Spending four years working with foreign students from all over the world I would say no to this. Other countries consider us a laughing stock. Our education, taxes, debt, health care and overall intelligence is a big joke to them.
Obama hate, not sure. I feel the % is much lower. I think it's important for the establishment to make us think a majority still thinks he's great.

Oh I totally agree that we are a laughing stock in regards to education, debt, economy, etc. Our system in general is laughable. I was just speaking in terms of Obama personally. But I do see since making the comment myself and reading a bit more into it, that it is a very split opinion. Not as one-sided as I thought.
thebigt I also looked into the "red line" issue, and it seems there was some definite back-peddling regarding the whole statement.

Alot of what is seen overseas can be heavily influenced by their own media and their tube. I remember during the Bush era when he was hated by so many, people in China I ran into had nothing bad to say about him. Watching the news over there they were always cordial when presenting information in regards to Bush's domestic policies for the most part. Compared to Keith Olberman at that time the difference was extreme.

another reason why Obama is not respected is DRONES. he is unwilling to 'put boots on the ground', but readily sends in drone attacks that potentially kill civilians. this seems very cowardly to many!!!

The Tiananmen square incident is unknown to most of the Chinese people. From the info I have read, they seem to have absolute control over the media and many other things. Maybe the policies of Bush were in line with what the Chinese government wants their populace to accept.

Civilians die from 'boots on the ground' as well. Drones save the lives of our troops. At least that's how they spin it. If we accept drones over there, maybe we accept them domestically.

In Beijing Ive talked to younger people (pre-25) and some either dont know anything about it or others do know something happened but dont believe me that anybody even died.

I know people that were there and people that were there in and out just to check things out, and a couple told me they saw their local hospital full of bloodied people that night. Alot of the older people especially Beijingers (many these days are outsiders now btw) know about it but they wont talk about it, and generally they dont like foreigners talking issues about bad things about China even if its about "just" causes, its considered impolite....either that or they are trying to keep out of trouble.

I dont even bring up these things there anymore, its just not worth it. They just passed a big Terrorism Cyber Security bill that demands all communications and internet providers backdoor access and keys to all encryption and they are quick to label people as "Terrorist Sympathizers" so my own policy there is mind my own business, lol. I just keep it about family and the country makes me feel welcome there so whatever.

Bush's have a long history in China, George used to ride his bicycle around Beijing back in the 70's while his father was head of CIA.

I have a book I didn't finished but it was only based on facts. Its stated how hitler had 3 or 4 double that were killed trying to escape but he may have made it on a u-boat with his girlfriend. I didn't finish it though.

Hey T thats cool man , to each his own . But where my blood comes from we are not Jewish, but he wouldhave slaughtered my ancestors if he could . I too am interested in the history of it. The death of hitler was among the first successful assassinations by the big C.

I cant stay silent and watch peoples hypocrisy pretending to be social justice warriors by calling people Nazi's for questioning Islamic Sharia Law but then go out and slander people with strong Christian beliefs or different political ideologies.
