Donald Trump running for president

I agree, but people being nice out of fear of hell are creepy, do you agree?
My post should not be seen as a rant against religious people, as we know people are the problem -not religion by itself.
Take my former religious friends, who always act as a perfect couple, doing charity and apparently never have problems.
Until you see behind the curtains. The husband coke addict, the wife shopaholic and all the hours reuniting in church for prayers and attending charity events are only to keep the husband from using -or banging his secretary.
I don't say un-religious people are different, but they don't use religion as a scapegoat.
I really like real people and not the "I love Jesus, so expect me to be a good person" kind.
Does this make sense?

Are they FORMER FRIENDS, or FORMER RELIGIOUS PEOPLE? Either way, they weren't "buying their way into anywhere."

Many people have a hard time with "religious people" being as messed up as "unreligious" people. But we are still humans and can mess up just like atheists or people of any religion.

I don't know about other religions, but Christians can't "buy their way into Heaven" by doing good deeds. So you can just put that away and stop worrying about it.

Christians, of course, but what does that mean? Some think they can behave on Sundays for a couple of hours and misbehave the rest of the time.

So yeah, sounds like your doing it the right way which I respect, but that doesnt necessarily mean others are.

Christianity doesnt make people good, although I can see if you follow the path you can be.

Acting more like Christ did does make you a better person.

But, there isn't' a Christian out there that pretends they're on the same flawless level Christ was. The whole point of Christ dying for *us* was for our sins, because we are sinners.

It's only the atheists that believe Christians should never make mistakes nor have flaw, not the Christians. This isn't' taking into account the worst of the worst people who claim to be Christians (see Westboro), which is always the example used when judging Christians.

Key word, "acting" believe me there are Christians out there that are the phoniest human filth scum I have ever met. I have also met the kindest, most respectful and genuine Christians too which I wish I can have more of their qualities.

As I always say, judge a person for the person, not for the "religion" tag.

Now.....your making your stereotypes of what Athiests all think which is just as bad as the stereotypes you are accusing Athiests of having on Christians.

As an Athiest I accept all people having flaws, but I dont think Christians are bad just because there are bad apples. Im just not going to judge you because you claim your a "Christian" which would be a naive thing to do. George Bush is a Christian, and that dude is pure evil. Doesnt mean I think Christians are evil, it really doesnt matter if your a Christian or not.
I dont knock on Christianity itself, but the idea that a "Christian" is a Christian.

I just wanna be clear here, I have to defend some athiests here, we dont all think the same.

As an athiest, Im not anti-Christianity or anti-religion. Im just anti-people that suck, lol.

Did this turn into the "I Am For Phil" thread?

Among other things

I also dislike phony people.
I also dislike people who go to church to use on resume's, or to be seen as a better person than they truly are.

BUT-your post that I disagreed with involved acts of kindness...I think we should accept acts of kindness as a good thing, rather they come from phoney Christians or atheists makes no difference to me!!!

The motive for a kind action should be taken into consideration.
(sarcasm alert) If an adult gives sweets to a kid... (alert over)

Just judge people by their individuality and not their religion, philosophical or political affiliation and problem solved. None of that really matters at the end of the day, everyone is different.

Agreed.

if I run out of gas 20 miles from nearest gas station and someone pulls over to help...I am not going to be concerned with what their belief system is.

Yes, but I hate it when I save someones butt and the guy says loud: "Thanks God!".

What ya think tmws primary out come is gonna be?

Hoping for: 58%+ for Bernie

Realistically: 48% max for Bernie

You're right. Nothing to really argue about anyway.

Let's talk Trump.
He is loosing popularity, it seems.

realistically, if Bernie can pull mid 40's it will be a major accomplishment considering the machine Hillary has backing her.

I give Bernie credit, he has far exceeded my expectations. I have said from the beginning that Hillary was the anointed one, I guess Bernie didn't get that memo, lol.

trump supporters should still support republican nominee, anyone is better than Hillary...then when the establishment republicans who plotted against trump come up for re-election support their opponent in the primary and get rid of them....that would teach the republican establishment not to throw voters under the bus without turning the country over to liberal democrats. don't carpet bomb the whole republican party, just single out those who need to go-paul ryan 1st on list, and hopefully karl rove goes with them....

I unfortunately disagree BigT but I'll tell you why.

I do not share the same values and opinions as someone else does, they will always vary. So to support a party means you pretty much stand behind everything they do. Nowadays, the views of any candidate are so skewed across the board that their views are meshed together with the views of other parties. So with that mindset, I won't just vote for a person based on the party they affiliate with. I will vote for the candidate that holds closest to the same values that I hold dear.

respectfully, I think you are missing my point....I think trump and sanders are both getting the short end of the stick. the party's have more control over who the nominee is than the voters. as a 'mostly' conservative voter I don't want the republican party to self destruct, rather single out those who think that party interest should come before the votes of the people....

Gotcha! I read your post wrong. Random thought: My wife became a US citizen in 2011 and couldn't wait to vote in 2012. Before they even tallied California's votes (polls were still open) they announced Obama the winner. It was kind of crushing for her, so excited to legally become a citizen, excited to vote, then realize her vote didn't even get counted in a way that would effect the outcome.

that is going to happen, apparently they can sometimes declare a winner with only 7% of the vote counted.

Electronic voting machines are also easily hacked, it's not who votes but who counts the votes that matters most.

Those machines are special propriety nobody knows how the work it's a patented secret.

Donald trump is coming to Indianapolis tomorrow...Indianapolis is a violent town, just this last weekend 12 people were shot and 6 died in just 60 hours. so far this year there have been 35 murders.
.Donald trump picking the state fairgrounds for his rally tells me his campaign people are uninformed, the fairgrounds are close to a notoriously high crime area and is within easy access for anti-trump'ers who will most likely protest.

I hate to say it but I predict a high probability for serious problems in indy tomorrow!!!

this sounds like a job for "thebigt"

Trump did great tonight. Not sure where everyone is from in here or who they voted for but it's looking like Trump vs. Hillary and Hillary is bad news for this country. Everything about her just irks me

From NY but cant vote due to restrictions here.

I would have voted for Bernie just to help get rid of Hitlery, but Trump is the least shyttiest on my list.

The whole voter registration thing has been a joke this year. And then did you see they were putting out on social media to leave your Bernie gear at home when you go vote? Apparently they were turning people away if they had on anything with his name. Horrible

Didnt hear about that.

Just to be clear, I think Sanders policies arent my cup of tea, I support Liberty not socialism. I may be naive, I think he is one of the few good people in government at least. Im saddened how he is being screwed with the Superdelegates out of this election.

In NY I could never vote in the primaries as I am not a registered republican or democrat and never will be.

What happened to all the trash talkers when Obama's radical terrorist pals was brought up a few pages back?

You dont even have to go that far. Obama is the leader of the establishment Republicrat/Demican party which have done far worse violent acts of terror both foreign and domestically than Bill Ayers. Im sure we can convince people Obama is at least associated and pals with these radical terrorists.

Well conceived insights, T! I take it you live in Indi? :o

But I wouldn't jump to the idea that his campaign people are uninformed. I don't follow politics much, but from what I've seen his team looks pretty sharp actually. What if he does these high risk venues on purpose? I mean he always seems to come out of these stunts smelling like roses with even more votes than before. Why wouldn't he embrace high risk publicity opportunities? It just seems like his style to go all in at this point, but like i said there is much i still do not understand about politics, lol.

Donald trump has fantastic security around him, I am sure he see's the risk to his personal safety as minimal. my concern is that confrontations between trump supporters and protesters will become violent.

if trump is aware of the location of his rally being in a high risk area and is willingly putting his supporters and protesters in a potentially dangerous spot I will have to rethink my thoughts about trump....I would actually prefer to think that trumps people were naïve in picking the area they did for this rally!!!

Well that's true, I know I was naive about it too before now. I'd never heard that Indianapolis was much worse than any other big metro.

I can just envision Trump running around the fairgrounds like a little boy, going on roller-coasters and giving kids rides on his personal helicopter and stuff! He seems like that kinda dude. :)

lol...I see trump much different than that. I really don't see him intermingling with the public other than a few selfies, then ushered out by secret service and on to the next.

Yeah, I see him differently than you for sure, T. He seems like a big kid to me. Quick to interact with normal people in the crowd and risk unscripted public interactions. Who knows if it's really sincere or just good game from an ol' business man, but I think that's clearly why he's become so popular this election. He wears an old baseball cap for cryin' out loud, that seems pretty ghetto for a millionaire, lol.

But like I said, I can't stand politics. All I know is what my wife tells me day in and day out (she follows all that drama way closer than I do.) It's just a TV reality show to me. Probably all staged anyway, and I aint no sucker for that kinda crap. ;)

there is a lot of drama involved in politics...the return of peyton place, lol.
