After attending the elegant CF fund raiser that Old gator and his lovely wife did an incredible job arranging. I went home and seeing that video they made moved me. Old gator joking around mention me to how possible giving viagra could help combat CF. While it got my wheels thinking about all the information that is swimming around in my head that possible this could be a huge key into controlling CF. In my research of many diseases there where key point that starting sticking out, but it never dawned on me that how interrelated they all where. There is a gene that controls the production of nitric oxide which can be manipulated through conventional means. It would be a ground breaking study to see if there was a high defect in this gene that controls nitric oxide production. The gene is known as nitric oxide synthase which can now be directly tested through DNA SNP's testing. If this gene is defective in either over producing or underproducing nitric oxide it may hold a valuable key to improving the quality life for these childern untill there is a cure for this. When one of the people there told me about how these special kids attend camps and before they leave they tell them that they "hope" to see them next year not knowing if they where going to survive the following year is heart wrenching. Hopefully with what intervention with holistic medicine and conjucntion with proper medical drs. I am working with his daughter as well as my Dr to looking into the nutritional imbalances at the cellular level to help his daughter to improve the quality of life untill a cure can be found as there life expentency increases.

thanks for introducing me to your cousin because he is opening the doors to alot more opportunity for both of us because now my doctor can refer patience to goto him for physical therapy if they are located over that way. We are also going to work with him to get him fully optimized as well.
 
Hope for Denufosol by Inspire to come out in a few years; will replace every CF drug currently on the market.
 
Wish it was that easy thats only works on specific tissues mainly the male gential area not in the respiratory system where it is needed.

Matrix, Thanks for coming. We raised over $100k!

As you know, all kids with CF have low NO which led me to think about one of the best NO boosters we have - Viagra! When I mentioned it to the head doc at CHOP he said "You won't believe this but they just started a CF - Viagra trial in Seattle!"

I mentioned this to Samantha who laughed and said "Dad, I take a lot of medicine with a lot of side effects but thank God an erection is not one of them".

Denufosol acts something like the current hypertonic saline treatment but better. Should be approved in 12 months.

Vertex Pharm has 2 compounds that have basically cured the CF defect in early trials. IMO these will be the true life saving compounds, although the GD FDA is horribly slow with their outdated and costly approval procedures. Many kids will die before these get approved unfortunately. (For more info on how FDA incompetency kills, read the cover story in this months Life Extension Magazine). BTW, they also want to take away access to bio-identical hormones - read Snipe's recent thread. Our tax dollars at work!!

What I am saying is that they may have an genetic dysfunction in the pathway that creates NO via nitric oxide synthase which is controlled through methylation reactionswith vitamin b-12, folate. Which can be modulated through nutrient therapy. When we get your nutrient testing it may open alot of doors to modulating Nitric oxide release
