Do sweet potatoes increase natural hormone profile?

A friend and I were talking in the gym yesterday and he said sweet

naturally increase anabolic hormones..anyone know if its true?

i did a search and all i came up with it increases dhea levels

i think yur right i read wild yams increases dhea.

but do sweet potatoes?

sweet potatoes are one of the best foods for a cutting doet there gi index is 100

How are they good for a cutting diet if the GI is 100? That's like eating pure glucose. Now don't get me wrong sweet potatoes are one of my favorite foods but during a cutting diet (or bulking, for that matter) you should stick to low GI foods as your main carb source. The sweet potatoes might be a good source of high GI post workout carbs if you are from that camp.

Then was the GI=100 figure incorrect? Or does the low GI come from fructose?
They come in between 25 and 50 in the GI.

i could have been wrong. Actually i got that the gi of a sweet potatoe is 100 from a friend in Australia named Josh Dickonson. Hes a Natural Bodybuilder, and has his own website.

Im keeping eating them...whether they do or dont increase anabolic hormones there great for a slow burning carb source and damn tasty.

Lee Haney has his own protein powder that is fortified with sweet potato, what is up with that?
What do you mean by "fortified?" Does the protein powder contain dehydrated sweet potato powder or something? Jay Robb has a product called yammit that he calls a sweet potato cereal. Think rice crispies, but heavier and made from yams. I've not tried it, because like all of his products, it's way overpriced. A great idea though.

I read about sweet potatoes a few years ago, and what most don't realize is that the sweetness is not from fructose--it is an enzyme. Sweet potatoes are supposedly low-mid GI. Definitely lower than regular white potatoes.
