Respect to all those young lads who jumped/ran/swam/crawled into the jaws of Nazi occupied territory and fought with great courage and sacrifice to establish a toe hold on Europe and slowly defeat the Nazi war machine. I don't think kids today fully appreciate what their grand fathers and possible great grand fathers went through on that day and how it changed the course of history.

Also, I'm not sure how to post videos but check out this link to the D-Day invasion scene from the movie, "The Longest Day". Everyone has seen Saving Private Ryan but before that movie, this scene from "The Longest Day" was considered one of the most gritty and realistic battle scenes for it's time.
