dextrose-vs-oatmeal?

I've been using simple sugar source in my pre-workout and post workout whey isolate shakes. It has been mentioned that raw oatmeal is perhaps a more favorable carb choice as it does not spike insulin levels so harshly. Though the ss route speeds protien utilization at critical times, I'm hearing that this can interfere with normal insulin response and even cause insulin sensativity. Any feedbak on this would be appreciated.
