Desperate for Advice

I am 55 and need help in the worst way. I had a quadruple bypass in 2008 and since have lost a lot of muscle mass and put on 70 lbs since then. I am 6'2" and weigh 316 lbs. My testosterone level is down in the low 300s and I need a bra or a solution.

I am using my sons login and he wanted me to be sure that all of you knew that this is not him. I think the bra line got him.

I am just now getting back in the gym. I have never felt as lethergic as I do these days. I have lost my edge, my drive and am not sleeping well. I have an extensive knowledge in working out and know how to get back into the swing and work my way up. What I don't have is a knowledge of supplementation and hormone manipulation.

I would like to be around to play with my grandkids. Please give me some ideas and direction.

Get a docs advice on your heart health and its potential first. They can put ya on a treadmill while hooked to an EKG for a stress test. Make sure you tell you doc you want to start lifting/working out again.

Also are you on any meds for BP? Cholest? etc. these could all be factors in any kind of supplimentation.

A sports doc. and a nutrition specialist will be of help also.

The first thing I'm gonna say is start with diet. Gotta lose some pounds without getting all amp'd up. I'm going out on a limb here but I'm guessing your doc will tell you to start walking, hit a treadmill, and watch your callories for a few months.

Up your protien, cut carbs, cholest, fat and cals.

For supps start with your omega 3 fatty acids, sesimine, and a good multi. Add some light cardio and your metabolis will speed up. You'll burn fat faster. And get your body ready, slowly, for bigger and better things.

It will not happen over night!!!! Perservere! And and document progress with your doc.!

Sign yourself up here, log your results and progress. It could be a great thread, and you'll get tons of advice and suggestions.

Hang in there man. The fact that your trying in half the battle. This section is going to be of limited help, also read nutrition and exercise science.

I'd start with the diet. Get your diet in line and the hormones will follow. starting with supps wont help much. Fish oil, work on eating low GI foods. Stay away from alcohol and sugar. Thats a start. I love the before and after pic. You dont realize how far you've come til you see where you were. And I agree with everything it the post above.

I agree on what the others said, work on dropping weight first. Don't look for some magic supplement but instead dedication and consistency in your workouts.

Your T is low and E is probably high and that's not a good place to be. Your T levels will not go far with adipose because aromatase is your enemy, especially at our age. If you drop the weight, it is the best hormonal manipulation you'll get.

If stress is high or you drink alcohol [ too much ], it will be much more difficult to achieve results.

Desperate,

Check out the web site Invalid Link Removed. It has tons of useful info for people in your position. Dr. Wm. Davis is the site owner and is a very pro-active cardiologist. I've met him personally and like the guy and I don't like or respect many doctors. He also authors a blog and a forum to compare notes with others.

The doctor definitely believes in weight training and supplements including things such as fish oil, high dose niacin, vit D3, and often test for those who are low (especially if you have high
Lp(a) or similar conditions).

good diet
fish oil 6gms
tribulus energy and libido
orang triad great multi with join support
creatine
and maybe a testbooster

also may want to consider the beach body workout series and then bump it up to the p90x if you feel good
