it's about damn time!! :hammer: Dexter deserved to win a major show, as much as the public likes the cartoonish mass monsters, it's nice to see someone with a good aesthetic physique win a major show.
 
there really weren't any mass monsters competing though ... maybe art atwood but he doesn't have a shot at winning a major show
 
Dex was very emotional when he won, and it was due time he won...I think he got screwed at the Olympia taking 4th...he should have at least had 3rd....but I'm just glad he won the Arnold...

i don't know if he got screwed at the Olympia ... i think gustavo actually had him beat ... now if you want to make an argument about ronnie or jay i'll listen to that ... jay was carrying a little water (isn't he always) and dex should have beat ronnie on the ab/thigh posedown

In addition to him deserving to win, his victory went along with Arnold's statements about AASs in the sport, and a potential trend in favoring aesthetics over sheer mass.

...you do realize Dex is on a TON of gear ... he's 5'6 225-230 SHREDDED at like 3-4% bf ... you can also see slight distention of his gut from apparent gh use
 
i'd like to see a return to frank zane-esque physiques. he had a truly beautiful physique

Now I know I am gonna get flame broiled for this, but I think Chris Cormier should have won the Arnold Classic this year. I think he was the best he has been since the Iron Man, and although I was not there most of the pix I have seen he looks very dialed in. I think he really stepped his game up, where as Dex came in like he normally does, which is great, but I thought Cormier had it

i think that's a very valid argument ... Dex is starting to get quite a buzz around him now though and he's definitely a fan favorite .. when he's not going against ronnie and maybe even jay ... i think he'll just continue to win

I meant Dex's physique was more "natural" (in a very unnnatural sense of the word nonetheless) when COMPARED with the likes of Ronnie, Jay, Ruhl, etc.
