Delicious Tuna Burgers

I had sickened myself with tuna, and thought I could never eat it again, when lo and behold, I remembered an old recipe--The Tuna Burger. You can experiment a lot with what you put in it. Here is what I'm doing.

1 package of tuna
1 Cup Oatmeal (ground to be like bread crumbs)
1/4 cup egg whites
Fat free mayo
Lime juice
Pepper
Tabasco
Sweet and Spicy Honey Mustard

Mix these up in a bowl, scrape onto a pan, and cook a few minutes on each side. :food: Hmmmmm!

I eat them just like this, with some extra honey mustard on the side. If bulking, you can add a whole wheat roll to make it more of a burger.

Enjoy:woohoo:

I just made them again with a couple of sliced olives in it. It was so good I'm gonna go make another one :food:

You're welcome.

I just made another one w/ sugar-free relish. That was good too. I'm using Bookbinder's hot and sweet honey mustard. 1g carbs/2tsp. So you can use about 10tsp with minimal carb impact.

You can definitely tweak this recipe to your liking or mood.

I think ground cumin and some yogurt could be a good Indian tweak.

Next up will be cilantro, red onions, and some avocado.

As I mentioned, olives are good too. 10 sliced olives adds 5g fat. Or you can add a tsp of olive oil to hit the same #.

How do you measure avocado
:frustrate:

Well, I hate Mayo, so I used some FF Sour Cream and it tasted great...

The best part about this thing, besides the fact that it hides the ordinary taste of tuna, is that it is F'in loaded with Protein...and it is cheap as hell to make. 2 things that I need!

Cilantro and Red Onions was a success  You can add crushed red pepper and tabasco. The cilantro cools it down.

I forgot to get avocado :(

Next time.

Just made this - it's good stuff!! I added black olives into the mix and ate with medium salsa. Can't even taste the tuna!

i tried this a few weeks ago, i didn't put any oats/bread crumbs in it though and it just fell to pieces! Will try again at some point!
