Decent digital camera?

Alright wife’s birthday is coming up and I know she has been wanting to edit pictures, take family pictures all that stuff. So I’m thinking of getting her a set up for her birthday. No clue on what is decent and wowsers I didn’t realize how spendy some of these are!

so I found this one at Best Buy it’s a package has nice case another lens. It’s a cannon EOS Rebel T7 DSLR 24.7 megapixel

just wondering if anyone has any input or advice on it or another camera etc.
 
I think for that kind of money, you could go for Canon EOS R50
