Donald Trump running for president

Trump's latest venture has over a $5 billion marketcap alone, he took on social media which is diversifying into banking/crypto/etf-stocks.

Shyt, I just dont get how the most successful people in the world are called bad at what they do.

I mean just look at his success…….he’s a very good businessman but your hate for him blinds you from the truth.

What success? 😂

He used his presidential position to boost the value of his businesses. He's a good grifter, not a good businesses person

He grifted this by being a cult leader. Had he not run for President, his crappy social network never would have survived.

Or maybe it can mean you took on many risks that didnt work out so then you consolidate back into what works and then take on even newer ones.

Id sure would love to be in Trump shoes than my own when it comes to business. No so much being a politician though being I disagree with most of his policies but thats another topic lol.

You would love to bankrupt 6 businesses? You can do that at any time, what's holding you back?

Knowing less about running a business will actually be a blessing if you want to follow in his shoes

Dude just give it up. what kind of miserable life do you have? You don't live in America yet Trump consumes your thoughts. Nobody cares what you Kiwi's think. You are irrelevant. It's nothing but jealousy. He's a multi billionare and he is a 2 time President. You leaders locked you down like slaves and you thanked them for it.

Yes absolutely as long as the end result is your overall net worth is positive and growing even if there are dips here and there.

He actually gave up ALOT his first term, and then the woke wars in Silicon Valley helped him start up his new company and now he is worth more than ever. Chart below is out of date by the way, Trump Media's markecap alone is bigger than the entire net worth listed below.

"Cult" like status isnt something I wont debate :)but that is sure a side of his marketing genius (didnt get to me lol,) in which is part of business. Trump Media is getting into bigger business ventures into crypto and they are lauching several ETF's in the near future this year.....of course his pro crypto policies are going to help leverage that side of the business but its hard to complain about pro-crypto policies.

No, it isn't lol. Bankruptcies can be an outcome of doing business, but it absolutely is not typical, not should it be treated as such. In NZ, you can be prevented from being a Director if you have a been a Director of a company that has gone into liquidation. People with a track record of failed businesses owe a ton of money to investors that they can effectively walk away from.

I get that the system may allow it, but that doesn't mean that the person is a good business person.

this isn't new zealand and the folks who founded the States, those who follow in their footsteps as Libertarians or conservatives have no desire to mimic Kiwi politics. At a state level, we are in many ways anti-business in the blue states, but both at a state and federal level we have many many protections in place for small and large business. For instance, there are over 21 million LLC's in the States, many of these are for small businesses and provide a veil of protection to the owner of the company. Bankruptcy is a sign of hard times but not an indicator of complete failure, it too is a protection veil to allow a company breathing room during a period of consolidation while it explores debt repayment scenarios.

The exact same thing happens at the personal level as well. In many cases it's no different than a homeowner getting a chance to refinance their mortgage to a lower payment when they fall on hard times (such as loss of job).

If you went bankrupt 6 times and are still a billionaire... then it means you made over a billion a 7th time. A billionaire before, during, and after becoming president is pretty damn successful compared to being lonely and bitter on a remote island in the pacific.

In terms of public support, Trump had the worst first 100 days of any President in recorded history. Kind of impressive, really.

For those who voted for Trump, we couldn't be happier. What a huge improvement over dottering-Joe and his cackling sidekick!

Turns out we didn't need any new laws to secure the border. Just a new president! No more men in dresses competing against women, and the science of just 2 genders again.

And it sounds like we are getting Columbus Day back next 😀

Another big glorious raid capturing over 100 illegals (including gang members), criminals on warrants, guns, drugs, and even active duty military members collaborating with the enemy (welcome to Leavenworth!!)

Haven't had success like this in over 4 years!!

Then you wonder who they are “really” working for and the likelihood of them getting put down. They are snagging puppets…not that it’s a bad thing in itself.

Jealousy?

I can tell you now that if you stepped out of your little MAGA bubble that no-one is jealous of Trump lol.

Why do you take any criticism against your dear leader so personally?

He went bankrupt and got his buddy Putin to bankroll him. He was best buds with pedo Epstein. Cost the US tax payer nearly 200M in golf related costs. Tanked the US stock market. Levied tariffs against penguins. Thinks the US had strong relations with Italy dating back thousands of years (the US is 250 years old), and so on.

Is it normal to bankrupt 6 businesses and for that not to be considered an abject failure? If Biden had 6 failed businesses, would you be criticizing him for that? (The answer is absolutely you would)

Nope. You just have a terrible understanding of all this. I’m actually starting to suspect you’re just trolling for rage bait. So, I’m done interacting with you.
Except it is literally in the Bible.

Ignore it all you want, doesn't change that fact.

Dude, you are delusional. Best buds with Epstein?? You are clueless. Tanked the stock market? It's bouncing back just fine.......

No, it’s not. You’re changing definitions.
Also, Romans 13:1-7…laws of the land. And yeah, I treat everyone with respect, but the laws of the land are clear…become documented. Do it the right way. Is the system perfect? No, probably not. But there’s systems in place, and maybe we’ll get someone eventually to make the system better, but until then, I voted for the best of every option.

Again, I’m not sure you even believe half what you’re saying. This is most likely ragebait and trolling. If this continues, I’ll just block you.

no it's not, my guess is you're not a student of business or economics. Those businesses are still in business today. the chapter 11 filings allowed restructuring of debt. I don't see you making the same comments about GE's subsidiary WMC, GM, Chrysler, and many others.

You're just expressing bias built on your TDS.

If someone who's political ideals aligned with yours, built a business, fell on hard times, filed for banktrupcty protection to restructure, save their business and thousands of jobs, and then rose from the ashes to continue operating, you'd cheer them on. You wouldn't harrass Dave the plumber who filed for chapter 11 and grinded it out with creative debt use to save his 7 employees, house, and keep his wife and kids fed, but because El Don is a billionaire who's political prowess does not match your own ideas, you target him.

I can't even begin to count the number of small business owners/entrepenuers who I've seen max out 17 credit cards, the equity in their homes, their angel investors, etc to chase their dream and eventually build a successful bussiness after years or decades of hard work.

But then, I've been a student of business and econ since I was about 9. It was my focus both in high school and college, before I started our company. so I've been deep in the trenches of research on these topics for some 34+ years.

Twitter has been silent on China caving, but only a couple weeks ago it was “orange man will cave to China!!!111”

Very interesting.

yeah media was a mess when Trump announced decreased and paused tariffs as though he "failed" and "caved" yet the final result was new tariffs across the board pretty much on everyone and new tariff revenue.

same thing happend in Trump 1.0 when he pushed for IIRC 35% corporate tax cuts. they ended up at like 19% or something and everyone said he failed... art of the deal.

Genuine question, in your opinion, did Christian Republicans submit to Biden when he was President?

Using that passage now, whilst ignoring it when it suits doesn't make anybody a "good" Christian. Simply picking and choosing when a passage applies is not practicing Christianity in good faith

Not a bad thing, just an observation

false. again, art of the deal. you gotta get out of your chamber dude. your talking points match those of the purple haired gender confused.

On April 9, 2025, he announced a 90-day pause on these high reciprocal tariffs, lowering them to a baseline duty of 10% for most countries' exports to the U.S., with 25% for specific products like cars. This standard 10% tariff applied to countries like Vietnam during the pause, though China's tariffs remained at 145% without relief. The pause was motivated by over 75 countries, including Vietnam, reaching out to negotiate trade deals, and the absence of immediate retaliation from most nations. However, it’s unclear if the higher reciprocal tariffs will resume after the 90-day period ends in July 2025, as negotiations continue. Some critics viewed the pause as Trump "caving" due to market reactions and diplomatic pressure, but supporters argue it was a strategic move to encourage trade concessions.

The 10% baseline tariff appears to be the standard rate in place for most countries during this pause, but the situation remains fluid as trade talks progress. Always worth digging into primary trade announcements or U.S. Trade Representative statements for the latest, as media spins can cloud the details.

The United States of America have powered the Global Economy with an average 2.6% tariff across the board for decades while everyone else penalized the hell out of us despite us providing aid, food, and military support. welcome to the real world. time to pay the piper.

Wut? I think his policies suck but really he “caved” lol

I think he sure does have a lot of pressure on him, if his policies don’t produce nothing 2 years unfortunately nobody wants to endure what it takes to fix this system up and mid terms come up before you know it.

He is flip flopping a lot not sure of “cave” is the right way to put this one.

I think his policies are great and you'll see the wealthiest nation America has ever been this term until they fake another plandemic or war.

Yes, overall, most republican Christians did submit to the authority. Republicans didn’t burn down cities, attempt to snipe the president, etc. The worst two thousand did was Storm the capital building (or were straight up let in) and the rest spoke their mind. We didn’t key Teslas up, or attempt to turn boys into girls or influence their sexuality in schools (this literally was happening at my kids’ school until I stepped in). We simply voted him out. Republican Christians, overall, are law abiding citizens.

But, when leaders or authority have laws directly counter to the Bible (for example, taking the mark in Revelation 13), then that’s where we take our stand. This would apply in Islamic nations.

I'm so excited about this. If he can create enough squeeze to entice Powell to start pushing rates down, we're going to see market rockets.

It's sorta a trap to engage with him on this topic. You're right across the board. Also, the Bible refers to ideals such as "give Ceasar what is his." But in the Republic of the United States, our votes, in theory, carry more weight than the Roman's opinions. We are to be good stewards of the land, and our finances, and as Americans I believe that we truly do live in the legit promised land of milk and honey, it's our responsibilty to be good stewards of our votes.

I did not spend 4 years under Biden breaking the law(s). That's for damn sure. I disagreed, I voiced my opinion. I researched both the science of the disease, the vaccine, as well as the economic damage he created, but I did what I did within our legal framework.

I don't take criticism about Trump personally.... I simply take offense to dumb people saying dumb things to push a marxist globalist agenda.

All of the outrage Dems cry about Trump is for the same things they do themselves, but worse.

When Biden got elected, the market dropped -30% from Jan 2020 thru April 2020. Any criticism about the current market without addressing that same time in Biden's presidency is uninformed and stupid.

Stock graph.webp

Biden had TWO quarters of negative GDP and refused to call it a recession, instead changing the definition. Biden had years of rampant inflation and tried to call it "transitory". Biden pushed gas prices above $5 dollars per gallon and then drained the strategic petroleum reserve to lower gas prices by 10 cents for the mid-terms in what should be treason for compromising national security to buy votes. And on, and on, and on......

Its all the same phony outrage from emotional idiots upset they lost the election. Even worse when its coming from a tiny voice crying on a remote island that has literally no understanding or influence in the events of the day.

Sounds like Honda is going to move some production from both Mexico and Canada into the US as a result of Trump's tariffs. ;)

The end of top of the line quality Honda's is here, well moving into Canada and Mexico not great either lol

And this isn't a spun narrative?

It's not the art of the deal, it's the fact that the stock markets took a nosedive and he would have had a tonne of pressure to alleviate it. Money talks, and shareholders hate losing money.

If Biden had done this, you would have called for his impeachment lol

Didn't MAGA storm the capitol when they lost the election? 😂

Question, are gas prices cheaper now than they were on Trump's inauguration day?

Who was President in 2020????

Wtf, have you been on Twitter seeing the **** some of your MAGA Christians (like MTG) were saying about Biden LOL. Many Republicans spent the entire time calling Biden illegitimate and calling the election stolen. That's not submitting to authority. If you try apply that passage to Trump now, but didn't apply it over the past 4 years under Biden, you're simply a hypocrite.

"We simply voted him out"... Last I checked, Christians stormed the Capitol and beat the sh** outta cops. I mean, look how peaceful Republicans are:

American Christianity is just people spewing hate and other 'Christians' agreeing. The problem with any faith is that there are zero repercussions. You don't get smited, or told you are wrong. God doesn't tell you off or correct you. You can literally do whatever you want and justify it, even when the Bible specifically says not to do that thing.

The reality is, calling yourself a Christian doesn't make you a Christian.

You live in the promised land?

Huh?

That was Canaan lol.

How is me quoting Scripture a trap?

Thus says the Lord of hosts: Render true judgments, show kindness and mercy to one another; do not oppress the widow, the orphan, the alien, or the poor; and do not devise evil in your hearts against one another.
Zechariah 7:9-10

I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.
Matthew 25:35

I guess in the Republican version the passage probably says, "I was a stranger and you deported me" 😂
