So the majority is still not in the south.

Secondarily, I can't find any data or info I dictating what the red dots on the map represent, so it seems pointless. When you click on the charts and maps tab, I get nothing.

Okay then explain why there are such a high amount of shootings in such a lax gun law area of the us?

Before anyone says I'm anti-2nd amendement. Not at all. I carry myself. I just do not see anything wrong with having a decent process take place before you can own and carry a firearm.

What about the higher crime rate in areas with the strictest gun laws like NJ, Illinois, MD?

I'm not accusing you of anything and not sure where you're getting that from. Looking at that map, it looks like where populations are concentrated. There are a high amount of shootings in places with minor gun laws and there are high amounts of shootings in places with strict gun laws. Due to that, I think something more than more laws needs to be tried. But, I'm open to listening to other options and views.
 
That second link shows that the states with the most lax gun laws and higher gun ownership lead the nation in gun related deaths

Another anti gun biased article. Per capita shootings in low populated states like Alaska don't come close to the numbers in Chicago alone.

Thats why we need more guns, people are defenseless. Its to easy to hurt good people who are not allowed to get a gun for self defense or are brainwashed into thinking guns are inherently evil and avoid them.

How come you avoid all the stats where guns saved people? How come you avoid stats where there are places loaded with guns and are far safer than strict gun control places such as Chicago? Where are the stats where thugs and criminals are killing eachother? Who cares if they kill eachother. Where are the stats where these people using guns illegal are on psychotropic prescription meds?

Gun death is a relatively rare form of death, you worry too much. It can be better if people were actually allowed to defend themselves agaisnt these thugs.

Criminals dont give a crap if guns are illegal, gun control laws hurt good people which are the majority.

I live in a red dot area.....the laws are horrible here in NY, I cant even have a carry on and have a clean bill of health and clean record.

Your telling me I should support more gun control laws? NO WAY.

Also, explain why there are many area's with far more lax gun laws that have the lowest amount of gun violence in the country?

Anyways, we have 300 million people here in the USA, gun violence is very low to begin with based on the chart you showed even if you include thugs and criminals I could care less about. Dont compare the USA to Australia which has about the same population as rhode island.

There were 53,317 recorded gun related incidents in 2015, 51,809 in 2014. Your number is a little off. Explain the "deserve to kill each other" are you referring to the 3,338 teens and children in 2015 who were killed/injured from a firearm? Or the 1,960 accidental shootings due to improper gun use?

I was referring to thugs and gangsters killing eachother. Alot of this is all fueled by the atrocious failure in the war on drugs and its unfortunate many unarmed innocent bystanders get caught up in the middle.

Its unfortunate that in society there isnt enough training and education with guns due to all the fear mongering from the politicians. Im all for training and education, this can start at elementary school.

Keep in mind, Im pro freedom and government out of the lives of the people, but that doesnt mean I dont want to try to find solutions to make things better.

Biased, no referencing prescription psychotropic suicide pills in the study = total fail. Where are the regular crime stats too?

When all is said and done, its a very relatively small amount.

The real defense purpose for guns is for balance of powers between government and the people anyways, government being the #1 cause of death the past 100 years, people need to be prepared to battle should a total tyrannical government take power or to defend ourselves from a foreign invasion which in todays case we are being invaded by terrorists...so the government says.
 
Mao took the guns from the people, although their gun violence is extremely low compared to the USA, look how that country turned out. That communist regime killed 100 million.

Really, people worry about chicken feed than the bigger picture.

If they did or didnt the answer to the question isnt just guns, there are many factors that can lead to an increase or decrease in crime and deaths.

What I have seen is governmental powers skyrocket across the country incrementally stripping away our freedoms and liberties the reason people need to more than ever stand up to keep their balance of powers. There may be a day coming where the power is not from a vote, but will be determined by the barrel of a gun. The question is not if, but when.
