I guess it depends on where you live...plus here where I live people tend to keep the best spots to themselves, lol. kinda like favorite fishing holes, they don't want too many people spoiling a good thing!!!

But they have strong Christian values and have openly opposed gay marriage.
 
Yeah, basically they were very openly discriminatory, but have since atoned supposedly. Restaurants shouldn't involve religion or politics in their policies.

That way I can choose not to support them with my money when they do :)

Free speech doesn't protect you from the ramifications of speaking freely. People don't seem to realize that.

Where are reports of them openly discriminating against patrons? Just because the owner says he believes marriage is between a man and a woman isn't discriminating against anyone. How about your racism claim?

I corrected myself your royal highness, I beg your forgiveness. I am sorry that I do not have any evidence that you speak of as I am not an attorney at law. It's been broadly covered in the media however. Any information you so require can likely be sought out through some private investigation on your own behalf.

As Misfit stated, any company (or CEO) who openly supports and funds anti-LGBT groups, will just be blacklisted by myself. I hope my freedom to do this is ok with you and does not offend you my good Christian fellow. I know you are quite sensitive and your feelings are quite fragile, so I try not to hurt them as much as I can.

A simple Google search, which doesn't qualify as research by some, shows differently. That there hasn't been instances of discrimination by chick Fil A against customers. Just because you don't like the position of the owner doesn't mean he has discriminated against anyone.

If a white supremacist opens up a chain of music stores, I won't be shopping or supporting that chain, especially if their company money goes into funding white supremacists. Maybe now you can kind of understand this.

The crazy part that would bother me is if a gay group opens a fast food chain and they openly finance some anti-straight people group, its would be totally cool and not even get national attention.

Not at all, I support more freedoms and liberties for LGBT than anyone on this board. I just feel other people in particular religious goups who have an opinion about LGBT should too.

Personally, I think anyone that judges someone by their sexual preference needs to stop being ignorant. Tranny's though are a bit off the head, I cant defend that but I will defend their freedoms and liberties more than anyone here.

LGBT is a bad logo. It should be LGB, thats it. There is a huge difference between gay people and sick people that want to chop their bodyparts off.

I need to be very clear though, I am in no way anti-government. I want a government. Libertarians are not anti-government either.

Your thinking something in lines of an anarchist, which Im definitely in no way shape or form support..........but I can understand.

So people who associate with being female since they were kids are sick? Sexual reassignment is a perfectly legal procedure and quite liberating for these individuals. Who are you to judge them?

There is a big difference between associating yourself with something your not, and actually mutilating your bodyparts.

I never said to ban the operation. Anyone is at liberty to disfigure themselves at the cost of their own pockets. Its not really my business, but if you do that your totally warped in the head. Doesnt mean I cant be friendly to them or being in a working relationship with these people. I can respect them, but I can respect mental patients too.

I think its in the DSM book to, they are metally ill.

Who am I to judge them? There is nothing anybody can do to stop me from expressing my personal honesty.

Alot of kids are have mental disturbances including associating yourself as something your not. Being a child does not exempt yourself of mental issues.

If your a child and you associate yourself as a cat, your got issues upstairs. And this is based off a real live cat woman.

Gutter, I still can't find any bigotry with all the Chick-fila links. I didn't see where they denied service to anyone. Bigotry isn't having a different opinion, it's being intolerant of different opinions. You seem dangerously close to doing that yourself my friend!

So Chick-fila's CEO is a straight Christians, so what? They fund and endorse stuff that strengthens that position. Just like LGBT funds and supports companies and causes appropriate to their opinions. It takes both to create a stable balance. Can there be a night without the day? They need each other and if you don't tolerate them they have no incentive to tolerate you either. True equality means they must both be OK, or there is truly no equality for anyone.

There problem was when the CEO brought the company into it and stated that Chil Fil A only supports the traditional family. I mean why the he11 even make a comment like that?

That's where it became much more than one individual's personal belief.

Well, I hear ya. I didn't know about that. But still, take the media reports with a grain of salt. It doesn't seem like he had a press conference to just 'go off' on non-traditional marriage or something. I'd bet it was more like he got dragged into it for political motives. Know what I mean?

I take that back, he is accused of saying (I didnt check this) that Chiq-fila doesnt support this or that. I can see why the heat would go to the company.

I think its not a big deal to support a "traditional" family, its just how people feel. At the same time if people want to protest thats fine too, but I think people in general just need to stop being so sensitive and grow thicker skin. I can see if they hung lesbian/gay piniata's in front of the store or if they called to hurt these type of people, but this is nothing near the case.
 
I didn't read all the cfa bashing but they're always super polite and nice whenever I go. Their CEO doesn't like gay people. That's his belief. I have mine. Not liking the chain bc of someone's belief is silly to me. They make good chicken at a good price and have an oatmeal chocolate chunk cookie to die for.

This thread usually blows up before I get a chance to read anything but food for thought. I support Chick-Fil-A and they're not really bigotry-but-bigotry-sounds-cool ways.
 
What about Mom and Pop shops? They surely have their own values. Do you only shop at companies whose values match your own? Do you examine their every value? Make a pie chart to analyze? Or do you just dislike CFA bc it gets media attention and they have dope ass chicken?
