I turned on the tv, they said 20-30 for nyc. I was supposed to get 1-3 inches by now and nothing, lol

Saw a car covered in snow this morning driving on the street, it was the only one it just looked funny.

Bloomberg is far from being a Republican. He was a Democrat before he couldn't win an election as a dem. Which is also why he's considering running as an independent.

Bloomberg is well suited as mayor of NY... I doubt his policies would be so well received outside the east coast-or west coast. people forget that most of the U.S does not think the same as those on the coasts do. many people from the Midwest think of new Yorkers and LA'ers as freaks, lol.

Reagan preached personal responsibility...Obama preaches don't judge...

I see a whole lot of people today that need a boatload of judging. the permissiveness of todays society combined with a total lack of personal responsibility is a recipe for failure.

I dont live in the mountains, lol but looking at the weather map I know why you thought that.

Im in lower tier NY if you draw a line across it.

My area showed snow on the map all day, even my weather channel app kept saying most of the morning and early afternoon that it was snowing (under current weather) in my zip code, but I swear we did not even get a dusting of snow. Just some heavier flurries in the morning for about 5 minutes that amounted to nothing not even a dusting.

I even saw small pockets of sky around 4pm with some sun shining through.

As we had a bit of this discussion in pm bigt, and I am with you on the personal responsibility thing. But I think I'll stand by my argument a bit more now, that it is a generational thing and not so much a political party thing.

All I see now is republicans blaming Obama for everything. The party of "personal responsibility" is the party of blame.

It's the liberal media's fault. It's the gay agenda's fault. Etc etc.
even Sara Palin, it's Obama's fault her son whooped up on his girlfriend.

I just feel that republicans are trying to hold on to the personal responsibility moniker, but it doesn't hold up anymore. All the candidates are whiny blamers.

Yet another issue by design. If getting Hilary into the White House is part of the agenda, it makes sense to have the Republicans cryings and pointing fingers. It also makes sense to have Trump as circus show. The worse the Republicans look the better.

I'm all for non-partisanship though, so even though I'm not Conservative, I have a strong interest in the GOP having a strong party with good leadership. The only way government can truly get things done, is if everyone can work together in a productive way. It shouldn't be constant war / egotism, especially once someone is elected. It only drags us all down.

It would be great to do away with the smear campaign garbage. I don't care what anyone did in their past. I do care about their stance on current problems. I also don't care about candidates fantasy football picks.
It's unfortunate these tactics work so well for forming public opinion.

Get rid of ALL the parties....Giving people an illusion of choice between clubs is how they consistently maintain power.

I agree the candidates are no abe lincolns or john kennedy's....all I can say is that I am not happy with where we are at or the direction we seem to be taking, I think this country is in a mess, and I don't mean financially I mean morally...Obama has had his way for 7 years as the helmsman of the ship, can you blame me if I blame him, lol.

Oh I totally agree. But the width and manipulation of the divide is our biggest setback. Of course there will always be different visions and ideas. But the fuel to further the division and hinder that compromise, makes us hate each other and nothing gets done.

Also lack of morally, self ownership, logic, and well not to be cheesey but love. The state can be over thrown then another can come back up but we will just be ****ing over our future generations just because people can't see beyond statism.

Not a fan of Lincoln, I dont think his interests were to free the slaves and I dont support that civil war. Just to be clear too, dont worship Washington, just like that he was the only president to to be a part of a "party."

Back to the issue though, my main point is that I prefer to abolish parties in the political system. They all become corrupt and people put blind faith party votes, the reason this country never gets any real change.

Oh yea I agree, politics is so old and outdated. Also overwhelming evidence it doesn't work at all, its all a illusion. I'm going to find a link talking about this that I recall.

I can sort of agree with you, but I dont think anything works at all, lol. Politics or no politics, the system or non-system is going to be on a constant chaotic roller coaster ride.

The reason I can agree with you half way is the fact that government by nature is corrupt and will always constantly seek to expand its power as long as people allow or lack the ability to control it. I can understand and get that part.

If no government, people by nature are tribal and it becomes inevitable that government sets its place. I mean, do you really think its possible that society as a whole will cease to seek to grow their own agenda's and cease to seek to indoctrinate the others in order to justify their own natural political attachments?

I just dont see a pure win situation that will satisfy people in the long run. Then add in religion to the mix which there are some 50,000+ on this planet and that further complicates the non-statist potential.

Well its practice now in days, if you think about it government doesn't run our lives at all; they only regulate it. Some may play the military card but in reality a true free market would provide us essentials protection (fire arms, mercs, bountry hunters, etc...). The idea is that we protect ourselves and regulate ourselves but most people believe humans are corrupt by nature. If we teach our children and they reach there children how to think then we can eventually have a society that fully thinks for themselves and owns themselves.

I certainly get that....thats why I defend the 2nd amendment and always acknowledge its primary purpose is to protect ourselves from tyrannical government which is the # 1 cause of death.

Equal powers is what I aim for. Balance between the people and small minimal government who's primary role is protecting our freedoms.

The problem is can we have people united without government and not be fragmented and be able to handle an invasion from China?

I love the love and compassion of all human aspects of it, but that didnt work for Tibet well. That might be different as Tibetens themselves didnt want to arm themselves after the 16th Dalai Lama requested people to quickly start considering. Thats a different issue, but my point is also prone to becoming naive in a peaceful situation, which Im seeing before my eyes here in America where many of us are in a position of comfort.

Love and Compassion is human nature, but the layers of ignorance, attachment and aversion this day of age are very strong.

If you don't think anything works, why support the second amendment? The documents give us rights from the Creator. Very vague. It could be the creator of the document for all we know. If they can give you rights, they can take them away.

What would any of us do with power? I think I would be corrupt myself. Especially if I had a safe house in New Zealand while the rest of the world killed each other.

I just meant the world cant be perfect....nothing works perfectly, and nothing works great in the long run. Societies fall, revolutions repeat. Id be fighting to keep a good position as long as I could.

Im not religious so I dont think any "creator" gave us anything. People create people....or perhaps aliens but who knows, lol.

Its the great question, how do we make things work best? People will never all agree to the answers as proven in this thread (the world should be here and learn, lol)

Anybody can certainly take anything from us, whether it was given to us or not, by a higher creator or human creator, or even if given to us by nature. Having that "creator" give us a power so we can defend our power from the very creator taking it away from us sounds reasonable, although as we have seen this power incrementally deteriorates as people trade in their basic liberties for extra illusion of security.

Bear in mind...when I refer to the 2nd Amendment, thats just me working within the system trying to work it against those that put vows to protect the system but choose to dismantle it.

The Constitution isnt my dogma.....Im just trying to use it to my advantage.

My wife watched it and mentioned the 9-11 references too....she really loved it.

I was soooo pooped out after some 7 hours of football yesterday, I was seriously fried lol

I might jump into this series soon though, I have to balance life out of TV but I think I can get this one series in.

Today I spent 3 hours watching last nights WWE Royal Rumble, and Im going to start watching a part of RAW tonight so damn...I hate TV, lol
