget and I had alot of them in China, the entire DPRK restaurant visit topped them all.

That's really cool. I'm hoping that in the next year or two something comes up with work that gets me out there. Hopefully a conference or something since I'd love to visit, but it's always nicer when a client is paying for the flight!

Things I wish people told me before I went in 2005.
Carry your own tissue packs wherever you go in case you need to shyt. Most public places have no toilet paper, its a huge problem because everybody steals it anyways (they just started putting face scans toilet paper dispensers in some places this year as a test, lol Invalid Link Removed)
Its common to find multipacks of small tissue paper packs in convenience and especially grocery stores. I also get small small single wrapped and small packs of wetwipes for extra cleaning.
Also, get used to shytting on the floor. At first you think its retarded but then you realize its the best way to krap in public cause you dont touch anything and its far more sanitary, and believe me if your krapping in China in a city of 20 million+ you will really understand what Im talking about.
In 2005 my first public crap was inside the Forbidden City Beijing. My wife told me nothing. I had no paper, I had no idea I had to krap on the floor. I had to use money out of my wallet to wipe my azz, lol luckily I had alot of singles on me (about 13 cents USA value each) and got a little cleaner....but...I also just had my first diarrhea crap which shortly later I found out I had food poisoning.
Be careful eating in back alley food places and street food, try to go a little more mainstream with the locals (not tourist places) If you eat anywhere its always safest to simply eat what everybody else is eating (Anthony Burdain's advice although its more common in China to have photos of food in menus Invalid Link Removed) For someone like me who prefers fitness results over pleasure and had weight issues for years its really, really hard to follow that, but Im less flexible than most fitness people on here.

It's located in the first floor of a hotel. In China it's very common to have high quality resturaunts in hotels, often I've been in private dinner rooms with giant round tables for get together in hotels even though nobody was staying there. It's different the way they operate.

I think most people are sheep and join groups just for the sake of belonging to a group, most probably don't even agree with most of the stuff, they just go along for the sake of belonging....or in some cases there is a sense of security in belonging to a group, I've heard this is particularly true in prisons. I would imagine this would also be true for violent groups such as isis.

It was just me then....my circles in the US never thought about that. China it was like everywhere with people unrelated.
I've noticed name brand hotels and motels in China that we have in the US, I haven't noticed Trump name though but it might exist or at least under different branding not sure.
