Donald Trump running for president

Reports are that Trump has chosen Pence for VP. Interesting choice, truly designed to shore up the religious right of the party. He is a religious loon (imo). Thought he might have been better served with Newt. Going to be interesting to see who HRC choses. I have heard the former NATO commander is getting a serious look.

I was really hoping he would pick newt also...I think age might have had something to do with it. trump is 70, newt is 73.

I am a republican living in Indiana and I am not a fan of pence.....lol-pence endorsed ted cruz in the primary.

Republicans announce their platform and it's gone very far to the right. This is trouble.

The platform takes a strict, traditionalist view of the family and child rearing, describes coal as a “clean” energy source (wtf) and declares pornography a “public health crisis.” (Double wtf, porn aids with chastity/abstenance). Bible studies forced in PUBLIC school (wtf).

They've just committed party suicide and cut themselves off from a HUGE amount of people (including all Jews). They're so out of touch it's crazy.

both parties platforms have taken extreme turns. The dems have gone hard left and the repubs hard right. I guess the middle is totally lost.
Time to get rid of both. I am voting libertarian. Cant stand any other option
 
I work in a High School and I have had many of my seniors (18 years old) complain that they waited for the opportunity to vote, and this is what we gave them. Totally pathetic

lol...I was 18 in 76...my choices were Nixon's appointee Gerald ford or jimmy carter.....not exactly great choices, although at the time we had great hope for carter-just like many did for Obama, and we know how that turned out!!!

This. I even thought that perhaps Trump could appeal to some Democrats/independents more than some republicans due to him not having, to my knowledge anyway, extreme religious views (wasn't he a Democrat?). But if this is something that the party is going to be serious about, can Trump really avoid it, or will he have to embrace/accept it?

Honestly, I feel that if more Americans educated themselves politically, the libertarian party would be very popular. For some reason, many people confuse libertarians with the tea party, which isn't true at all.

Ron Paul is the godfather of the "tea party" but then special interests along with mainstream media totally hijacked and destroyed it. I remember CNN showing Palin on TV in a big "tea party" speech as if she was the leader. I knew then the tea party was dead, by name at least.

I'm talking about the modern tea party, the one the people associate Palin with. That doesn't represent the libertarian party. I'd vote for Ron Paul.

Not a chance. Mlk was a great human being, whom believed that end doesnt justify the means. blm doesnt, and they dont stand for anything he does at all, other than equality. Blm is a terrorist group.

Yep. "Day of rage" just sounds SO peaceful.
This is on the same day that I'm moving out of my apartment and going home for a few weeks. If they block the ****ing interstate going through STL they better watch out for my truck, because I'm not stopping for their bull****.

I'm looking at alternative routes that don't take me directly through the city, think I found one that won't have any problems. I do wish I had a gun lol. We also live far enough away from the city and on the Illinois side of the river that I don't think my family will be in any danger.

But do you think Hill is? I mean, I'm sure she's so fun to be around and easy to work with and all, lol, but Don is clearly the more kosher choice. Do you know all the Arab donors Hill has?
