I dunno this one in depth but being a former mining union member myself, those are some good paying jobs Id bet alot of people would line up for.

if coal were a single issue then it would have a much greater impact....but we also have the keystone pipeline for cheaper oil [and] a hedge against Russia and opec forming an alliance to regulate oil production... and then natural gas of which we have an abundance of, and trump is also going to/or already has loosened regulations on....

Im no genius but at the right price you can create demand.

Using my own logic, regulations only have meant that demand has been suppressed by government, so demand should defiantly be there when you unregulate.

i realize the press is much harder on spicer/trump than they were on josh earnest/Obama, but after watching josh earnest, spicer looks amateurish by comparison, imo.

honestly, I think earnest was the best press secretary I've seen, a hard act to follow-to be sure...but I still don't think spicer is very good!!!

Natural gas is far too cheap. I suppose he could try to stifle oil and natural gas production to make coal more attractive, but that would be stupid IMO.

My hope is that innovation will replace outmoded fuels like coal, oil and natural gas anyway.

Your blowing the environmental aspect of it way out of proportion. Im all for moving onto the next stage of modern energy.

I didnt read that whole article I dont have time atm and its just an opinion piece loaded with libtarded global government nwo brainwashed climate change propaganda.... but really if coal is all that uneconomical its will naturally go bankrupt in the free market (not this over regulated crap especially under Obama.)

There is really nothing for libtards to worry about if coal is really not cost-competitive because nobody would be investing in it anymore and moving on to the next thing.

Before his appointment at WVU in July 2011, Van Nostrand was executive director of the Pace Energy and Climate Center at Pace Law School. Prior to his transition to law school teaching in 2007, Van Nostrand was a partner in the energy practice group of large law firms in the Pacific Northwest.

I think he might have some expertise in that area.

Anyway, just clarifying that on the way out :)

What gets me about the nuclear options is that lets say there is a war against another screwed up country...Ill just leave that for the imagination. Other than that its certainly a great source of energy.

My only concern is that if there is a war they can be used as targets against large civilian populations in worst case scenarios. I dont think this would ever happen, but if it did which is possible they just arent easy to tuck away and hide. Then again if a country is capable of pulling that off they probably have nukes to begin with but this was just on the back of my mind....it's easier to pull off a strike on them.
