Does Taper Work?

Does tapering your dose at the end of a cycle help you recover faster? I know they tapered in the 1970’s rather than running a pct. Let’s say you taper and run a pct. Is the taper beneficial?

Say your test is at 900 before your cycle. You run some harsh AAS and take it all the way down to 50. For the second half of your cycle you taper the dose back down. By the time you reach your pct, could your test have possibly gone back up a modest amount?

Hahahaha.

This was briefly discussed in another thread a few days back.

Generally speaking, I think tapering has crappy cost:benefits. It sounds plausible in theory ("hPTA will start to significantly recover once AAS dose is reduced!") but it is unlikely in practice.

Simply put: youll be dropping your dose, but still ingesting enough to remain suppressed, and missing out on gainz.

Think about it, if tapering legit worked like it is hoped, why wouldnt we just start with the lower doses and minimise suppression? Cos the cost:benefit is crap.

I wouldnt think so... I wouldnt treat anabolics like an opiate or RX drug. Would seem to prolong shutdown with no benefit IMO.

We know with reasonable certainty that suppression can be dose-dependant when commencing a cycle, but this doesnt mean the reverse is true. If the taper is long enough, sure, but as renew1 pointed out in the other thread, the halflife of something like testE has a natural taper effect in itself.

With the modern SERMs and AIs available to us, Im unconvinced by old skool taper logic.

Yeah and back in the day they ran super long cycles. So they didn’t have to worry as much about tapering cutting into their gains. But if you’re only running an eight week cycle, and you start tapering five weeks in, you’re obviously going to miss out on some gains.

Now go over to the other thread and tell me what stack you’d run if you were going out to LA to join the porn industry! I think I’m gonna send my resume out there.

Tapering to minimize shut down is an old argument, honestly I've no idea really.
But in an eight week cycle tapering long esters on and off while filling the gaps at either end by tapering down at the start and up at the end with shorter esters will give a very precise time oncycle. Making an eight week cycle eight weeks in and out.
This will help you recover faster.

Short of trying to get someone pregnant, why would anybody go off gear? Blast and cruise makes perfect sense.

Tapering makes zero sense. Ten mgs og ostarine is suppressive, so I failed to see how reducing more powerful anabolics would assist in recovery. You'll end up with none of the gains of a proper cycle, plus none of the health benefits of attempting recovery through an aggressive pct.
