Hell ya, I love it. I'll take a pic of the one in my gym, it's massive!! And against a black wall, it looks crazy good.

I read it has a meaning though. Something to do with this:

in current times the black and white American flag is taken as a symbol for the economic recession that the country is going through. It is believed to be a call for change and a symbol of freedom of expression.

Then why can't these consenting "adults" just do what they do? Who's stopping them?! It's private activity. Do you and your wife do that in public? If so I hope you're cozy with the local judge, otherwise that activity WILL be controlled by court order whether you like it or not, Geo. :)

What 2 people share intimately is strictly a private matter. 'Private' means nobody else is even aware of it, because it doesn't occur in public! Why do you feel compelled to support something that's inappropriate for you to even be aware of? That's private activity, and as soon as you feel the need to get involved and "support" it, it's no longer private. lol

It's no longer a flag in use, not for ages. There should be no government buildings that fly it, nor should it be used anymore (officially) because there is no confederacy. You're welcome to fly any damn flag you want out your window though.

But there is only 1 United States of America. There is no Confederate States of America anymore.

a flag, a shirt or a pen is a symbolism put on by people. Why cant it be used for something good? Oh that's right, change is impossible nor do people actually want change.

I stated to AX1 that it's a flag of division, and I properly supported my claims. Has that offended you in some way?

It is what it is. It's a flag of division against the United States of America proper.

You can't just all of a sudden take something and change it's meaning.

Like doing it, and stuff? Perhaps you fail to consider that not everybody wants to see unsolicited public sex acts. Can you come half way at least, and just keep doing it but in private? Or is that an unreasonable request, to keep your privates out of the public?

But thats what it means to you. I respect that so I myself let it go but people view the flag differently and how it should be used. Me personally I go only for the red white and blue.

Nah you're wrong again. The Confederate flag was created for the Confederate States of America, which no longer exists. I did not put any meaning into the flag. It existed for it's intended purpose. That purpose is now null and void.

How many times have you ever seen two gays having sex in public? I've been to numerous places that have tons of homosexuals and have seen it 0 times. I have walked past heterosexuals having sex in public more than once (though they were trying to be hidden, it wasn't out in the open).

How many times have you seen gays holding hands? I've seen it a handful of times. Outnumbered by the thousands of heterosexual hand holding I've seen.

Gay kisses I've seen in public in real life? 2-3 maybe. Heterosexuals? Tons.

Heterosexual physical activity and sex scenes in movies over the past 30 years? It would be impossible to quantify. Homosexual ones? Not even close.

Everyone in their lives has seen BY far more public sexual activity on TV and in real life by heterosexuals than homosexuals. So I think if your talking about people keeping that stuff in private then we should probably start with heterosexuals like myself.

I don't support intense physical activity in public straight or gay. But I do know which one you are FAR likelier to see and it definitely isn't two women.

Then y'all don't need the flag for a failed state ;) Sorry, we're only 1 'Murica now. As much as I love the south and would love to live there one day, there is no purpose in flying a flag that was created specifically for a separatist state. Any new 'meanings' given to it now are just bogus. It was created for only one purpose back then, to symbolize the CSA.

I want nothing more than to live in the south, mostly because of the warm weather, Whataburgers, and sweet tea.

Well then it's original meaning had been changed/bastardized. I don't see how a separatist war flag should be used as a symbol of heritage. Is anyone currently using the swastika for something else; like German Heritage? Bad example, but I'm trying to think of other cases where symbols are "recycled" and I'm falling short. Typically a new symbol is created to represent something specific.

You've never been to the 4'th of July San Fran gay parade have you? It's a sight to see my friend! If you ever have the chance it will likely expand your cultural spectrum in a way you'll never forget, lol. :) After the parade there's also a huge fireworks display over the bay, and it's pretty good for a daytime show!

But yeah, I agree with all you just said, and that was my exact point in case I wasn't clear the first time. Private activities are private activities. Whether gay or straight it's not appropriate in public. (that's what private means = NOT public)

If you think it necessary to "support" private activity (that is not your own) then you just destroyed what you set out to defend, because dragging it into the public means it's no longer private! Why is that such a difficult contradiction to grasp?

I think we may argue semantics. I support homosexuals to have all the rights and freedoms that heterosexuals have. When asked if I support "queerism" (whatever that means) then my answer was yes. In the same sense that I support "non-queerism."

Essentially let people do what they want and none of this stuff effects anyone anyways. I think some bigots think you can still catch gay :)

And I'm still waiting for all those horrific things to happen that everyone said was going to happen if gays could marry.

I dont think Nazi and our countries history is a fair comparison though, and for one thing is someone has the nazi flag in from of their restaurant Im certainly not going there as I dont believe its meaning has changed over the years.

How about this gutterpump, lets compromise, let states fly this flag should they choose!

Haha no I'm taking about symbol recycling. For example, the Nazi's repurposed a pre-existing ancient symbol (because they were obsessed with the occult, etc). The swastika was around far before their time. I don't think it's fair or normal that they repurposed it. And I don't think anyone will repurpose it again.

Anyhow, as I said, bad example lol. But I honestly fall short of finding any other sample of a symbol being repurposed for a totally new meaning. It just doesn't happen.

Aaaaand about compromise...lol good one I literally lol'd
